As a citizen of America what I believe in is that we should respect one another. We’ve gotten so far together in history we gotten through hard and tragic times. People work hard everyday and night to improve the way we live and we take it for granted. We need to show respect for every person in society no matter whom they are born to or by their looks. No matter even if they collect the garbage or work to save lives everyone deserves to be respected. Every person has a role in society even though it might not seem this way. Though veterans had to put down the ultimate sacrifice for their country they’re just like every other person who walked this planet. They want to be respected and be left alone
Veterans should be shown more respect from citizens because they fought and died for our freedom. My papa got a medal for helping patch a hole in his ship when it got torpedoed. In WW1 men had to suffer being in trenches and harsh conditions. D-Day was on of the bloodiest day in WW2 and in history. This is some conditions veterans
Veterans are brave to have even thought of going out to war. Bravery is one if the main things to have in order to do something so terrifying. I am so glad that there are people willing to miss out on quite a bit to fight for the country.
Veterans fought for our freedom so that we could be free and they sacrificed almost everything they had: their home, their spouse, children, and sisters and brothers. They are our eagle and are our source of freedom. I have an uncle who was drafted in Vietnam and when he came home he was not welcomed back like he should’ve been. They were fighting for our freedom. our freedom and we should've shown respect, not spit in their faces.
There has been a scandal in a VA. Due to scandals the VA made some vets wait so long to see a doctor that they died. Some of these vets have families that they love very much that they don’t get to see because they are in war, in the hospital due to being injured , or dead. Our veterans have done so much for us, not just for the benefit of them, and for our country, yet most of us take them for granted. Our veterans deserve our love, thankfulness, and most of all, our respect. The “Marines’ Hymn” is typically sung at the position of attention as a gesture of respect. which again is what we owe our veterans and much more. In part of The “Marines’ Hymn” it says the following- “we fight our country’s battles, in the air, on land, and sea. When our veterans went out to battle they lived by what they said. Our veterans stay committed and help our country. All of our veterans and those who are currently in battle have fought for our freedom. Freedom is like a big gift you are given from our veterans and those who are currently in battle. Most of the things we want we can’t have most of the time, we have to work for it, or if you get lucky it’s given to you. We have no idea how good we have it. When our soldiers-(veterans,marines etc.) go out to battle i’m pretty sure they are scared out of
Veterans are heroes in the eyes of many citizens of the United States. There are over 20 million veterans that have risked their lives at young ages to help give the nation a fear free life. They serve and protect the land for their children, spouses, parents, family, and neighbors. Yet they are not treated with the love and respect they truly deserve. The veterans took a devastating loss when the “House Appropriations Subcommittee marked up the 2016 Veterans Affairs funding bill, and slashed more than $1.4 billion from the presidents requested budget for America’s Veterans” ( ask mrs. Pyle 8). Today, the veterans are treated worse than prisoners who have committed murder or rape. While these criminals have a safe and warm place to stay,

While these criminals have a safe and warm place to stay, there are many homeless veterans who are starving and out in the cold. There are veteran centers around the United States, but they are over capacity, and some do not give the care the veterans desperately need. The men and woman are only allowed to see the doctors who work for the V.A., or the appointment and the treatment will not be accepted by the insurance. Instead of spending money on new faculties, the government feels that when another country is in trouble, they deserve the money more than their own people. Veterans of the United States are being put on the back burner while the government gives more attention to the murderers and child molesters in prison, other countries that have people in need just like the
Veterans should be recognized and treated with respect, that is the minimum we can do for serving this country but it is not what they receive. Veterans do not receive all the help they need, financially and health wise. Yes, they receive some help but it is not enough. In the article "The Psychological Effects of the Vietnam War" by Josh Hochesang, Tracye Lawyer, Toby Stevenson it talks about how veterans have been affected physically, mentally and emotionally and have received the help needed but not everyone, yet there are out there struggling getting back to society. The war affects them mentally, after all they have been though out in combat, all that traumatizes them. There are mental illnesses that do not appear until years later, and
“A hero is a man that is afraid to run away” -English Proverb.” That is what our veterans are, heroes. They should be respected for the sacrifices and honored for the things they do. They love are country because they fight for our country. They are brave enough to fight because they love.
Americans also need to have respect. We need to respect the flag and also America by making it clean. So if you see a piece of trash pick it up and make America more beautiful than it already is. Then, talk and get to know people. Someone could be having a bad day, but we can change that.
Veterans are people who have fought through wars, hardships, and some of the roughest things that have ever occured in our nation’s history. They have saved countless lives by rising above the rest, by taking the duty of protecting our nation upon them. By taking upon this duty, they have fought through
Overall, this book was a great read and an amazing introduction into a new world unknown to us as Americans. The Andean culture is one everyone can learn from. In the book, the Bolin provides vivid detail about the community of the Chillihuani people who live in the Andes. Bolin goes into detail about the people and their child rearing ways from childbirth to adolescence how they instill high moral values in the children to foster a culture of respect. In the book, Bolin makes mention of different families and incidences that stand out in stark contrast to the mainstream American community.
In most instances when you see a veteran or someone who is currently serving in the U.S. armed forces, you automatically assume that the person is respectful and patriotic. We are faced with a society full of youth that believe they are entitled to everything they want in life. They lack the respect and self-responsibility that it takes to achieve those things. Some of the youth want to blame others for their shortcomings in life. They are more likely to be one of the most disrespectful generations we have seen, in my opinion.
What do you think about when you hear the word ‘America’? Do you think of freedom, liberty, or rights? Most people will probably say something about freedom and rights because that’s what America is known for. There are so many gifts America has gave in my generations.
The veteran’s that fought in WW2 and other past wars don’t get enough respect, after people learn
I think that everybody in this world if that is men or women or anybody else they should tread equal even though we don’t all think the same, looks the same or talk the same we shouldn’t differentiate against because of these qualities. Being different Being different is good. If we didn’t have a difference, the world would be a pretty boring place. Everybody should still be treated equally and be given a chance. Some people think that people should be treated differently because of our beliefs, colors, ethnicity, gender, and other things. I think that that is wrong. Just because somebody thinks or looks different than you, you should just look beyond it and find the good in them. Americans have the right to freedom of speech and belief. Sometimes
