In the beginning of the book, Michael was an all-star baseball pitcher. Game after game he pitched very excellent even though they’re only allowed so many pitches a week because they are in little league. Michael is a twelve-year-old boy that can pitch eighty-miles per hour. Michael saw this bad kid running from the cops, so Michael throws the ball from home plate all the way past the field and hit the guy in the head knocking him to the ground. Michael meets this wonderful girl one day and later on founded out that she was his hero’s daughter and wasn’t too happy with her when he found out because she didn’t tell him.
In the book Michael ohre has hit rock bottom, But he finds a good family to live with. He starts studied to get good grades and starts practicing football to get better at sports and then he gets into college and then gets in the NFL and later wins a super bowl.

This book has three main characters, Mike Raglan, Erik Hokart, and a strange young woman named Kawasi. Mike Raglan is a keenly intelligent person, as well as determined, which is what drives the plot onward. Erik Hokart is also very intelligent, but also wealthy, which enables him to inadvertently start the conflict of the story. The young woman Kawasi is a strange woman with brown skin and a heavy accent. She is a very odd addition to the story as she is alien to the world in Utah. Of the three characters, Erik Hokart has the largest influence on the plot, being that he is the reason there is a conflict. In addition, the main character, Mike Raglan, learns a tremendous amount from his experiences in this book as he tries to remedy the conflict. Kylie wants to talk to her family but can't because nobody want to talk about the accident, so she bottles it all up and tells the whole school about it though a speech about domestic terrorism. Kath, Fin mother has to deal with Fin critical state. Fin is a former athlete on the Mumbili football team, would be restrained to a wheelchair or a bed for the rest of his life. Kath has to do everything for Fin in his condition so she doesn't have time to hide away like Tess does, she has to get on with life and can't let the grief get to her. This theme is important to my generation because you can lose people around and this novel shows how and how not to deal with
The strategies I did in order to fully prepare myself for this task is read through the theme and the plot for the book and watch the movie understanding what is the story line in the movie. Discussing with my friends about is there any movie can compare with the book. At the beginning, I’m really interested about For today I am a boy this book because this story is different than the other book that I read before. After read the book I thought I can compare the book with similar movie which talking about the boy wants to be a girl or girls wants to be a boy this kind of movie after that my friend recommend the movie Karate Kid which is totally different story line movie. But when I comparing the two main characters, they both have similar points. So I start writing down the similar points and go back to watch the movie and read the book again for finding more details and points. During the conference, my theme and three points was not make any sense. Mr. Tran discuss with me and makes the new theme and new three points.

Characters: Maddie is the main character. Maddie came into the story first and then met Q. Q and her are like brother and sister, they are very close and they help each other when they need some confidence or they need to be convinced that everything is going to be ok. She is very poor and she is homeless, she has a great personality which is very kind and caring. She starts out not super confident in herself but she always stays positive about herself when she is homeless. When she meets Q she becomes very confident in herself because Q shows her how she can get perfect food from the dumpster at the restaurant and she makes a plan for her life. Then she realizes that life may not turn out to be so bad. Her and Q are very nice to each
Currently while reading, it is safe to say the main protagonist of the novel is trying to escape his past life by leaving behind everything he’s known for a new adventure featuring new people. Already he has tried to fit in by being something he is not. It is evident through his speech versus his thoughts. Short term events could consist of him changing who he is to fit into the current way of life he has walked into. Long term events could consist of the adventure he has with the new people he has met. He begins to fall for a taken girl amongst it all, but never voices his feelings for her. In the future the most important events could involve the girl and the lessons he learns along the way based on what is right compared to what is wrong.
