Philosophy of Education
Everyone in this country is extremely unique and each person has individual goals and passions in their lives. The one thing each person has in common is growing up completing some level of education through public schooling, charter or private schooling, or home schooling. So, with something mandatory like education, educators in any schooling system can expect to encounter all types of students. If providing an education for students is supposed to prepare them for careers and post-secondary education while providing them with opportunities for experience, then educators should be committed to helping each student succeed in their unique way during their education. This means educators should be focused on meeting the individual needs of each student in order to help all students discover and learn while providing encouragement to find their passions. It is important that this is implemented by educators and administration in all subject areas of education.
There is an excerpt from an article on the mission of the high school that summarized the mission being to prepare every student for whatever future they choose in their progression into adulthood. The purpose of education is to prepare students for their futures with both knowledge as well as fundamental life skills. I believe students are highly capable beings who have a desire to be productively challenged. To empower students to meet and exceed high expectations set forth by the state, school, or teacher, it is imperative that educators “teach for enduring understanding through partnerships and by drawing on brain-based education, students ' multiple intelligences, and culturally appropriate curriculum innovations” (Laster and Johnson). Beyond guaranteeing students can read, write, and perform basic math functions, we should be producing graduates who are responsible individuals positively contributing to society, reliable workers, and devoted family members. Whether students receive a scholarship to attend college or go to work immediately following graduation, we must train them to conduct themselves with integrity, have an admirable work ethic, and solve challenging problems they may face throughout their lives.
Rita Pierson, an American educator, once stated, “Every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be” (“Every Kid,” 2013). Her comment is reflected within my philosophy of teaching. One’s philosophy of education defines who they strive to be as an educator; it clearly forms the way one will teach and guides their expectations for their students. Children are the future of our country. Therefore, I believe it is the responsibility of a teacher to strive to be the best educator possible by having cultural competence and pedagogical knowledge to effectively teach their students. This can be done by motivating students to learn through self-discovery based on their interests and what is relevant to their lives. It is a teacher’s responsibility to guide students towards their own goals to grow intellectually and personally as a unique individual. Accordingly, students will be inspired to use acquired skills and knowledge towards the real world.

Some people might like education, others might dread it and really don’t see a reason to continue learning about it. Today, for teachers and professors it’s easy to them to tell how the education they teach is effective for an individual student. As we know, education is being taught at school, home, and a little of both. For America today, most children attend preschool, kindergarten, elementary, middle school, high school, and college. Depending on the pupil's career choice, it can take up to 20 or more years completing their schooling system, Usually, during the middle and or high school years in America, professors teach you valid things pupils will be using in life.
Education entails individual human development in the cognitive, emotional, creative and social areas. All children are entitled to a free education regardless of race, cultural background or handicaps. For education to be an effective part of the students life, the student and teacher must be actively and enthusiastically involved in learning. A teacher needs to be well prepared and organized. They need to know the perspective goals for each student and ways to achieve these goals. Teachers need to work with students to help them grow and develop ways to use their knowledge.

Education is the best thing that can make everyone successful in our lives. There are so many people really have a hard time in studying, especially is students. They will have a special time in school, such as failure or success. Every student has to deal with a lot of things in school which are homework, classwork and so on. The most thing that every student concern is how to preparing students for college. Everyone knew, preparing students for college is very important to facet of our education system, but there are not many high school student graduated. Nowadays, most of the jobs require students for higher education Also, it's getting too difficult to get a job when they graduate high school or be successful without a college degree.
A university, like organizations and communities, are comprised of individuals representing different cultural and religious backgrounds. In defining the rules of conduct for individuals functioning together, it is necessary to formally define those rules to ensure that all are aware of the common values that should be adhered to and the consequences of non-adherence.
My views of school and education have changed dramatically over the years. It can be said that my preconceived notions of teaching and education were initially based on my personal experiences as a student. I viewed teachers as simply individuals who had one primary goal: to give me all the necessary information such that I pass my final exams and receive my diploma at the end of my degree. Therefore, I hope to not emulate these ideals in my students. My goal is to instill in my students that grades should not be one’s primary factor to succeed in school. In essence, learning is more important.
I am a first-generation daughter to Nigerian immigrant parents. As one may imagine, the journey from a populous country in West Africa to the city of Dallas, Texas can be a strenuous task to overcome. In spite of this, my parents both collectively made the difficult decision to leave their families in Nigeria for the brighter prospects and array of opportunities the American education system has to offer. Because of the obstacles my mother and father have endured in their past, they have ensured that each of my siblings and I have not had to make the same difficult decisions as they did. They have done so by instilling morals, values, and beliefs to potentially guide us through the hardships of life. These values include a strong work ethic, perseverance, as well as adaptability.
Even as a young child, I enjoyed the school environment; the safe space in which students can participate, experiment, and grow both as learners and as people. The messages both implicit and explicit often aligned with my values of the importance of obtaining knowledge, rational and logical thought, and hard work. As I have grown older and even through my program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I am more aware of some of the inconsistencies inherent between these values and our current public school system. As a “smart,” white, male student I had a different experience than many. One of the reasons I want to teach is to spread my largely positive and empowering experience of schooling to as many students as possible.
Education should be valued to the highest extent. Education is how we obtain knowledge about our surrounding. Education gives us a perspective on issues, politics, and on life in general. Education allows us to interpret things in uniques that we didn’t imagine were possible. Most importantly, education gives us a platform to change the world. Without education, many people would be lost. Education is a delicate process that should be handled with care. Educators have the abilities to form knowledge within their students. Some of them use their abilities to the fullest power, while others completely abuse their abilities. As an 18 year-old college student, I have come across both kinds of educators, even though I wish I had not.
As one of the building blocks to a successful career, education can, and should, be viewed as one of the most important experiences any person will undergo in his or her lifetime. It leads people down a path of discovery in order to help them establish what they want to pursue for the rest of their lives. However, without professional, experienced educators and effective teaching methods, students can never expect to reach their full potential. For this reason, legislatures from all countries should take steps to improve their schools and the techniques they utilize.
