Confidence is an inner peace a person feels when they are comfortable knowing a particular subject matter and having the ability to share that knowledge about the subject. Confidence is the courage to be oneself. It is the ability to understand and not worry about a decision made on a subject. Confidence can be seen in the appearance and posture of an individual. It can be heard in the voice of an individual, and ultimately recognized in the body language, and the walk of an individual.
Actor Denzel Washington oozes confidence when he walks. His walk has been described as a dignified poise which provides onlookers a glimpse of ethics, professionalism and self-image. Confidence can be enhanced by putting on a fresh, new dress or suit,
Confidence is defined as firm trust. Essentially, those two words can summarize leadership, the firm trust in your ability as a leader, the firm trust in your peers, the firm trust that you will accomplish the desired outcome. When analyzing the greatest leaders ever you hear these crazy stories of confidence in their vision. Martin Luther King Jr. is a prime example of someone who not only led but made people believe as well.
Trust and confidence are not the same thing. Yes you can have confidence in someone but trust is more. Confidence is more of a self worth trait. You can find confidence when out on the basketball court free throw line. In order to score and shoot you have to have confidence in yourself to do so. Confidence can also be
In the purest sense, confidence is knowing what you're good at, the value you provide, and acting in a way that conveys that to others. “self-confidence […] has to do with beliefs about one’s general ability to handle situations and problems in the
Being confident goes beyond just being proud of yourself; In Otto’s view it's about taking extraordinarily big risks. For example Otto was taken from his orphanage to the H.I.V.E. campus where he could have complained but, instead he was confident in himself and the teachers that ,although this place was new and out of ordinary, it still was safe. Otto Malpense gained his confidence when he was a child; His orphanage was threatened by the Mayor that it would be closed down because of its disastrous condition but, Otto didn’t give them a chance so, he made a plan and told all the kids in the orphanage. His plan could have had a tiny flaw and that would have shut down the orphanage
The reason that I chose this topic is because I have seen the impact confidence, or lack of, has made on my practice. Confidence is an important aspect of care; not only because of what it symbolizes, but the direct effect it has on the patients and a nurse’s mindset.
Not having a strong sense of confidence can cause problems such as being easily influenced, having trouble making the right decisions, and getting involved in unhealthy relationships. Developing a strong sense of identity and self esteem is important because we must first learn how to understand and love ourselves before we can allow anyone else to. I am confident because I know who I am and what I want in live. I am driven and goal oriented and I will stop at literally nothing to get what I want. Being confident in myself has allowed me to express myself in a variety of ways without worrying whether or not people are going to judge me. I’m a big believer in “look good, feel good, do good” so I always try to look my best even if I’m feeling not-so-confident on that particular
“There is a difference between conceit and confidence. Conceit is bragging about yourself. Confidence means you believe you can get the job done.” says John Unitas.
Confidence is “the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust”(google), in which Icy Sparks unwillingly gained while being at the special school. Being able to rely on her family to tell her who she really was left her with no doubt they didn’t love her, especially not being able to see them over the holidays. Exchanging letters was the only messaging method back in the 1950’s in Eastern Kentucky, making her writing tone calm, when in person she would be yelling up a storm. The time spent away is what made her understanding of
In fact, confidence is very important to each of us .Confident people believe in themselves, and because they believe, they achieve. You have confidence in yourself and your abilities.President Nixon, because of a lack of confidence, ruined his political career. In 1972,Nixon’s re-election campaign.Because of his remarkable achievements in the first term,so most political commentators are predicting Nixon will win by a landslide.Nixon himself, however,is not very confident. He can’t walk out of psychological shadow of the past few failure, extremely
Confidence is super important so that you can work without feeling like you aren’t doing something correctly when you are but also so you can make an error and fix it without getting worried of making that error. Which makes it so they don’t need to worry about you ask for help before trying to fix the error yourself first to save you
According to journalists Katty Kay and Claire Shipman in The Atlantic article “The Confidence Gap”, “confidence is a belief in one’s ability to succeed, a belief that stimulates action” (Kay and Shipman 151). As important it is to be knowledgeable with a warehouse full of experiences, if one only keeps the knowledge to him/herself, this knowledge will not have the chance to be applied, or let alone appreciated. This would clearly be more difficult for introverts and women than for extroverts and men, but we must overcome this barrier to have a successful career. Due to both nature and nurture, women tend to internalize their failures and mistakes, falsely blaming themselves for being incompetent, resorting to being even more careful and shy in taking actions, which stops them from taking risks that might be the key to stand out and succeed. To overcome the lack of confidence, we need to swallow our doubts, “stop thinking so much and just act” (Kay and Shipman 153). Confidence is the language needed to deliver our skills, and at the end of the day, confidence can also be self-perpetuating, and having confidence could help us better recover from failures and be a better person as a

I believe that having this self-confidence is necessary in our time and age where the social forces at large always try to push us into different
The confidence is built upon the esteem and the belief in oneself to be good or worthy enough to be capable of aiding others.
What is the defining line that separates the words confidence and arrogance? According to Merriam-Webster, confidence is defined as “a feeling or consciousness of one's powers or of reliance on one's circumstances” while arrogance is defined as “an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions.” In my opinion, the two words can be swayed in meaning depending on the individual. For example, take a female who is apart of a cheer team. During cheerleading tryouts, she claims that she will be the next captain. Some of the girls will view this statement as arrogant, believing that she sees herself as better than the others who are competing for this position. On the other hand, some of the girls may view this statement as confident. They may believe that she has pride in the dedication and work she has put into practicing and bettering herself in the sport.
