Apart from me as a scholar, I think me as a person is also important to my high school career. One thing that has helped me become a good person this football. We practice football and good character as it is the same thing. One thing I have mastered this year was integrity. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking. Integrity has been one of the most important things in my life. It has become ingrained in my daily life. I have integrity in my words, such as following through on my promises. I also have integrity in my actions, like in April someone dropped their wallet and they didn’t notice, but I did and instead of keeping the wallet to myself, I decided to give it back because that was the right thing to do. My daily decisions
Scholarship, Leadership, service, and Character, all four are an asset that one needs in their life. Scholarship drives you to do your best in your academics and to never let go of your dreams. Leadership is stepping up and offering to help with everything that needs to be done, help those who are less fortunate. Service is going out and making an impact on you community. Character is being you and to not letting anyone change the way you act or think about an issue. Scholarship has made me work as hard as I possibly can so I can go far and achieve every goal I have set for myself. Leadership has taught me to be the one to step up when a leader is needed and to step out of my comfort zone. Service has showed me what all is needed to be done
maintains its prestigious status are my persistence, ambition, compassion, and my strong-willed personality. When I set a goal for myself or the organizations that I am involved in, I ensure we reach that goal. I never give up, persevering through obstacles in my way. I have a strong drive to succeed. I hold my goals and the activities that I am involved in very close to my heart. I make each and everything I submit to a priority. I make sure my peers and I are all striving and succeeding together. I hold myself and everyone I work with accountable. Lastly, one thing I make sure I incorporate into my daily life is community service. I love giving back and helping those in different communities. Community service is something I do in my spare time. Showing people in the world that there is someone out there that cares about them and their well-being warms my heart. I can add to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in a positive way with my
For scholarship I Also I get good grades and try to be good role model. For example, I took and passed my Global Regents as a Freshmen because I showed readiness by consistently participating and showing good work ethics. Even though I wasn’t in the honors class I felt ready to face the challenge as a Freshmen. What made me want to take to take this exam was to prove it doesn’t matter if you’re in the honors class or not just work hard. I’ve talked to the current and the upcoming freshmen about negative and positive things I went through as freshmen so they don’t make the same mistakes I did or so that they can do the same positive things I did. For leadership, I participate in class and encourage my peers to do the same. I help make sure my peers comprehend what we have learned. In sports, I push my teammates to get better but have fun at the same time. I start practices when my coach is running late and when my coach is out talking to someone I continue the practice. For service, I and my Mosque went out on August 17, 2017, and collect cans of food and a collection for $350 and sent it to Sierra Leone because of the flood /mudslide and for the people who lost their homes and family. We also ran a food drive to give back to the community and helped the homeless. For character, I show all the five words Integrity, Leadership, Courage, Curiosity, Concern and also Brother’s
Ever since my elementary years, I have taken my education and the work I do seriously. My dedication to the qualities of scholarship, character, leadership, and service have helped me during my high school experience as high school was a eye-opener for a young girl with big dreams. A quote that is to mind when I think about what dedication to scholarship and character means to me is one by St. Jerome; “Good, better, best. Never let it rest. 'Til your good is better and your better is best.” I have always gone past the point that is the best I can do in my academics accomplishments, building my character, being a leader, and helping others. I take pride in the fact that I work hard, push myself, and excel
Throughout my three years at Barnegat High School I have strived to be a respectful, responsible and influential student and athlete. I have worked hard to stand out among my peers, be dedicated to everything I do, work towards achieving my personal goals and positively influence those around me. As an individual and a young adult, I believe it is the responsibility of younger generations to work towards being the best version of ourselves we can possibly be and positively contribute to others and our community. Overall, I aspire to be a well rounded individual and character that demonstrates the qualities of respect, citizenship, and responsibility.
Through my experiences, especially in basketball and my classwork, I have been able to be exposed to new things and apply my skills elsewhere in my life. In both sports and school, I have had to work with different people with different mindsets, but have come together as a cohesive team. Even if the team struggled, I still pushed through and did what was necessary for our success. Despite being discouraged at times by failure, I came right back and moved on to the next challenge. High School has helped me develop into a leader; I work towards a goal and help others that are in for the
I do not drink, smoke, or go out to parties. I have a set time that I go to bed for myself so that I can be well rested for school. I make sure that I finish my homework at home, not before class, and I help out my community the best that I can. I do all of this is so that I can keep up my high standing in my town. I committed myself to my town. I sing the national anthem at the memorial day service, I lay flags and pick them up with the veterans, I am also very active in my church. All of this leads back to my academic success, because without my family and friends I would not have the qualities I have now. My mother and father have taught me to be a great leader and to focus on my goals, and being a part of the NHS has been a goal of mine since the seventh grade. I have worked very hard over the years to keep positive people surrounding me and to keep bad influences out of my life, and I will continue it and teach people the importance of keeping positive people in their lives because it can change a
Throughout my entire life I have always sought to be the best version of myself that I can be. I believe that through hard work and dedication anything is accomplishable. From being the valedictorian and starting quarterback at my middle school, my love for academics and sports has motivated me to stay focused in my high school career and onwards.
I believe involvement in and out of school is crucial, and that a strong student must have leadership, perseverance, and focus. First, an important quality to have is to be a leader. Ever since I was younger, leadership has been an important part of my life. From sixth through eighth grade I was team captain of my volleyball teams and lacrosse team, and I won the coaches award all three years for showing responsibility and leadership. Once I got to high school, leadership continued throughout my teams.
My high school career taught me very important lessons in how to succeed in my academics and as a student. I have always been that type of student that
Hello I am Samantha Kennelly, I go to St. John XXIII College Preparatory, for high school. Through out my high school career I discovered three important characteristic about myself: humility, creativity, and leadership. I discovered my humility in my acts of kindness towards others, whether it is raising money for a disabled child to have a semester free of therapeutic horse riding or teaching summer school students how to read, write, and do math. Creativity in my love and appreciation for the arts and being in an independent film along with being accepted into distinguished art for my last year of high school. Lastly, leadership because I took initiative and I went to my school administration and requested a math teacher when we had not
Every since I was a young girl I have invested myself in my academics. I always loved coming home and showing my parents my report cards, because I wanted to show them the effort and diligence that I put forth into my academics. As I grew older that passion never faded, and instead of wanting to get that A to show my parents I found myself wanting to get that A to for myself. As a result, my academic achievements have become one of my most prized accomplishments in my life. Finishing off my final months of senior year I am carrying with me a grade point average of 3.97, and as a result of this I am number eight in my graduating class here at Summerfield. The reason my academics have become my most prized accomplishment is because it shows forth the qualities of effort and determination that I have put forth, and those are qualities that I believe a good leader must
Throughout my years at Xavier and beyond I intend to follow the Xavier Honor Code so I can become a cooperative and responsible person. By being a student at Xavier I notice I will have to take responsibility of my actions and faults. In order for Xavier to trust me and to allow me to continue attending their school, I will have to follow their rules and be respectful. Not only should I do these things, but also I have to respect myself in order to respect others. In following the Honor Code at Xavier I will learn more about others, the school, and myself. The Honor Code will impact my academic and campus life because it will lead my way to the
The importance of character and integrity after high school for me is the basis on how I will treat others and myself. These characteristics do not have to be only personality traits, they can be academic as well. Character is defined as, “The mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual”. Going onto college, as a student I am starting fresh, with new faces, new professors, new atmosphere. Having character is important because it shows that I am who I am, and will respect others who are different. Trustworthiness is a huge part of character. By being trustworthy as I go onto college and get a job after receiving my education, my boss will be sure they hired a good person to work for their company. Respect is also a large part of character.
Currently, as a junior, I feel that the past three of high school have tremendously shaped my character. Arriving at the doorsteps of Manatee High School, I knew little of leadership, or service. To me, high school was and still is a journey. I've learned to give back to those who have helped me. Through various extracurricular activities, I've not only learned to be a team member, but a leader as well.
