Intellectual wellness is one of six dimensions of health that help people achieve a thriving lifestyle. Intellectual wellness is the ability for one to think clearly and use brainpower to meet life’s challenges. There are many examples of using intellectual health whether its real life, a text, or even a movie. Intellectual wellness is a part of a person’s wellbeing that helps a person decide with a clear mind and learning from experiences. One example is from the movie “The Dead Poets Society” from the scene of Neil Perry’s death. Just before the scene of Neil’s death he had an argument with his father about his acting and just before they were finished Neil’s father said “sleep on it”. Unfortunately Neil did not sleep witch lead to Neil committing suicide. Neil did not get any sleep meaning he wasn’t thinking clearly and used poor judgment. I think that this all could have been avoided if Neil got some sleep and started fresh in the morning. In my recent life experience I was working on installing software for my computer and experienced issues at the start. I took a break from my computer after having issues with the install and when I returned I was able to finish it. It helps quite a bit when you take a break from a task and pick it up later. I also had an experience in making a few mistakes in training for the Police Explorers. One mistake I made was during crime scene training where I failed to perform my leadership duties. I got overloaded and did not assign my team with their assignments and after I did I learned from that mistake and will not let it happen again. The second mistake I made was getting ahead of myself and not finishing a task correctly.
