There have been many times where I have not used emotional intelligence one time in particular was one day after having a long rough day at work and when I clocked out to discover some issues that were going on with my family. I try to help keep the peace in my family anyway possible. As far back as I can remember never was taking sides always for peace and unity like my mother who always wanted everyone to get alone to be able to enjoy time together. The situation really took a toll on me because I was upset that my mother had to deal with adults acting like toddlers. Talking to her and praying really helped to relax and get her mind off the situation. When I went home to my husband after all that my body was tired and was feeling very cranky.
My advice to you for a successful relationship is to be open and honest with each other about how you feel. It starts by identifying barriers to effective interpersonal communication.
