What is the main conflict in the story? Peter Skilling dies on a mountain in 2005, under the influence of marijuana. 98 years later he is brought back to life, only to find himself on trial for terrorist offences. How do you know? Because that is one of the biggest part of this story. Discuss the main characters and whether or not they were relatable. Society is in the book is like tense and they are trying to figure out if this guy is a terrorist. What is different about this society than our society? there isn’t really anything that is different. What is the same? We have practically the same society because everyone is worried about terrorist and always trying to figure everything out. Are there “problems” with the society in the story? Yes the problems that are occurring is that they brought him back to life just to put him on trial for terrorism for buying weed. What are the problems? The problem is that they are accusing him of terrorist actions. Are people happy? People are not happy. Why/why not? Because he is being accused of something he didn’t do. What is the overall theme/message of the story? Irvine's great triumph in this story is to make us realise that, far from being an unlikely future, this vision is only a step away. It is both a warning and a stand against taking that route. Peter Skilling is unashamedly partisan in its outlook and it will no doubt offend some, but this is within the finest tradition of social science fiction.Use details!
