In our english 12 class, we have to write an argumentative essay on either Is Football too dangerous for high school students or Is college degree worth incurring debt. I chose to do the essay on Is football too dangerous for high school students.
The purpose of this assignment is to make us capable to argue our claims with evidences. Moreover, it also learnt to be aware of the other side of the argument by writing the counter argument.
The things that I want to improve is to make the hook more and more interesting for the reader to get the attention in the first sight. And be better on the counter argument to prove my claim more precisely.
The essay that I have read in class emphasis about how dangerous of a sport football can be too high school students, to college students, and to professional N.F.L players. I have read multiple articles explaining to us how harmful playing football can be. Reading this article's made me think if playing football in high school and in colleges is fine. In my opinion, I do not think students should play football in high school because they have a higher risk of getting hurt. Above all, football is that that harmful to college and professional NFL players as it is too high school students. On the other hand, it is but since they've been playing for a long time they're used to it more than a regular high school student. When it comes to young boys playing football in high school, it could be a little more dangerous. Meaning that since most of the kids in high school are still between the ages of 15 through 18 their brains are still not fully developed. There are three reasons on why I don't think that high school students should not play football. My reasons would have to be because their brains are still not fully developed, they could get hurt and perhaps die, and because students don't have the right equipment to be playing.
5. Evidence 246-271 (Read all the evidence before you begin to take your notes on each individual peice)
Teens been playing sports every day. Boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer and girls’ basketball rounded out the top five in most-dangerous sports. They say that for every 1,000 athletic exposures, football players received 4.36 injuries, the study found. They also say that if teens play dangers sports they can learn. Teens should be allowed to play dangerous sports.
Society has a positive impact on individuals because people help and take care of each other. Three examples are: a video titled “On the Road: Middle School Football”, a poem named “The World Is Not a Pleasant Place to be”, and a book titled The Outsiders. Each of these stories shows how having friends makes our life better. Friends help us to not feel alone and to get us through tough times.
Well first off I wanna say is sometimes is bad and sometimes is not. First i am going to start off with the bad parts and end up at the good parts.
In the three sources we’ve read about whether football is too dangerous for high school students to play in high school, I disagree with its being too dangerous. If playing football is too dangerous in high school, then it should be dangerous for the N.F.L players to play too. They are more aggressive and train harder than the high school players. It can cause lots of concussion. Or even worse injuries than concussions.
workshop 1.5 arguments and nonarguments. The following passages may or may not contain arguments. Identify the arguments. For those passages containing arguments, underline the conclusion. For those that do not, indicate if the passage is an explanation, a conditional statement, a report, or something else. Example: if some fish are warm blooded, such as the Bluefin tuna, then it is possible that some reptiles are warm
Football has been America’s favorite sport for many years now, but there is no question that football is a dangerous sport. Over the past few years, concussions have become a major issue for the NFL and just for the game of football in general. This is mainly due to the new research and findings of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), a brain disease believed to be caused by repeated head trauma such as concussions. The brain of an individual who suffers from CTE gradually deteriorates and will over time end up losing mass (Puiu, 2017). There are four stages of CTE. Stage I of CTE includes headaches and issues related to attention and concentration; In Stage II of CTE, the symptoms expand to include depression, explosivity, and
The use of opposing sources was also well integrated into the overall argument, and the overall paper is objective. However, some of the arguments are not fully clear as they are not surmised and repeated.
Sports is not just a hobby that we do in our free time, it is something that we are passionate about and love doing. There will be times where we all have to take risks to be playing a specific sport, like football. Many teens have had head injuries due to head-to-head contact. There has been a lot of issues bringing up this topic and very contradicting. It has been news reporters have been wanting to know if young teens should risk their bodies to get a brutal head damage. Should football not be played in high school? I think teens should play the sport. Before anyone says that I think that teens should become a part of something dangerous, I do not think people think what “sports” actually mean.
Should there be football restrictions on teens? Lots of football restrictions will change the whole game of football. If the whole game changes lots of people might not be interested in the sport anymore. Having restrictions might change the ways teens play. There should be no football restrictions on teens because this will affect the way the sport will be played these teen players and other people.
Picture having a magnificent day for a good,hard-hitting football game, only to end the day hurt and in pain with no idea what to do.Unfortunately, this happens more than you would think. According to this article about sports injuries, “During the 2013-2014 school year, more than 1.4 million high school student athletes were injured. The latest National High School Sports-Related Injury Surveillance Study shows the most common injuries are strains or sprains, contusions, fractures and concussions” (“Keep Athletes Safe”).This statistics shows that high school students athletes go into games and practices without the common sense to play under control. With more common sense of how to play sports, hopefully athletes would not
