Outline purpose -I want my readers to understand that being a photographer isn’t just a hobby rather a passion.
Thesis; Why is photography a passion and not a hobby?
Photography is a tool we use frequently in our every day, it's considered a hobby for some, a profession for others. Photography is used as a form of communication, used as a tool to send messages worldwide. “I wanted something instead of making people cry all the time I wanted to see them smile.”
Jaynae Silas attended Langston University with the intention of majoring in accounting. Graduating two years before her class it was apparent Ms. Silas excelled in academics especially in mathematics. For a long time, she believed that because she was an outstanding math student, so math must be her passion. Math fascinated her, so becoming an accountant was a no-brainer. Silas's freshman year of college was anything but a breeze; she noticed the workload was heavier, the work more intense than she's ever experienced her high school career. Six months into her sophomore year of college she decides college isn't the place for her. The major challenges of college expectations weren't the breaking point for her, rather the lack of motivation to get out of bed and listen to 2 to 4-hour lecture about some old dead guy she found herself cramming the night before exams because on her free time she spent it doing what she loved, photography. While working part-time at an institution with terminally ill patients who
Photographs are special because you can tell an entire story with them without using a single word, it can convey emotions, and feelings. Photographs make connections, photographs can show challenges in our world along with celebrating the greatness in the world.
In the fall of 2012, I enrolled in North Hennepin Community College to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Accounting consequently awakening my thirst for learning. Majoring in accounting was an easy choice since I had a background in bookkeeping and I have always enjoyed working with numbers. My goal when I first enrolled in North Hennepin was to acquire an Associate’s Degree, and join the workforce, however, as I progressed closer to finishing my course there, I realized I wanted a Bachelors’ Degree since I enjoyed challenging myself and learning material that was critical to my career.
Photography is one of the best things mankind has invented. It helps us capture the beauty of the world around us to save it for future use and make certain events timeless and memorable. But over time, photography has evolved out of its normal boundaries and has transcended into an art by itself.
Since the camera was invented in 1826, it has been used to document everything from social injustice, inequality, famine, war, and human rights abuses to uplifting scenes of humanity, brotherhood, victory, love and hope (Ferdous). Throughout the years society has come to realize the true potential of a photograph and its ability to acknowledge the truth through intense and thought provoking imagery. The camera has helped journalists be able to connect with society in a way that was unique. The creation of the camera gave journalist the ability to communicate through the use of pictures. This newly found aspect made it possible for others to see exactly what the photographer has seen. With this ability photojournalism was created.

The photograph is a very powerful medium. The French painter Paul Delaroche exclaimed upon seeing an early photograph “from now on, painting is dead!” (Sayre, 2000). Many critics did not take photography seriously as a legitimate art form until the 20th century. With the
When an artist paints, he puts all his emotions into the stroke of his brush. Same application can be made of a photographers. When a professional photographer takes a photo they think of all their emotions and ideas, so that all things come together in harmony. When photography was first created it changed the world because it was capable of showing the world as it is. Instead of hearing stories from people, people were actually able to see for themselves.
Photography serves many purposes and since its invention people have used it for many different reasons, but mostly for
Through the lense of any camera bestowed upon me, I find it my duty to capture the beauty in the things around me. While in college I hope to learn the fundamentals of Photography, gain more practice and become a professional photographer. My passion for photography is strong and I’ve been able to get a lot of experience with the camera in and out of school. I've photographed events for my church, I’ve been in the multimedia program at my school for three years as well the school yearbook. I’m currently the Editor in Chief. While traveling with my camera I hope to meet new people which will allow me to learn about new cultures and their traditions. I’ll be able to get a real life experience by eating, speaking and living how other
Furthermore, the “selfie” or digital image seeks to represent a moment of time or fun that does not prove to be an authentic representation of one self. Moreover, it can be eluded from the text that self portraits are the art and the selfie or “digital” image is the human need. The text elaborates this ideology, stating “…digital photography has
While others claim that photography captures the inner soul of a person, or deliberately defines it as painting or writing with light, but in my case, it is just simply a newfound love hobby. I undeniably adore and look up to expert photographers I encounter down the road may it face-to-face or the other way around. In my heart, I silently desire that someday, with hard work, determination, and perseverance, I will become professional and famous as they are. Since my husband bought a Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) as an anniversary gift, my penchant for photography commenced and ignited. Let me detail the essential truths behind my passion over photography.
Since its inception, photography has been used to capture moments in time all around the world. This wonderful technology has existed since ancient times, and has only improved in recent history, changing society in the process.
While some people pursue photography as a career, others are involved in the same as a hobby. Regardless of the reason for pursuing photography, it is important for one to possess the relevant skills and experience. In this way, the individual will be able to register progress as a professional photographer. At the same time, those who pursue the same for fun will be in a position to enjoy the activity more. In line with this, photography courses prepare students for different posts in the vast field of photography. Although all classes will see one learn the basics of photography, students will, later on, have an opportunity to specialize in specific areas.
I chose this photo because I want to travel the world and take photos of every appealing sight I see. I have always wanted to go to Paris to see the Eifel tower and I can use photography to capture the moment. This photo shows all the opportunities I am going to have to travel the world and to show off my work. I can adapt to any situation so I know traveling won’t be a hard thing to do. It also shows my creativity and how observant I am. Because I am such a creative person I don’t prefer to work a nine to five job. I want to be a photographer but I also want to be in video production. I want my work to have a purpose and be influential to other people.
Photographing has been enjoyed by many people for a long time. Today, it is very easy for everyone to own a camera so this hobby is becoming more and more popular. Everyone like taking photograph but their photo is not always beautiful. Having an expensive camera does not mean that you will have wonderful photographs. The beauty of a photograph
