Is The American Dream Still Possible? Anything lower than the upper class is seen as less than desirable in the United States. Being lower than the middle class is devastating to many people because of the cost of living in the US. In America, there have been many inequalities that led people to give up on this dream. Many people have to live paycheck to paycheck to get by, but because of prices that continue to rise by the minute, it won't be long before that doesn't work anymore. Today, many people can’t live a comfortable or relaxing life like they were promised in the Declaration of Independence. If some of the main definitions of the American dream are success, money, and education, why is it so hard and expensive to get there even if you work for it your whole life?
