ISIS existence in the Middle East ISIS is a Salafi group that follows an extreme interpretation of Islam and promotes religious violence. ISIS has been on a running climb to power and control in the Middle East. The rise of Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the Islamist militant group that has took over huge parts of land stretching from northern Syria to central Iraq, and it has struck fear into the hearts of leaders around the world. The main reason ISIS is so terrifying and trending the world right now is because that the group ISIS aims to bring back the early days of Islam, rejecting all other religions. They also seek to bring back the original Wahhabi project of the restoration of the caliphate governed by strict Salafist doctrine. ISIS have done outrageous things that walks over all human rights and they are an extremely dangerous threat on democracy all over the world. If ISIS have their way, people have a choice of either joining them or suffer extreme consequences.
The reason why ISIS is so dangerous to democracy because of its geographic location. ISIS’s main base is located in Baghdad which is the capital of Iraq. Since they have established their location, they have been on a mission to take over as much as land as possible and they have chose to go North West. Now assuming that they do get their way, not only Turkey would be under the control of ISIS, who are a big alley for the united states. They
Islamic States of Iraq and Sham ISIS, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, al Qaeda in Iraq, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Islamic State, Da’ish is an active group formed c. 2014. ISIS is a terrorist group that sole purpose is pushing their beliefs on others and if their religion isn’t accepted in the appropriate way (how they expected) they then result to violence. Da’ish is the official name of the terrorist group known as ISIS, dramatically arrived and shocked many people in the West. The horrifying and violent events that have occurred since the appearance if ISIS struck fear into the hearts of people all across the world. Even though fear is an extreme emotion, the hatred that came with it is even stronger and is more Ernest.
ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. It is referred as a terrorist group by the United States, whereas ISIS considers themselves to be an army instead. ISIS has been responsible for many gruesome attacks all over the world one of them being the execution of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh. They originated from Al-Qaeda in Iraq but they had big ambitions by kicking America out and setting up an Islamic state. To this date hold their land there unlike other groups like Al-Qaeda and Taliban. They have a huge support from people as their count being over 30,000 soldiers and followers. They are heavily armed, can fund themselves, have an organized infrastructure, and can cause a lot of damage. Later in 2006, their brutality lost them the support of Iraqi Sunnis who partnered with US forces to help push them out of the country. And for this incident, America takes a lot of credit for this and call it the Surge in which they helped Sunnis rise up against Al-Qaeda in Iraq’s rule. This led to Al-Qaeda in Iraq being defeated but not destroyed by only being driven out of the land they used to control and later they began rebuilding themselves by being involved in the fighting in Syria as they were trying to throw the Shiite Assad regime. Due to their brutal and severe tactics, Al-Qaeda disavowed Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Later in February 2014, the group Al-Qaeda in Iraq
2. Isis is an Iraqi terrorist group who is trying to gain more control over the war torn country. The group has “a reputation for brutal rule in the areas that it controls”(CNN). Many innocent civilians have been killed due to the inhumane acts that this group has committed. They have been named “the most cash-rich militant group in the world”(CNN).
The Isis ideology consists of the restoration of the caliphate of early Islam, and pledging allegiance to it. Robert Spencer, a journalist, defines the caliphate in his article “The Caliphate Restored,” in which he says the caliphate was the center of the Muslim community, which consisted of a caliph, a chosen person from the most pious and capable men of the community, who was considered to be the political, military and religious leader. He ruled according to the dictates of the Sharia (Islamic law), implementing Allah’s decrees of justice on earth. The caliphate was later abolished by the Turkish government, causing The Muslim Brotherhood to form (2014). ISIS regards to maintain the purification of Islamic society, they must fight non-Muslim countries, and in some cases,
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant are more commonly known to the public as ISIS, they also referred to ISIS by media corporations as well. ISIS has combined with a few terrorist groups in the past but has also not made friends with other groups. “Finally, in April 2013, the leader of the ISI, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, announced in an audio message that his group merged with Jabhat al-Nusra (JN) in Syria to form the “Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham.””(Price, 2014). It was also noted in the same article that because they merged with another group that it did not sit well with other people and groups. ISIS appears to have a history with groups coming and going into the mix. While it’s not very known what their ideology is, you can very well establish your own perception based off their actions. Just based off incidents I have seen in the past and recently, they are very violent and will attack anyone who isn’t on their side from civilians to military personnel. “ISIL’s goal is to solidify and expand its control of territory and govern by implementing its violent interpretation of sharia law. The group aspires to overthrow governments in the
People wonder why many west people would join ISIS the enemy of their nations. To answer how ISIS recruits, Allessandria Masi article claims that ISIS recruits in the west through social media. News articles claim have headcounts from U.K., Canada, and the U.S. They are working hard to catch and stop these recruitment strategies. The people who have been caught and analyzed trying to join the radical group have been declaring to join because they believe "Allah", the Islam god wants them too. Also according to an article called "ISIS recruiting Westeners" other reasons that have been found repeat among people include; [parental issues, are Teenagers, [pressure], and because of the popularity among peers. ] With ISIS recruiting daily and obtaining resources it has been able to make tragic attacks, including i big one on Paris. This was recent and riled up France and other countries. The event was tragic, was seen as act of war, and caused many people to open their eyes to the dangers and ruthlessness of ISIS. "Friday the 13 of November by gunmen and suicide bombers hit a concert hall, a major stadium, restaurants, and bars almost simultaneously - and left 130 people dead and hundreds wounded," says BBC news, and an article by Andrew Soergal, an Economy Reporter says, [ISIS gets its money through Tax, seized Oil Refineries, Stolen artifacts sold on the black market, criminal enterprise, taking over banks, (nonrenewable resources), burglary, and donations from private supporters from all around the world.] Also in his article he includes that eventually all of ISIS' non renewable resources will run out and they will go bankrupt, but he also concludes that we can not wait this long. ISIS is a threat that can't be taken lightly. The information I have provided could be useful in the near
In today’s world, a horrible and tragic conflict is caused by the terrorist group called ISIS. ISIS stands for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and it is a terrorist group led by Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi. ISIS is made up of fundamentalist Sunni Muslims and foreign Jihadists. Back in 2011, a civil war broke out in Syria in response to efforts to overthrow Bashar Al-Assad, Syria’s dictator at the time. ISIS quickly decided to take advantage and resulted in controlling a vast territory in Syria and Iraq. ISIS have been proved to execute prisoners of war, enslave minorities, and rape thousands of women and young females. ISIS wants to set up as what they view as a “pure” Islamic state. ISIS embrace a very tragic and violent version of the religion Islam.
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, also known as ISIS, is a Sunni militant group, and also the most barbaric and violent terrorist group ever to exist. ISIS is also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL). This group has quickly advanced and seized its territory in Iraq and Syria. They can be found in many nations such as Syria, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, and Algeria. They are ruthless and savage-like; beheading, cutting off hands, and murdering many, many people as if it was their daily ritual.
The Islamic state of Iraq and Syria or Isis for short is a radical jihadist group from the middle east. The goal of this group is to convert everyone to an extreme version of Sunni Islam, whether the person wants to or not. Anyone who doesn’t convert
ISIS is very dangerous to the whole world. Who is ISIS? ISIS is an archaic Sunni militant group. They want to create their own own government and base it off the Laws of the Quran. They sadly planning to annihilate or convert the people who do not have the same belief system as them. There are different branches of Islam which the largest groups are Sunni and Shia and the further more splits. ISIS is part of a Sunni branch know as the Salafist, who prefer to return to antiquity teachings. They are considered terrorists by different countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the United nations.
The movement of ISIS in the middle east over the last two years has drastically increased. Some of the most recent occurrences of Isis activity are Recently in Bombing in Yemen Mosque, A suicide bomber and a car bombing claimed by the State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, killed at least 20 people at a mosque in Yemen's rebel-held capital. Furthermore on August 28, 2015 ISIS destroys yet another ancient ruin. Another attack was a massive car bomb, injuring nearly 29 people and blowing the walls off buildings. The latest victim of ISIS was one of Syria's top antiquities experts. He was devoted to exploring and preserving the ancient ruins. Recently Rebels Seize Abu al-Duhur Air Base in Idlib From Syrian Forces. Al Qaeda-linked rebels in Syria
This topic is relevant today because it is happening today. With the rise of the terrorist group, ISIS, we wonder what will happen to the world and if WW3 could happen. So if we learn from our mistakes, we can pass it and try to stop the newest threats today. History will repeat itself if we do not learn from it. We have a group that is ruthlessly slaughtering people, which is like the Nazi’s did to the Jews. So the topic is relevant today because if we do not learn from history, it will repeat itself, so by learning from this terrible time on the world, we can stop the new groups that might do the same thing.
“The panicked reactions, fanned by right-wing politicians in the United States and Europe, to ‘declare war’ on the Islamic State are mostly just noise. None of those proposing that kind of response offer the slightest idea of how it would be done; all they have is an understandable desire, which we share, to obliterate the terrorist group also known as ISIS,” wrote the New York Times editorial board. Syria fell under a French Mandate after the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire following World War I, and then struggled to achieve independence. The Assad family used repressive police state measures to ensure a stable government in Syria. An increase of opposition caused Bashar al-Assad to inflict more brutality and dictatorship.
Isis is causing many issues politically for tons of countries. Isis became a threat in 2014 when they took over a town called Mosul. Ever since then they have been taking over different areas of europe especially in syria and iraq. Isis is now a big problem for Europe. This past year 2016, Isis has had big attacked across Europe and America. For example paris and orlando.
