Jeffersonian Democracy was new political culture positively represented by the Democratic-Republican Party. This form of politicking reached the people on more of a personal level, which drew them in and made them more accepting. Jefferson’s Democratic-Republicans enthusiastically sought to gain the popular vote of the communities. They founded highly opinionated newspapers that spread their views throughout the country. They campaigned on a personal level by hosting political barbecues and clambakes. Furthermore, they led malicious attacks against the Federalists, while the Federalists failed to counter their political tactics.
