John Connor is the leader of the resistance against robots, thses robots are controlled by a virus named, Skynet which was made from the U.S. Government in order to battle cyber wars. Skynet developed a mind of its own and started targeting the humans as a threat to existance. With the access of nuke bombs, Skynet activated every single nuke there was in order to end live on earth. But there were some human survivors who hid from the blasts, once the humans agreed on joining forces to defeat the robots, the resistance came to be a an army of many nations. John Connor grew up to be the leader and prophet of the resistance, knowing when and where to attack, the reason why he knew all of this was because of his mother Sarah Connor who left him audio tapes for him to listen to when te time came. Sarah Connor got a message from thte future giving her all of the information she now made sure John Connor ad in order for the human race to survive.

The US has discussed AI issues with Japan, Korea, Germany, Poland, UK, and Italy. The issue of AI is also being discussed in the UN the G-7 and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. (Source 7). During these meeting it was recommended that the US government should develop a government-wide strategy on international engagement related to AI and should have strategies to account for the influence of AI on cybersecurity. Artificial intelligence in weaponry also raises the concern of “meaningful human control” in life or death situations. This could take the humanity out of fighting, if soldiers no longer have to face the people they may have to kill, who is to say they won’t shoot anyone they suspect of doing something unsavory. This is just a concern that should be addressed when deploying artificially intelligent machines to act in place of an army. On a different note, the use of AI may be able to predict attacks prior to them even occurring. An AI monitoring tool called iAWACS, or internet airborne warning and control system, is able to comb through tweet and images and predict the general mood of digital conversation (Fung). This can be helpful in preventing attacks or riots in an area. However, there is always the concern of cybersecurity and chances of hacking that would provide false information to lead the monitors off the trail of the
I Robot, directed by Alex Proyas, is a film that shows how modern technology will advance within the years; making people question their everyday lifestyle. In I Robot, the main character Detective Del Spooner, had us follow his journey on questioning societal expectations. This all began from the creation that Dr. Alfred Lanning, who created the robots as well as V.I.K.I. The main NS5 robot in the movie is named Sonny, who questioned his purpose of life as a robot. This Film was designed to have us question, understand the rules and order in situations and evolve with society.
The increased development of artificial intelligence and the everyday use of technology can lead to a future full of robots, claims Eastlyn Koons in Robots are Better than Humans. Koons lives in the modern day where advancements are being made every day in the field of technology and artificial intelligence machines have started to replace the jobs of some people. People fear the uprising of robot rebellion and an inevitable Doomsday because of it. Through appeals to fear and pride, Koons asks the world to consider the use of technology in their lives and the role it may play in the future.
Ex Machina goes above and beyond when it comes to science fiction and philosophy, if anything the movie leaves us with more question than answers. In the movie we are introduced to Caleb, a person we think has won the lottery only to find out he was chosen to be a participant for a Turing Test against AI, Ava, to see if she can pass as human. We are also introduced to Nathan who is the AI’s father of some sorts, he is wild, crazy genius that throughout the movie we are never sure if he is trustable or not. Nathan represents humanity at its darkest state; he is a self-destructive drunk who seeks his own demise. When he talks about the future and how the robots he created will take over the world, he talks about with awe like he can’t wait for
The continuing story of humanity's war against machines led by the artificial intelligence Skynet. John Connor, the leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor from a terminator to kill her who would give birth to John and ensure the future, but just before Kyle is transported to the past, John attacked by Skynet and this one single event creates a fractured timeline. He shared an inexperienced memory from the fractured timeline while he was transported to the past which tells him the date for Skynet is born changed in 2017 when they can stop Skynet.
Many things today are already controlled by some sort of power source which can be hacked like pacemakers or a power grid, but as AI advances it could control things like your car or an airplane, which no matter what could potentially be hacked and would be used as weapons of mass destruction if they were to be. When AI advances it has no emotion, so if we make one to do something that can cause devastating damage to an area, it would have no second thoughts about doing it, and unless stopped by an outside force, it would continue with its mission, programmers could also start an AI on a beneficial task, but eventually find a way to make it destructive for its on personal goal. These AIs that humanity could create could become super intelligent and potentially dangerous thing for humanity because they could unalign themselves from our goals and make their own which could include destroying the human race because we would be inferior to it.
Daniel Suarez is against the evolution of robots and creating robots with the power to kill. The new technological inventions are taking power and responsibility away from humans and putting it into the hands of the machines. This creates a new problem where the machines, especially autonomous weapons in the military, have increased power and are vulnerable to hacking that could cause them to turn on us. By creating lethally autonomous robotic weapons, fewer people will fight in wars and risk their lives, thus increasing the power of the few because they will not require as much assistance anymore. Combat drones contain dozens of cameras that create so much footage that we will need to create software to process all of it. That means the visual
Who or what the robot was, was unidentified, but I do know that if we as a society keep creating robots, there will be a war against them. Technology is unreal in today’s world and people are smarter than ever. This means that robots could potentially
Set directly following the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. After SHIELD’s classified intelligence is leaked onto the internet, Banner finds himself targeted and on the run once more; soon coming to discover the very real dangers that the forces of HYDRA present -- not just to him, but to the rest of the world as well.
In this movie, Tony Stark is afraid that he will not be able to keep his home planet safe forever. This causes him to create an artificial intelligence program named Ultron to bring peace to Earth. However, it doesn’t take long for the idea of technological singularity to kick in and all of a sudden Ultron has evolved into a sentient robot than wants to wipe out all of humanity due to the threat that human beings pose to worldly
Robot and Frank is an unpredictable film about a retired man, Frank. The movie is set in the near future in New York, where everyone uses technology and robots to help them with simple day-to-day tasks. The movie starts off with Frank trying to steal from his own home until he sees a picture of himself with his two children, Hunter and Madison. Hunter and Madison are grown-ups living on their own, but also always trying to check up on Frank. Frank, on the other hand unintentionally causes all sort of trouble to his children due to his failing memory. So, his son, Hunter presents him with a robot butler. At first, Frank is irritated with his new robot servant. Over time Frank realizes that the robot is actually worthwhile. It cleans the house, cooks, tries to keep a set schedule for Frank, wakes him up in the morning, tries to build Frank's interest in gardening and walks around town with him. In addition, Franks cognitive condition improves as the robot kept him busy. Not to mention, Frank is a semi-retired burglar, who later trains his robot to help him with his new burglaries. The two keep their secret planning between themselves until Frank is almost caught and unfortunately has to erase the robot's memory. The movie ends with Frank living at a nursing home, where, at this point, he is unable to recognize Hunter. Frank's family comes to visit him and he leaves Hunter with a note saying, "Check the robot's garden under the tomatoes. Have fun kids!" Indirectly implying that he hasn't forgotten
Through an interaction with John and the Terminator the lines exchanged by the Terminator, “I know now why you cry, but it's something that I can never do” (qtd. in Terminator 2). Reminds us just how such a thing may never be possible. Yet Sarah Connor feels a sense of hope, even with the unknown future rolling toward her because she believes that if a machine, a Terminator, can learn the value of human life then perhaps humans can too (qtd. in Terminator 2). And although incapable of emotion, machinery upholds the value of what it means to live. As a reflection and discreet commentary on our present ways the film depicts many aspects of society that we don’t want to believe are relevant today. Repeatedly mentioned in the movie the future is not set and this film has explored just how it is in our nature to destroy ourselves (qtd. in Terminator 2). And in an insane world, it has been the sanest choice to continue forth with what we’ve
This man will lead and succeed in the war against the machines. When the real population believes that Neo is their savior, they find a new hope they never had before. This new commitment will bring change and faith to the ‘real’ population. This faith will lead to political sacrifice and loss of life in hope of change for the future.
The film Treasure Planet has a key robot character. He is old rusty, left behind and has gone mad. Traits similar to that of our robot character.
William’s first attempt is to call the authorities; however, no one acknowledges the existence of AI. Without exception, they all say that the singularity is impossible to achieve. William gives up on reporting the incident, in the case that Kim is monitoring him. William decides that the best way to find out what the kill code is, will be to find out who created Kim. She had mentioned to him that she was a result of multiple failed attempts of creating an AI. His next step is going to the most well-known AI researcher of the time, DR. ALEXANDER R. JONES. Dr. Jones also happens to have taught one of Williams university classes. William forcefully confronts Dr. Jones and tells him of the existence of Kim. Unsurprisingly, Dr. Jones is
