According to Johnston, M., & Marshall, G. (2009) there were some problems that occurred because there was no sales manager in charge of the sales team for DSI.
There were 3 situations in particular that I believe the guidance of a good sales manager could have made all the difference in the world. The first was the fact that members of the sales team were calling on random doctor’s offices. DSI was really pushing the EBT scanners. The EBT scanners were only used by certain types of physicians, so there was a lot of time being wasted trying to sell them to the wrong market. A good sales manager would have known this and disseminated that information to his sales force.
The second situation was that from time to time the salespeople would end
John Proctor has just witnessed his wife, Elizabeth Proctor, arrested for attempting to murder Abigail. She was arrested after Herrick found a needle impaled in the belly of the poppet, the same region where Abigail claimed she was stabbed. In this scene, Proctor is angrily moving towards Mary Warren and demands her to tell the truth about the poppet and the person responsible for sticking the needle in the stomach. Mary denies telling the truth because she is afraid that Abigail will be incited to kill her and possibly charge Proctor for carnality. Additionally, Mary knows the power that girls such as Abigail have now acquired and their uses for it will be towards vengeance. If Mary were to anger these girls, they might turn on her and accuse
“I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang.” John Proctor is the protagonist of the Crusible, though for the first two acts, he does little to effect the flow of the story as the reader is introduced to their setting. One is thrown into Salem village as the sparks of accuzations begin to fly setting ablaze paranoya in the name of witchcraft. Abigail Williams, our antagonist uses a lie to cover up her mistakes and decides to get something out of it when she discovers that people are ignorant enough to believe her. She takes the chance to throw allegations of witchery onto John’s innocent wife, Elizabeth. The thrust behind this action comes from the fact that a year earlier she had found her way into John Proctor’s arms and with his wife out of the picture, they could dance together on her grave… though Abigail had been in his arms, she had never been in his heart. Abigail would loose complete control of her seemingly simple scheme as she would loose her only purpose she had left in life- John. John Proctors downfall occurs before our story ever begins. We watch his once stregnths become his weaknesses. The standards he held for himself were shattered and he fumbled in picking up the pieces. His downfall did not end his story, but began it as he would have to rebuild his honor and self respect when it mattered the most.
Dramatic tragedies often result in an unhappy ending. In a tragedy the flaws of a main character brings about their downfall. A tragic hero has the power and respect, but struggles with a tragic flaw which he or she later acknowledges. Though there are many tragic heroes in The crucible, John Proctor has characteristics that best exemplify a true tragic hero. Like all tragic heroes, John has a tragic flaw which he struggles with but in the end, he recognizes his flaw and takes responsibility for his actions.
John proctor is faced with many moral challenges throughout the play. Proctor is faced with many life changing decision in the play, and one wrong mistake could end his life life and his wife’s. However proctor shows great courage in the play, when he tears his confession up, which in the end would save his life. One life changing moment proctor had was not life threatening but life changing, and it was to die telling the truth to others, himself, and to God.
A Tragedy as a literary Work is described in which there is a hero that is basically moral individual destroyed by some character flaw and by force beyond his or her control. That hero is a tragic hero who experiences an inner struggle because of this flaw. Because of his charter flaw and his struggle to do what is right, John Proctor is a tragic hero.
The motivation of the sales force is so low that they think that the district managers are no more that the baby sitters. No right schedule is being released by the management, there is no sales management planning in the organization. The leadership runs from the top. The employees just want to make sales without having concern about the company in that they work. Moreover, the uncertain night calls and long distance travels for the reps and frequent changes in the sales organizational structure has made problem even worse.
"How may I live without my name? I have given you my soul; leave my name!" (Proctor) John Proctor a farmer, and the husband of Elizabeth. He had an affair with Abigail Williams while she worked as a servant in his house. John is a powerful man in both build and character. " John Proctor is a tormented individual. He believes his affair with Abigail irreparably damaged him in the eyes of god, his wife Elizabeth, and himself. True, Proctor did succumb to sin and commit adultery; however he lacks the capacity to forgive himself." (www.cliffsnotes.com) John Proctor goes from being loved and well respected to a sinner and later on becoming a tragic hero which was surrounded by strong feelings and beliefs.
All countries with different morals and different religions deal with vices and virtues. What seems to be good is not always the best decision, therefore causing a struggle in judgement and righteousness. For instance, Kohlberg’s Stages can be utilized as a reference to compare the one’s moral development. In The Crucible by Arthur Miller, the character John Proctor was once a sinful man who comes to be a virtuous person because of the growth of his values in order to be a better Puritan because of the troubles he goes through to protect his wife, confessing his lechery, and ripping up the paper that confessed his association with the devil.
Throughout the play, we are introduced to a variety of characters and each has their own story to tell. Each of these characters has their own motives as to why, they do or do not believe in witchcraft. Also each has various reasons as to why they have accused one another, even if their motives may have dark hidden secrets behind. Most of these characters though have one motive in common their reputation. Throughout this essay we will analyze three different characters and their motives and how they have changed the way they may act for the sake of their reputation.
The driving factor behind the events of The Crucible is the religious instructions that the society of Salem is based upon. The populace of Salem were Puritans. From dusk to dawn they ate, slept, and breathed Christianity. Their science, history, and any other form of education was biblically based. The very book that founded their reality talks of demons, magic, witches, and curses. Puritans were raised under the credence that Satan and his devils wait around every corner, salivating at the opportunity to rip you away from your means of salvation, your savior, and your God. Being associated with such evil, through accusation of witchcraft or general impurities, leads to the out casting and inferiority of both the individual and their associates. Fear of being treated as a lesser human being is enough to terrify anyone in the 21st century, let alone a member of an ignorant, superstitious community in the year 1692. With these facts in mind, it should not surprise us that Abigail chooses/is easily able to shift the consequences of her alleged, supernatural transgressions onto Tituba, Elizabeth, Rebecca, and anybody else in her way.
Jacobson first consulted Dan Gunther who was in charge of the Boston Division. Jacobson consulted Gunther due to his fifteen-year experience with the company. He figured he would have the best insight to the sales were stagnant because of his wisdom and experience. Jacobson found out that the flat sales of the Boston branch was due to the irrational/unreasonable demands of their client. Then he contacted the Philadelphia branch. Carol Klein, the key account manager, told Jacobson that the reason of her flat sales was due to personal reasons that were going on in her life. She was having issues juggling her stressful job and taking care of her family as well. Although this is a valid excuse of something that many people struggle with, it should not be negatively affected her work performance. The next sales representative that Jacobson consulted was Mike Wagner in Washington DC. Wagner claimed that he is having a hard time on finding information regarding the present condition of the competition in the market, making it harder for him to compete with the others. This is not only Wagner’s fault for not doing the research, but also upper management’s fault for not informing the employee’s of how to compete with
No matter the rumors or the adultery that you have committed in the past I will always love and care for you just as much. We are here for each other as husband and wife. And I will stand by you through this terrible imprisonment and execution. These past few months have been a struggle as the truth comes out between what happened with you and Abigail but I know I must keep my head held high and know that it was all an accident and that you and I have a bond of love stronger than anything. My love for you is so strong that although you have caused me to lose much faith in you, I feel that you just “Do as you wish, then.” (Miller 51). Whatever I say to you has gone in one ear and out the other. This process of watching you deal
The lack of consistent sales (some quarters having no sale at all) will ultimately put the future health of the company in jeopardy. The owners, who are also the managers are aware of the sales teams activates and the financial requirements needed to operate the company. The owner/managers have not taken any action to address the lack of sales and have not proposed any remedy to change the current status quo.
As Anne Frank once said, “The final forming a person’s character lies in their own hands.” The overall concept of this quote relates heavily to John Proctor, one of the main characters in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. When John Proctor is first introduced into the play, the reader can easily infer that he is a sinful man because of his previous love affair with Abigail Williams. However, as the plot of the story continues to evolve, it is discoverable that John is growing as a person and is willing to take responsibility for his past choices. As the conclusion of the play nears, John does not falter with his actions, as he remains calm and gallant, making the right decision, in high-stress situations. All of these stages of personalities of John’s character are ample evidence as to how John Proctor is a dynamic character.
(1997). We have seen excellent financial results as we have penetrated markets, grown, and had the luxury of economy of scale in our production which has been manageable from a change perspective. Coming from a start-up, though, our sales process is anecdotal in nature and each sales associate is allowed to cover a district within the region using their own approaches. This has led to sporadic tracking of client contacts, client sales, reasons for wins or losses from major distribution proposals, increases/decreases with individual clients, and overall client satisfaction. This lack of a solid database of sales information leads to an inability to identify trends, difficulty in understanding true sales associate performance, and makes management decision making around existing and new products difficult. I recommend that we implement a systematic sales tracking process across all of our sales associates that allows for better understanding of our performance, allows for trending of that performance, and allows for future decisions to be made based upon a stronger base of information.
