Joseph Francis Girzone is a priest. Advised by his doctor to withdraw from administrative work, he immediately set about a new career as a writer and philosopher. Though only 54 years old at the time he wrote the book, his experience as a priest had been unusual. He worked with teenage gangs in New York, and in the local mining area of Pennsylvania. He taught in schools most of his life, and worked in parishes at the same time. He was chairman of a government human rights commission which settled a jail riot and mediated racial tensions in public schools. On numerous occasions, he was called upon to negotiate in prison disturbances.
An author’s personal experience gives authenticity to their text. Peter Skrzynecki, an Australian poet of Polish origin emigrated to Australia shortly before the end of World War II. His assimilation into his newfound homeland is portrayed in his emotive poetry, where he explores his disconnection and alienation. The way in which Skrzynecki writes about his personal experiences gives an authentic insight into the perspective of a migrant, allowing the audience to better understand the challenging emotions evoked by the migrant experience. These emotions are clearly seen in Skrzynecki’s poem St Patrick’s College, where he delves back through his experiences at school and highlights the disconnection and alienation he felt being a migrant. This disconnection is further expressed in Feliks Skrzynecki, where Skrzynecki alludes to his detachment from even his father. These feelings of disconnection and alienation shown by Skrzynecki in his poems, allows the audience to understand the effects of growing up as a migrant.

Over the past seven centuries, there has been a change of power triggering the change in values, culture and politics. These changes benefited some people while it isolated, alienated others. This feeling of alienation sparked the flame to various rebellions. In this essay, I am going to argue how alienation, caused by shifts in value, culture and political, caused specific rebellions during the colonial era, the antebellum era, post antebellum and the civil rights movement.

I hope people know it's not because of Anna.

The world has always been separated by groups and categories. Ethnicity, class, gender, generation, geographic region, interests. These groupings and categories can create great and horrific happenings. They also contribute to ones social standards and preferences. The separation comes from these common interests. Not everyone is the same and has the same beliefs, but the world today is evolving and creating a more globalized unity. This unity could for example allow someone who has grown up in a non-religious household to decide for themselves, due to the appeal of religion and their very own belief system, find themselves in search for a group to share the common interest with. Socialization has also created any individual to aspire to belong and be with people who are the same. Every individual simply wants to belong with people who accept them and follow the same lifestyles. Also you could consider Transgenderism. Another example would be how one might be taught traditionally to be a man or woman yet a male or female might identify with the other sex. Thus they find an accepting community who not only shares their struggle, but their views and perspectives, too. Sociology has formatted itself to apply every aspect of a humans life is why they are who they are. Everything plays a huge role in one individual’s life.
