Karl Marx (1818-1883) was one of the most influential thinkers and writers of modern times. Although it was only until after his death when his doctrine became world know and was titled Marxism. Marx is best known for his publication, The Communist Manifesto that he wrote with Engels; it became a very influential for future ideologies. A German political philosopher and revolutionary, Karl Marx was widely known for his radical concepts of society. This paper give an analysis of “The Manifesto” which is a series of writings to advocate Marx ‘s theory of struggles between classes. I will be writing on The Communist Manifesto, published in 1848, which lays down his theories on socialism and Communism.

Karl Marx was a German philosopher who created an ideology called Marxism. Marxism later on was used to help develop the ideology we know today as communism. Karl Marx was famously known as a socialist revolutionist which later on caused him to be expelled from Germany and France. He moved to London where he wrote “The Communist Manifesto” and “Das Kapital” which explained his ideology.

One of the greatest debates of all time has been regarding the issue of the freedom of mankind. The one determining factor, for Marx, it that freedom is linked with class conflict. As a historian, Karl Marx traced the history of mankind by the ways in which the economy operated and the role of classes within the economy. For Marx, the biggest question that needed to be answered was “Who owns freedom?” With this in mind, Marx gives us a solution to both the issues of freedom and class conflict in his critique of capitalism and theory of communism, which is the ideal society for Marx. His theory of communism is based on the “ultimate end of human history” because there will be freedom for all humankind.

Marx’s most well known piece of work is The Communist Manifesto, which discusses his theories about society, economics and politics , together known as Marxism. Through this pamphlet, it highlights the problem of oppression the working class faces. Has a large effect on the revolution following its publication. Became a foundation for organizations, influenced other radicals and subsequently influx and Communist literature. This specific piece of work not only shocked the society during this time but educated people on the system they were living in.

Together Marx and Engels wrote The Communist Manifesto which according to the document is “…arguably one of the most influential books ever written.” The overall argument of The Communist Manifesto was that the bourgeoisie needs to be abolished so that the proletariat may provoke a revolution strong enough to eliminate the oppression by the bourgeoisie. He is the author to the popular text, “Manifesto of the Communist Party” (1848), where Marx defined communism, discussed how industrial capitalism is evil, alienation versus objectification, liberation from alienation, types of class struggles in society, dialectical materialism, and socialism. Marx have always been harshly criticized for his advocacy of communism, but often times, it’s only because people fail to understand Marx’s communism (Marxism). The communism that modern days’ people came to know of are through the political system of Russia, China, North Korea, Vietnam, among other communist countries, where it’s controlled through absolute dictatorship and human’s freedom is reduced; the rise of state capitalism and crude communism. In this essay, I will define communism based Marx’s definition in his text, “Manifesto of the Communist Party”, and explore why and how communism has been distorted for political purposes.

He is one of the most important people in the history mostly due to his ideas that people refer to as Marxism, which includes many essays and theories about politics and economics. His most famous work is called Manifesto of the Communist party. In this manuscript, along with his friend Friedrich Engels, he states that the best way for a society to develop is through a revolution and struggle in which the working class will rise against the bourgeoisie or the ruling class. They both believed that the damages that a capitalist way of life brings will ultimately lead to a revolution that paves the way for a socialist way of organizing resources and production. This manifest also describes the problems of a capitalist nation and how it allows the working class to suffer. Marxism inspired many political movements such as those in Russia and China. Capital: Critique of Political Economy is also one of Marx’s most notable works which states the many flaws of capitalism and its ties to workers and property rights. Capital proves to be Marx’s stance against classical economists. Classical economists were in support of capitalism and believed that people have the right to own land for their personal gain. Karl Marx was a German philosopher in 1818 through 1883 and he lived during the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was the creation of modern society and the creation of machines where Marx gets his new ideas and beliefs. Marx philosophy was about class struggled and how we progress throughout history of a group conflicted with another group. Marx believed that time drags us to a higher level after every conflicted we had in history also known as a transformed society over time of history, system, and existence. He soon found that his extreme political views kept him from being hired. Marx decided to move to Cologne, where the city's liberal opposition movement was fairly strong.
