Leonard Nimoy: Life Before, During and After Mr. Spock Leonard Nimoy has been one of the most memorable, and predominant, actors of the 1966 original Star Trek series where he was known for playing Mr. Spock. However, there was so much more to Nimoy, both as an actor and a person, than him just playing the intelligent alien on a science fiction television show. Leonard Nimoy has been an actor, singer, photographer, poet, director, and, in more ways than one, a teacher. Leonard Nimoy has been a significant actor because he had a very simple beginning, and then worked hard to recieve any role in Hollywood television shows or movies, which eventually lead to his big break in Star Trek. Nimoy left an impact both in society and the Star Trek community because he was an example of how people who …show more content…
Leonard Nimoy played the first, of many, commanding officers on the bridge of a Starfleet ship or subspace station who was not completely human, and he made the role a success. Nimoy through his portrayal of Mr. Spock also showed to the audience that it was alright to be different from those around them as long as the audience members knew who they were as well, and were comfortable with who they were. Even outside of the Star Trek community Leonard Nimoy made an impact as Mr. Spock, because it showed to other writers, producers, and directors of science fiction that it was possible to have a serious fictional character who does not necessarily look like a human being. Without the creation and portrayal of Mr. Spock some of the most iconic television and movie creatures would most likely never have come to fruition on the big screen, and would have been condemned to exist only as an idea in someone’s head or as a two-dimensional character found only in
Some may say he is intelligent, while others may say he is courageous. Big words are just insufficient to describe this actor/director/screen-writer/producer. This two-time Oscar winner and nominee of numerous awards, has proven that Hollywood is not just a money making workshop, but it offers well profound characters that deserve the attention of connoisseurs. More importantly,
Mr.Spock is one of the crew members on the ship who works in the control room. Hes job is to keep up to date with what is going on and the missions that are happening. He is very logical and unemotional. The way he looks also plays a part with his seriousness. He has no facial emotions to anything that happens. His reaction plays a part to his logos as well. W hen informed that someone has died from the crew another crew member asked why he showed no emotion. He says “ My emotions would not change the fact of this event.” He also shows this in

Robin Williams I believe is one of the greatest all time actors for all of my childhood. Robin Williams had such an amazing impact on the acting industry and i’m very sure brought along many laughs with him in his acting career. He had so much passion in every disney movie he starred in Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Night at the Museum, and Flubber. All of those movies are some of the greatest childhood Disney movies made. Robin Williams bought acting to life and really brought of the stars in small childrens eyes. He was my favorite actor as a child and will always be the most rememberable actor to me.
Will Rogers, another famous comedic director, known for his political satire was a huge hit amongst audiences. Films such as Judge Priest, where he played a rustic politician, was a fan favorite amongst crowds.
He revived it with family-friendly movies like Shrek, The Nutty Professor, and Mulan. The Nutty Professor resulted in a nomination for a Golden Globe. He also won an Academy of Science, Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Award for the role in the film. He was nominated for a BAFTA award following his outstanding voiceover performance in Shrek.
Wilder was an accomplished stage actor as well as a screenwriter, a novelist and the director of four movies in which he starred. (He directed, he once said, “in order to protect what I wrote, which I wrote in order to act.”) But he was best known for playing roles on the big screen that might have been ripped from the pages of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
In a bit over a year and 3 major film roles, he unassisted, transformed the way the world pictures youth and how Hollywood sees its potential uprising actors to superstardom. Although his career as an actor is one of the most brief in Hollywood history, his impact on society
From Saturday Night Live to his most infamous performance of a perpetually intoxicated fraternity member in Animal House, John Belushi has and continues to entertain audiences of various generations. His photograph is one that can often be found adorning the dormitory walls of modern college students hoping to have an experience in college that the cult hero would be proud of. His most recent performance that garnered any kind of critical acclaim, however, was given over thirty years ago with his portrayal of Jake Blues in the comedic classic The Blues Brothers. John Belushi has never been described as a one hit wonder; his most recent performance was given during what many consider the height of his popularity within the media. The

Luckily Orson Welles was taken in by a man named Maurice Bernstein, who fostered his passion for theatre. Despite his challenging upbringing Orson Welles still became one of the most, if not the most important face of our modern media. At only nineteen years old Orson Welles was already at the forefront
The movie Star Trek into Darkness is a futuristic Sci-fi fantasy movie about the people of the Star Trek Enterprise. The Star Trek Enterprise is very similar to NASA in the sense of they want to explore space. This Star Trek movie focuses on Captain Kirk and Commander Spock. The contrast to these two characters is that one is a human and one is half human and half vulcan. Emotional expression is not common in the Vulcan culture meaning it’s not as normal to show much emotion in their culture. Vulcan do have emotions but they are very controlled so they are almost portrayed as robotic people. Though Spock is half human he usually takes after the Vulcan side meaning he is more on the left hemisphere of thinking. This means he is more logical in his thinking and less on the creative right hemisphere. This becomes a increasing problem throughout the series.
Leonard, the main character, is excellently played by Guy Pierce. He is constantly confused, yet still acts in a nonchalant way. Teddy (Pantoliano) and Natalie (Carrie Anne Moss) play puzzling characters, throughout the whole movie the viewer questions, whether they may or may not be Leonard’s friends.
