Three Renaissance Artists
The time between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries became known as the Renaissance. This historic era helped form a time of rebirth in Europe. During this time many people wanted an education in history, science, and grammar. Man’s focus turned away from religion, and it looked at one’s capacities and the world around them. Throughout this time period many noteworthy artists, sculptors, and authors emerged. The paintings and sculptures changed to look more lifelike. Three significant artists emerged in this era. Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello Sanzio, and Michelangelo Buonarroti became important figures in the realm of art during the Renaissance.

The Renaissance was a distinct time period from the middle ages, due to many factors. Some of the factors include, the artist's’ thinking, the style of art, and architecture, and the advancement of education.
The Renaissance changed everyone’s view of the world, in multiple subjects, helping them understand perspective, realize their relation to God, and recognize their beauty, along with the universe’s beauty. The Renaissance was a period in history that began in Italy dating back to around the 1300s. It followed The Middle Ages and was considered a time of “rebirth”. The people of Europe increased much interest in learning, in the arts and in literature. It also provided the world with a big advancement in science and technology. People questioned old beliefs and were able to turn their miseries into optimism. The Renaissance changed man’s view of man in at least four areas: art, literature, astronomy, and anatomy.
Europe during the fourteenth to the sixteenth century was a time period of great cultural and intellectual achievements. This time period was called the Renaissance. Remarkable changes occurred in society during the Renaissance, such as greater awareness of the individual and more appreciation for the arts. Renaissance art reflected new conceptions of the individual that emerged during this time period. For example, individualism, one of the new conceptions, was portrayed through portraits of unique individuals, and literature about human developing their full potentials.

It was an era of cultural growth that was introduced in Italy and was carried on throughout northern Europe lasting the 14th to 17th century. Many artists and scholars of that time period believed that they were contributing in a revival of the ideals and worth of the periods that arrive before them. People in the modern world know mostly the great names like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, etc. These names have become ingrained in culture, so much so that the names have taken on a new persona of four animated turtles. But like any time period these names barely scratch the surface of a cornerstone in the history of art. The renaissance introduced many different and modern ideas but also remained obedient to classical belief. The unique art of the renaissance spread throughout Europe. Northern European art differed tremendously from Italian art.
From the late fifteenth century to the genesis of the sixteenth, a new movement influenced art in Europe, expanding the bleak limits of past art and created some of the most memorable masterpieces in history. The creators of these artworks during these decades of the Renaissance include Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, and Raphael Sanzio. Influenced and sometimes driven competitively by each other, these artists share differences and similarities in their life, art style and techniques, and interests.
The Renaissance was an efflorescence of the arts and changes in many different areas such as political, social, economical, and cultural. It was the rebirth of art, literature, and learning in the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries. It marked the transition from an agricultural to an urban society. The Renaissance ideals emphasized ideas of humanism and human achievement. Artists and writers used realistic techniques, such as perspective, and they believed man should be the subject of study, not God.
Many things changed from Medieval Times to the Renaissance. The catholic church saw it’s reign secede and individualism increase in the minds of the people of the time. Because of this, people in the Renaissance now looked at themselves in a way that was never seen before. Slowly but surely, the whole world changed. The rise in individualism and humanism signified a change in the way people thought about their purpose in life. In the Medieval Times, people believed that they were at the mercy of God, and they had no control over their own bodies or lives. From the change in Medieval Times to the Renaissance, whole fields were changed, especially art and the medical field, because of the rise of the individual and that way of life.
