The documentary “Being Me” produced by Catherine Scott is about young transgender children becoming more comfortable coming out and transitioning at a younger age. This documentary focuses on one main child, her name is Isabella, but they also show older transgender adults and they show a teenager trans. They interview them asking questions about when they knew, how they coped, how their parents and family members reacted, and what they want to do about it in the future. This is an ongoing social issue that seems to becoming more popular.

Do you like being dressed by someone else? I don’t think that a uniform is harder than a simple dress code. In my school pretty much everyone follows the dress code and I do not think it is that hard to follow. A uniform might not be fair to the people who actually follow the dress code. I don’t think it is fair to the parents who have to waste their hard earned money. I think the school should have to pay for the clothes because they are the ones who made the uniform. A lot student and parents might rebel against the uniform and it is going to be way harder than just a simple dress code. I think the school should just make the kids who don’t follow the dress code so that the other kid’s don’t get in trouble for the other kids’ choices.

Generally, people have their own music preferences. One of my personal favorite songs is “All of me” by John Legend, because of the emotional and personal tone the artist produces. Who I am as a person is exclusively defined by the aggregation of the distinctive experiences that compose and distinguish my life. The meaning of being Hispanic goes beyond the word itself. As a Colombian, I’m not just part of a group of categorized individuals; I’m a representation of a long-existing heritage, a vivid culture, and a magnificent history. From the hard-working campesino (farmer) in the ample coffee crops of the extensive Colombian cordilleras, to the innovative empresario (entrepreneur) in the capital of Bogotá, to the determined artesano (craftsman) working along the Atlantic coast, being Colombian means sharing a culture, a heritage, a history with other individuals- more than that, it’s an ideal of fraternity, of brotherhood.

First, you need to look at how students are directly affected by this policy. Being a student myself, I know that the school years are a journey into adulthood. In that time, we're expected to learn to make our own decisions. However, restricting us to wearing uniforms hinders that process and takes away our ability to choose. The clothing that we wear is part of our identity, and dressing us alike only masks it.

Some people believe that having kids dressing the same way, is fitting for the students, and maturely appropriate. Yet, most kids can disagree otherwise. Having students wear the same clothes every single day, with limited options, forces the students to not think creatively when they are choosing clothes to wear. Especially, when most kids don’t like wearing uniforms. “ Kids like choosing what they would like to wear because, the clothes they wear help suit their personality. Students don’t have to feel insecure or in denial about what they are forced to wear.” (Smith 14, “The Horrors of Uniforms”)

I liked my school uniform. I think it makes you feel part of a group, that you belong to a place or something like that. Of course, not all the uniforms are comfortable, and some of them are awful. Also, it could be a good option to people with limited resources because they won't have to be thinking what to wear the next day. The uniform that I hated the most to wear was the one that worn for my practice because it was very tight. I just got home and I undressed. Luckily I do not have to wear a uniform to go work or to go to college because I do not like to wear formal clothes or being so tightly.

I am cared for by a single hard working mother. She works over 72 hours consecutively as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). Our household consist of my 2 month old brother, my mother, and myself. I have an older brother who passed away from a fatal motorcycle accident approximately 3 years ago. We reside on Martin Luther King Jr. Street on the east side of Boynton Beach. Many would label my community 'ghetto', unstable, and non prosperous. To top it off, I am a young, black, woman. Throughout my time on earth I've never let these factors define who I am and what I am capable of accomplishing; however, my society does. We live in a world today where the most malicious people hold power and the justice of laws aren't enforced. I am aware of the criminals

Have an option of what to wear every day can be stressful, but also a competition of who’s wearing what at school. I think that [uniforms are] going to help with some issues at school like kids making fun of others for their clothing. Kids will tease each other because of their clothes not being the most in style or the kid not having much of a variety of clothing to pick from. Well..uh..so students like to express themselves through what they wear or um you know their style and things like that so of course they are normally going to be um protest are a dislike of wearing them because they can’t show their creativity, or they can’t show their style, or they can’t show their personality through their clothing so that’s why most of them hate the uniforms (Alexander). Students should be able to wear what they want to express themselves but sometimes this can become a problem. Regular clothes and uniforms can be harmful to both side, but the thing is, children

Uniforms takes our right to express ourselves. Students should be allowed to wear outfits that let them express their personality. I for one believe that nobody would like to wear outfits to school that boring and dull. Also because if students wear uniform some of the students will think that they do not look good and that will cause them to keep on thinking about what will others think of them and it will maybe cause them to have very low self esteem and cause them to start becoming isolated and become an introverted person.

Many people would say serving in the United States Armed Forces is a very commendable thing to do. But a part of being a solider is wearing a uniform. How many times have you looked at a soldier and said, “Why do they have to wear those uniforms” or “Why aren’t they allowed to show their individuality through their clothes”? Robert Baden-Powell once said, “The uniform makes for brotherhood, since when universally adopted it covers up all differences of class and country.” So why can’t we look at school uniforms in a way that brings students together? Although the average student’s uniform may not be the ideal fashion statement, it eliminates many unnecessary distractions or risk that could arise at school.

Uniform encourages students to have a sense of belonging and of being part of a community. Every morning students wear their uniform, it evokes them to think of their school
