Dear, Alberta Ministry of Education My name is Victor Smith, and a recent graduate from Lacombe Composite High School. I think that it is okay to bring a phone in school and in class, but the teacher should only give the students one minute to look at their phone so that they will not get distracted while the teacher is teaching. Most of the things we do in our everyday lives includes phone, phone also helps us to search for information, I think phone should only be allowed when you have something to search on subject related. Most people think that phones are a bad thing, sometimes I do too but when you look at it at another perspective it is not so bad at all phone help us to communicate to other without talking to them face to face,
According to the article "Hang it up" by Jesse Scaccia, a former public school teacher, cell phones should not allow in school because the are a distraction for both students and teacher students using cell phones in class tend to have short attention spans and this could lead to doing poorly in their classes. In addition, cell phones are actually a status of symbol for many students, who seem to care more more about their social life rather than learning. On the other hand, parents and students advocate for cell phones in school for safety reason. Finally the author points out that parents needed to worry about other problems in their children schools not cell phones. I believe cell phone in schools should be use for an emergency situation however, using
Hello, I am Madi P, a student here at Ecole Lacombe Composite High School I am writing you in regards of being accepted into the 20-1 class next fall.
Hmm, phones in the classroom! What do you think? That is a debate between billions of people in the world today. Children all over the world have phones, but they can not have them out during school hours. Cell phones are important to so many kids and adults. These devices have been around for so long, and many people can not live without them. All around the school campus, students are miserable without their phones. In the world today, about three-fourths of the U.S. population have phones. A cell phone is an important thing to some people. Without cell phones, kids wouldn't have access to their social media accounts like Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more. So take this into consideration, even if it is in one class, students should be allowed to get on their cell phones during school hours.
Overall, cellphones should be allowed in school for academic use because teenagers use them daily. It would work to the advantage of both the students and the teachers to incorporate cell phones with school work. Education will only continue to evolve as the years go on, and it is essential that technology is incorporated along with
In each school there are absurd rules; ours by far has the most. Ok I get it, the staff is trying to us learn with a cleaner environment, but they have to be able to understand that phones CAN help you learn! Phones give us opportunities to hold many useful things such as calculators, passwords, and our schedules. I can see that they would want to take it away because it is “distracting”, but I honestly think that it is more distracting not having it then actually having it, now all we can think about is checking our phones. Although much of the public debate is against it, there are pros associated with allowing cell phones in school. These advantages should not be ignored since cellphones in schools can actually add value to the
First and foreMost, distractions in class are the main reason phones shouldn't be allowed during class. In other words phones are used for more than just education when used in class. For example, if i'm told to get my phone out to look something up, i'm probably
The subject of phones being in school is extremely controversial. Alexis Denisof stated, "I think most people in the developed world would admit to carrying some sort of handheld device, whether it's a laptop or a cell phone, at all times." It's true, phones have changed society severely. We use them everyday, it has replaced old gadgets that were cluttering. It's a change that has been embraced in most social settings.
Cell phones should be allowed during class. This has many reasons why. Let’s take a look at what those are. First, it does have GPS tracking in the phone or on an app. It can help the parents if they don’t know where the student is. Or, if the child gets lost, it can help the child by just looking at google maps on where he is. Next, it has voice notes, It makes it much faster to study and all the notes will be correct. For voice notes all you have to do is get an app that tracks what your teacher is saying. This will help you study. Lastly, It can store emergency contact if the child gets lost. It can help in emergencies too. If there is a lock down and the student has their phone all they have to do is text the police to let them what is
Phones should be allowed because at school they could be used for many things, for example they can be used for a calculator or some type of tool and say if you are ready to get on the bus but your mom has a meeting at her work and you have to stay with her and according to source #2 some teenage girl was walking around with no idea where she was going and ran into a wall and broke her nose I can see where they were thinking and I also agree why people shouldn't have phones in the middle of their education time but I think they should be allowed outside like
Students should be allowed to use their phones at school because it could be used for math, they can use it to contact their parents when something bad happens, also can be useful for emergency purposes. However when I researched “Should students be allowed to bring their phones to school”? They think that students should get to have their phones during school hours. Because they feel like the students could have communication with their classmates/ friends. Some schools don’t allow them because they are a distraction when teachers are trying to teach. When students use their phones during school hours the teachers take them away and keep them until the end of the day or they keep them until their parents come to the school to get their kids
I think cell phones should definitely be aloud at school because they are very useful. If you forgot something important at home you can easily call your parents to see if they can bring it. It can be used as a learning tool. If anybody plays game you should have a punishment like maybe saying you can’t bring your phone to school for a certain amount of time. Maybe the teacher or principal could tell your parents and they will take your phone away for awhile since they weren't doing what they were supposed to be doing.I think that phones can be a great learning tool and very helpful when it comes to situations. A situation that I think would be helpful in is maybe your parents thought you got out of school at 3:01 but you really got out at
Phones can be a distraction in class for social media reasons but phones can also help with any school references. Phones should be allowed in schools / classes
I think that the teachers should let phones be prohibited in the classrooms because the teachers never know what maybe into why we need our phones in the classroom and i feel like the teachers need to let us have our phones in the classroom so we can get in touch with whom every we need to get in touch with and the phone policy should always be prohibited in our classrooms.
Do you carry a phone around at school everyday? I think that kids these days should be able to carry their phones around for emergency purposes, cell phones can also help some kids concentrate better, and teacher can let kids use cell phones for learning purposes.
Students should be allowed to have phones in class because students aren’t the only ones who use them in class, the teachers use it as well. It is stated on weareteachers.com , “ It’s not just the tweens
