Adults aren’t the only ones suffering from back pain in Frisco, TX. It’s back-to-school season and your child’s backpack is a likely culprit for acute and chronic back pain, in addition to related injuries. Kids who carry a backpack to school are more likely to complain of pain in their backs, necks and shoulders. This is due to too-heavy backpacks that are often worn and lifted incorrectly. When a backpack is too heavy for a child to support, they will be forced to bend forward, causing pain and potential injury. Life Changing Chiropractic can help you identify common backpack problems and pick an item that will keep your child healthy and comfortable. When shopping for a backpack this season, look for wide and padded shoulder straps. The backpack should have a padded waist strap and multiple compartments to prevent uneven shifting of objects. Make sure your child or teen knows to carry it with both straps on both shoulders to avoid uneven weight distribution. A backpack shouldn’t hang too low or be sized larger than the child’s torso. Acupuncture is one of the most researched and documented alternative medicines around (Acupuncture). Although a vast majority of people believe Western medicine is the only cure to sickness, many people benefit from acupuncture everyday. Most people disregard the ancient art all together without giving it a chance because are scared of the needles it involves. Also, since no accurate scientific explanation of how and why it works has been found, people shy away from it. The healing powers of the body are taken to a whole different level with this alternative medicine.
The mission of chiropractors is to enhance the lives of this and future generations through the power of the chiropractic adjustment and wellness lifestyle. Many athletes go to the chiropractor to get their health to full potential again. I am incredibly lucky to have been fortunate enough to say that I worked hands on with a Physical Therapist over this past summer. It was an experience I will never forget and one that I will treasure forever.
Throughout my high school career, I had a great variety of classes ranging from Civil Engineering and Architecture to Anatomy and Physiology. I was, and still am, interested in just about everything. At the University of North Dakota, I chose to pursue an Interdisciplinary Studies Degree with an emphasis in Health Science and a Minor in Biology. This allowed me to tailor my schedule to include courses I needed as well as courses I was interested in. As evident in my transcripts, I took a little bit of everything and I loved every moment of it. Although I wasn’t yet focusing on a certain career path, I was certain that I wanted to ultimately pursue a career in the medical field. Specifically, I have recently found that chiropractic will allow me to enrich the lives of others while exhibiting lifelong learning

The correction to the janitor encouraged Palmer to open a school of chiropractic two years later. “Chiropractic” actually is derived

Out of college, he then worked for the Baltimore Ravens, where he learned about the importance of the balance between physical therapy, orthopedics, and chiropractic medicine. Two of the most common symptoms chiropractors treat are neck and back pain. What is surprising is the patients complaining of these painful symptoms seem to be getting younger due to the wearing of backpacks. When heading out to school it is customary to stuff the backpack full of notebooks, heavy textbooks, food, clothes and other supplies weighing it down. According to the American Chiropractor Association (ACA), “In a new and disturbing trend, young children are suffering from back pain much earlier than previous generations, and the use of overweight backpacks is a contributing factor.”
On September 8th, 2015, I first began interning for Dr. Dawn Cox and her staff of experienced Physical Therapists at PRANA Functional Manual Therapy in Lancaster, PA as a Physical Therapy Aide. Intermittently, on the first day of my internship, I would ask the therapists “Why choose Physical Therapy as a profession?” One of the Physical Therapists conveyed that aside from the substantial benefits a job provides, it was the intangible materials that gave the profession a meaning. As a student exploring the field of Physical Therapy, I have infallibly witnessed professionalism at PRANA and other Physical Therapy facilities through the therapists’ altruism towards patients -without violating ethical practices as professionals; their apposite use of communication with each individual at the workplace; and their sense of accountability when things go unforeseen.
Pain relief is the most common reason, and it may not only be back pain. Headaches and migraines may occur because of pressure on nerves. When a chiropractor performs adjustments to remove this pressure, your body functions better. As a result, your headache may dissipate or completely disappear. If you have chronic headaches, chiropractic care is a good place to start treatment.
Massage therapy has been used for thousands of years as a form of medical care, the earliest time of use dates back to 2,700 BC from a Chinese book called “The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine”. The Chinese used this form of treatment for a person with full paralysis or an illness from fever and chills. History shows that Greek and Roman doctors also used massage therapy, as Julius Caesar had a disease called neuralgia and used massages on a daily basis to treat his condition. Hippocrates who was known as the Father of Western Medicine felt that massage therapy was effective, as it could loosen or bind a problematic joint. Massage therapy is also found in the history of Indian Medicine as the Indians used and still use
