The reason that it’s not out there is that it’s inside us.” The reason I believe she said this is because so many people are out there looking for happiness in a place they won’t find it because little do they know, happiness lies within in them. This means that your own level of happiness depends solely on who you are. But what is happiness? According to Lyubomirsky, happiness is, “the experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that one’s life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile.” One may wonder though, just how is happiness determined? Happiness is one of the most basic things that people strive for in life. Everyone wants to be happy. There are hormones and compound in your body that make you feel happiness. There are also things in some people's life that make people happy that might make someone else sad. No one wants to be sad. There have also been studies done to see the causes of happiness.

Although there are a number of different nuances and qualifications for this particular term, happiness actually can be defined. In fact, it usually helps to best define happiness in terms of what it is and what it is not. Happiness is certainly a state of fluctuation there is no consistent, prolonged state of felicity. If so, it then becomes normal, the normal becomes boring, and the result a sort of benign content becomes a bland, meaningless state devoid of any significant stimulus. Instead, what is needed for happiness is the vicissitudes of life. Were there no unhappiness, there could not be happiness. Happiness, therefore, is a function of rebounding from and considering the unhappiness that is a potential for virtually almost everyone, although the unhappiness for a particular individual is most relevant to him or her. With that in mind one of the most essential qualities regarding happiness is the fact that it is extremely relative, much like motion, and is best defined as the feeling of satisfaction (ideally punctuated by elation) one gets after achievement or averting the negative vicissitudes on might have encountered.

Knowing they're happy for whatever reason is where i find my happiness. The feeling of happiness starts off with just a simple look at something or even someone you love. Having the feeling of happiness in your heart that slowly creeps up until you're smiling for what seems like ages. True happiness doesn't last for seconds or even minutes, it feels as though it lasts a life time.

In a textbook dictionary, happiness can be defined as “the state of well-being and contentment” (Merriam-Webster) , but the plan is for us to find out what happiness means from a psychological standpoint. A psychological definition of happiness is “a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.” (Wikipedia). Common people's happiness may consist of having a good paying job, a happy family, good friends, the list could go on and on about people's different way of defining happiness. Happiness, what is happiness? Is it a person? A thing? Or does it something much greater than that. In the dictionary happiness is the state of being happy. Every person has a different idea on what happiness is. It doesn’t have to be just one simple thing, it could be an abundant of things together that creates happiness. Being happy and having happiness are one in the same but then again are different. Being happy is just being pleased at one thing at one time, being happy is an emotion, but having happiness is much more, it's a lifestyle.

Everyone defines happiness differently, everyone enjoys different things but, we know happiness when we experience it. The phrase is used to describe a variety of positive feelings, including fulfillment, gratification, joy and appreciation. Happiness comes when we are pleased and contented. Happiness is a feeling of contentment that life is just as it should be. The right happiness, enlightenment, comes when you have all of your needs satisfied, because when we let ourselves be happy, it becomes easier said than done.

To enjoy the good aspects of people, enjoy living, family and friends. Don't get hung up on the bad things in life. You must get through the downfalls in life because if you don't they will just bring you down with

What is happiness? The answers are endless, some people finding something more relatable than others. In the United States, we are given the freedom of speech, and everyone has his or her own opinion. Based on opinion it makes the world a different place. We are not all the same which is better. Happiness is something that can be taken it different ways, like the way it looks and feels but scientist and personal experiences show how it really is. Personally what makes me the happiest is on sports. Playing gives me a sense of something that nothing else can. But my roommate for example her happiness is reading.

So happiness is officially defined as feeling or showing pleasure or contentment. Sounds pretty straight forward I thought, but then I started to look at the big picture. In a day there are twenty four hours and I spend about 7 at school, two after school in the musical, 2 doing homework, 5 doing random but necessary things like driving or making food,6 sleeping and the last 2 I would bet I waste by daydreaming. But how happy am I? While I enjoy school and musical most of the time I wanted to see if I was really happy. To test this I would stop myself every hour and evaluate my emotions. I would quickly write down my emotions from most prominent to least (I used the well known movie Inside Out to help me a little.) Most of the time my list looked as follows:
