He sat at his desk, playing World of Warcraft, watching YouTube video's. Seven years of the same thing every day went by. One day he was talking to his longtime friend, Nolan through instant messenger, these two have know each other for 10+ years. Danny noticed Nolan posting a lot of longboarding videos. One day he asks Nolan, “Hey man, how fun is longboarding?” Nolan replied, “it's not very hard once you learn.” from there Danny started looking online for longboards. He asked, “which type of complete would be best to go with first?” “Ehlers Longboards” Nolan said as he sent the website link to Danny. Danny started searching and learning everything he could about longboards, watching videos, whatever he could do to learn about the sport, he
Then we are down to the last two tasks of the day. He would have to go turn in/pick up applications for jobs. This was a very tedious task seeing as most of these job were on the outskirts of the city, so many miles of peddling his bike. He would sometimes ride all the way across town just to submit his barren resume. Only to later be rejected. Finally he would get his dinner
Skateboarding has rich history of innovation and is full of intriguing stories. Many of these stories are documented in this book in great detail. However, this essay will provide you with an overview of the last nine decades.

Throughout time, the progression and evolution of snowboarding has increased greatly. It has gone from non existence in the late 1970’s, to one of the most watched action sports in a matter of thirty-five years. The upward takeoff and popularity of snowboarding relies on two people, Jake Burton and Shaun White. Jake Burton back in 1977 had the vision for what snowboarding would be, but Shaun White had what it took to manifest that vision. Evidence has shown that time brings change in sports, history has repeated itself with snowboarding, this history reflects the time & changes that has occurred in America.
Shaun was born with a congenital heart defect. Before the age of 5, he had two open heart cardiac surgeries. Shaun first learned how to skateboard before he learned how to snowboard. He learned how to skateboard before he learned how to snowboard. He learned how to skateboard when he went to the local YMCA that was closest to his house. His big brother Jesse was going to learn Skateboarding there so Shaun decided to follow him to the YMCA and join the class too and learn. He finally learned how to snowboard when he was 6 years old. His mother thought he was going tho fast and she was scared something bad might happen to him. He had already suffered through his years of being a baby and she was scared something might happen to her youngest son again. Cathy was scared there might be a second chance of losing Shaun. Shaun's mom told him to find something else to do, something that wasn't dangerous. She wanted him to find something to do as his career in life, but his career turned out to be snowboarding.
DUDE I finally did it I’m a senior. After a good technical 13 years I’m gonna graduate yes 13, because I got held back once but things happen. Me being who I am now I don’t know what I’d fall under Hipster, or Emo, but I’d say I’m alive and that’s that. I can happily say that penny boarding has definitely killed my stress at times. It took me until this year to realize what I wanted to do in life and that is to make taking pictures more than just a hobby but make it an art. I also want to make videos and be able to upload them to youtube knowing that people would like them.
football games. He would describe how he felt that he didn't belong and felt like a loser. Although he gave
I got all my rental gear for example, my board, helmet, and my boots. The club had it own room where members could leave your belongings and get a lift ticket. Once I got all my gear on and put my ticket on, I was ready to hit the slopes. The first step to learning how to snowboard are the basics skills for example, standing up, back heal stop, toe stop, and shredding. Learning these skills only took 2 days, but the other guys were struggling for a couple more days. When everyone has the basics down, we must keep riding the hills to get better. We rode on two hills called the EZ rider and the terrain. The EZ riders is more for beginners, it’s not as steep as other hills, wider trails, and easier chair lifts to get off. The terrain is a little harder it has jumps, rails, and other obstacles, steeper than most hills, and faster chair lifts. Riding the same hills repetitively slowly became tiresome. With even switching from hill to hill it felt like I was making the same movements, swaying my board side to side. The others guys happen to catch on to the technique faster than I was able to, but that never stopped me. Them getting better only pushed me harder because I wanted to be better than them and eventually I will be.
Her parents were passionate about surfing and they passed along their love of the beach to Bethany and her brothers, Noah and Timmy. When Bethany was eight, she joined the competitive surfing circuit. Her whole family became involved in her training. Her dad taught her techniques and surfing tips while her mom, Cheri, homeschooled her. Cheri was a strict teacher and made sure that Bethany never fell behind on her work while her brothers toughened her up for all her competitions. Bethany’s family taught her that it was okay to lose sometimes because there would always be a next time when she could win. Bethany’s attachment to surfing was in her blood as she said “Surfing is a force that moves your body and soul.” (Hamilton, 122). She practiced for hours everyday and loved everything about her surfing world especially her friends. As she began winning competitions, Bethany’s brother Noah started sending pictures of her surfing to various companies that manufactured clothing. Soon after that, the company Rip Curl sponsored Bethany and gave her free clothes and equipment to use while she surfed. Bethany was a rising star in the field of competitive
Bethany Hamilton is a brave surfer who survived a shark attack and faced her fears to continue doing what she loves. She was born in Kauai in 1990 and started surfing when she was 4 years old. At the age of 8, she got a gold medal in her first competition and since then she would have the first place in every championship she took part of. She was so talented that she could do amazing tricks that surfers her age couldn’t. Therefore, she had Rip Curl as a sponsor. However, in 2003 she was laying on her surfboard with her left arm underwater and a tiger shark bit it. Luckily, she was accompanied by her friends, so they helped her to get to the beach. Although she had a tremendous fear, Bethany didn’t hesitate in returning to the waves
Until one day he just stops. He gets lazy and doesn’t talk; all he does is stare blankly at the wall. When asked to do work he says “I’d prefer not to”. Then he starts becoming a hermit in the office, living there and never leaving.
He put a reputation on himself and turned everyone against him. From the moment Dan and Trever got into an argument at the bar Dan just knew that was the end of their friendship. Dan gets into an accident and still pushed through it. Dan took therapy for a few months and he became one of the star Olympics. “It does not matter what you do, it’s how well you do it.”
One month ago was the second time I had ever been snowboarding. The first time was nothing special. I merely taught myself how to repeatedly fall until your legs and hands are so cold you feel like one of your fingers could snap off at any moment. I would prefer not to recall that memory. The latter was the more enjoyable of the two and during this time I really began to understand the principles of this painfully limb-numbing sport. Each time I fell it was as if a teacher from the not-so-glorious years of the twentieth century had slapped a ruler against the top of my hand. It hurt a lot but after my proverbial hand had an imprint of inches one and two, I was finally able to piece together where I had went wrong in my inept technique. I corrected
The longboard failed me. It was that time of the year when me and my sister Ava would always play outside with my friend Jordyn. It was around 5 o'clock when my uncle drooped us off from the zoo. After he left, my mom was sound asleep. She was always sleeping whenever we got home because she worked graveyard. So me and my sister Ava decided to go play outside with our friend.
