Another large contributing factor to weight gain is the lack of a consistent schedule, and strange
Many people get frustrated because they think they are fat even if they are not. Most of the time, frustrations are due to societal pressures making them have those kinds of thoughts such as a magazine title: “The Most Perfect Body.” With that title everyone wants to have the body represented in the magazine. Because of that, people start diets to accomplish the perfect body represented in the magazine, which most of the time is not real, so they never reach that goal. In some cases dieting causes people to have severe illnesses like Anorexia and Bulimia. On the other hand, people have very low morale and they are never happy with their body. They always want to look better than what they are even if they do not look bad initially. This kind of thought makes people diet and they usually choose unhealthy diets to accomplish the desired
Another factor that leads to weight gain and obesity is lack of exercise and energy balance. Contrary to popular belief, calories alone are not what always cause weight gain but rather the lack of exercise. Keeping an active and healthy lifestyle is essential in maintaining a healthy weight. There are also other things that lead to a healthy lifestyle like lower risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and cancers. In order to ensure that a person is maintaining a healthy energy balance, there must an equal amount of calories in and out of the body. In other words, whatever amount of calories that are consumed that day, there must be an equal amount of exercise to burn off those calories. Simple activities like going for a walk, run, bike, swim or a group exercise class can greatly reduce the risk of obesity. A lot of people in America spend their free time on the couch or watching a movie or sleeping. This is also causing obesity in children because kids are playing video games and watching TV in their free time instead of getting the proper exercise. Changing this unhealthy habit to exercising during free time can greatly reduce the risk of obesity. Some people might argue that they do not have time to exercise during the day. In order to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight, exercise needs to be a priority. If something becomes a top priority, it usually gets done. Instead of waking up and
Without telling a lie, since I was 20 years old, I have been dieting. In my childhood, I was a little bit overweight because I consumed a lot of food. Everybody always informed my mom about my weight, but she did not pay attention because she thought that it was normal, and she always answered: "Oh she is a child she cannot be on a diet." In my adolescence when I first started menstruating, I lost a lot of pounds. When I was in high school, I was pretty stable in my weight, but in college, that is where the real problem started. I had no control of my eating habits, and I ate regularly. In the morning, I used to take a full breakfast, and within two hours I have consumed a snack. As a result, I gained a bunch of extra pounds. One day I was checking my weight, and I was surprised to find that I weighed 153 pounds, but these did not motivate me to start exercising or eating healthy meals. We had our summer vacation, and when I came back to school, one of my classmates asked, “What I was doing during this time because I was looking like a pig.” I was shocked, because I could not imagine how fat I was. Since that time I started eating balanced diet food and exercising. My aim of making this drastic change was not to have the ideal measurements that everyone dreams of, but to control my diabetes disease and improve health. After exercising on a daily basis, I lost 28 pounds.

On top of this stress, it’s not a secret that losing said weight is a long and strenuous task for most people. Most people simply don’t have the time and energy to spend hours at the gym several times a week, so they fail to shed those pounds.

Unfortunately, for most people gaining weight is much easier than losing weight. It is not uncommon for a person to start developing poor eating habits, and then they let their weight gain go too far and get out of control.
Staying healthy and eating right is a lifestyle that many people should consider. A juicy hamburger from McDonalds dripping with special sauce topped with cheese is not exactly considered a healthy meal. Our society today is busy and on the go at all times. It is so much easier to stop and get fast food and then continue on. However, we should stop and think; is it really worth it to not eat right and exercise?
