Coontz covered marriage from many times periods and many countries, such as Greece, France, and Chinese. She also touched on the idea of love and marrying because of it. Her main idea was, “But only rarely in history has love been seen as the main reason for getting married” (4).

The love story is one of the oldest and most cherished traditions in any world culture. The prevalence of romantic works throughout history, whether Greek myths, Jane Austen’s dramatic narratives, or today’s dime-a-dozen romantic novels, ultimately encourages us to believe in the power of true love. Each section explains how different people experience or act out love. Each section ends with the author explainig the main issue with this model or metaphor. The essay concludes with two paragraphs that essentially states that choosing a single metaphor can be dangerious and that one type of love is not more important than another, thus there being no one ‘true’ love.

Love is defined in numerous ways. It is one of the first and foremost feelings that each being experiences throughout their lifetime. The simple word goes a long way, as it triggers differing images to people. For instance, there is the romantic love that many aspire to have. Additionally, there is also familial and neighborly love. However, as great as love is, the authenticity of it is what discombobulates many. Love may be the feeling that is life sustaining, but at the same time, it can also be life threatening. Humans are vulnerable to fall into an untruthful love due to the fact that we fantasize over the thought of being in love. Through William Shakespeare’s tragic play, “Romeo and Juliet,” a fabricated false love is manifested. Thus, the star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, loved impetuously rather than genuinely, as they did not comprehend the perception of true love.

If there is one subject that seems to draw a lot of attention and interest is that of love. According to the definition of the word, “love is an intense feeling of deep affection” and undeniably this deep affection seems to be a universally understood language. Love plays a huge and unavoidable role in all cultures and as such we find it discussed, either humorously or seriously, in song, film, and literature.

There were some for mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, just about anyone I could think of. The content in these cards showed me that true love isn’t written in just one form, but in many messages put together.

Love has many different meanings to different people. For a child, love is what he or she feels for his mommy and daddy. To teenage boy, love is what he should feel for his girlfriend of the moment, only because she says she loves him. But as we get older and "wiser," love becomes more and more confusing. Love is a powerful emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently. Love is a powerful feeling; it makes you do crazy thing. Many people spend years trying to find it, others give up thinking they’ll never find it. Love has been defined as an intensive feeling of a deep romantic or sexual attachment to someone. Of course, Love doesn 't have to romantic and/or sexual. People who are ace, as in asexual, aromantic and agender, can still be in relationships that are satisfying for them without the needs of a romantic relationship. Familial love is also non-romantic-sexual. However, in this paper, we will be talking about romantic-sexual love, what it is, and why I believe it’s so important to understand and experience.

Love is an abundant emotion that has different degrees. There is familial love, friendly love, unconditional love, and of course romantic love. Romantic love will be the superstar of this article. Romantic love may be around every corner whether between an old couple or a young teenage romance. However, love is not the easiest thing to attain. It is such a simple concept, though a difficult thing to actually have a person’s hands on.
