According to true colors I am a green. The twenty words that best describes me are analytical, calm, cool, investigative, strength, creative, strategic thinker, knowledgeable, visionary, enthusiastic, independent thinker, future focus, objective, tough minded, meaningless dialogue, emotional displays, subjective thinking, social function, challenging and flexible.

I write to express my interest in the tenure-track appointment in guitar at the assistant or associate professor level beginning fall 2018 at the Arizona State University School of Music. While I have taught at a number of institutions, my position at Georgia State University (GSU) has offered the greatest opportunities for professional growth. Consequently, my discussion of professional activities will focus primarily on the work I have done in connection with GSU starting in 2012. In this time I have revitalized a failing guitar program, reinstated its MM performance degree, and created a guitar chair position within the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) while holding two to three part-time positions and maintaining an active

Since the time when I was little, my parents always encourage me to do the best, work hard, become educated and have a positive life style at a very young age. My earliest memories are that of reading interesting books because I love to read and do my science whiz experiments. However, I also had great interests in playing with Lego pieces and conducting fun chemistry games in my own tiny lab. It was a fun time for me; at least that’s how I recall it now. The only things I had to worry about were: what will I have for lunch today, which chemistry game or Lego pieces do I want to play with and my team winning the sports games I use to compete in.

I’ve always been interested in the field of medicine. When I was being born, I almost died, being saved only by the ingenuity of a Nurse Day for whom my middle name is dedicated to. Above all else, I want to have an impact on the quality of life for others, and I think the University of Pennsylvania is one of, if not the, best ways to do that. Its bioengineering department is consistently ranked to be the most rigorous in the field, and I can handle rigor.

Babson excites me due to its highly accredited reputation within the business world. Many well respected professionals in this field are Babson alumni and in the future I can envision myself as a part of this esteemed group. I can see myself succeeding at Babson due to my work ethic. Throughout high school I pushed myself academically and with extra-curricular activities. These activities include playing sports, clubs and working at my local mountain. All of these activities have helped me understand organization, time management, how to work with a team and other useful skills that can easily crossover into a workplace environment. Working retail at my local ski mountain really helped open my eyes to the world of business, even though it was only at the consumer level. I could actively see economic principles effecting customers buying habits and how goods were stocked. As I further my economic intelligence more of these principles become apparent to me. As a

For as long as I can remember, I have loved numbers. Ever since elementary school, I remember explaining and tutoring my classmates in subjects related to math. Math was such a passion for me that in high school my professors entrusted me to provide supplemental tutoring to my classmates. Moreover, while in high school, I participated in math competitions and worked on research projects related to business. I always wanted to pursue a college education abroad because I believed I would be fully equipped to help others and to become a better professional. Therefore, when I graduated from high school I applied to a program to come to the USA. There is still a lot that the future holds and the Investment Management Fund program would provide me the opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing a real investment portfolio.

My mom signed me up for the community library when I just turned 6 years old. Even if I did not know how to properly read at the time, I had to go there every afternoon to keep myself busy as an only child. Being opened to books at such an early clearly has had a major impact on my life and personality. From the local tales of my beloved Senegalese society to the deep and sophisticated French literature, I have traveled through cultures and generations. Whether it is Emile Zola’s collection of novels or Albert Camus’s philosophical texts, these books raised me and taught me about life, love, and resilience. As times went by, reading was no more a regular pastime but a detrimental part of my existence. The lessons and morality I gained from each story always pushed me to challenge the status quo, to be curious, to be adventurous but most importantly to be a problem solver.

‘Slow and steady wins the race’, they say. Nothing best describes my passage through life as does this adage: mine has been flanked by academic challenges and high family standards. Yet, I have not only always pulled through but have done so most gallantly, even finishing best at some levels.

Maya Angelou once said “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style”. I believe that some people are complacent with mediocrity and therefore do not try to excel to their highest potential. As for me, furthering my future by attending college will help rise above the horizon of being average. I want to put my willing, intellectual, open mindedness, and so much more to good use.

Our lives are a series of deliberate day-to-day decisions that develop into milestones which ultimately define who we are as individuals. One such defining point in my life is to pursue further education by obtaining a Master of Business Administration. The additional knowledge and skills that I will obtain will benefit me as I grow further in my career. My professional experience coupled with the Eller MBA will expand my knowledge as I work toward my short-term and long-term goals. The program will provide increased resources while utilizing my experience to enhance my leadership skills, work toward my life goals, expand my knowledge of business and bring personal experience and insight in accounting and finance to the program.

During my childhood raised by my mother with an only a ninth grade education, father passed when I was nine, I vowed to become an example for my younger siblings. Joined the military in 1987 while serving my country I earned promotions, awards, recognition, etc. but there was still one thing missing which was education. How could I be an example to my children and family if I was missing the very thing that I wanted to make sure they had accomplished? After retirement from the military I got into the private sector with a successful profession where I currently am, still I felt like something was not complete.

If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I will have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there. I feel the Suffolk University can lay the groundwork for making these dreams into reality.

As we review your application, what more would you like us to know as we consider your candidacy for the Harvard Business School MBA program?

In this learning and creating system i am composing an plan of the next year during my Master of Business Management program. Most importantly i will expound on myself and after that future viewpoint about my profession. Those i need to exhibit that why this MBA program i chose for making vocation in the comparable bearing. Many opportunities are associated with a culturally diverse workplace and global expansion may have potential to provide just such a diverse work group. Cross-culturalism in business can provide leaders and employees with a wonderful opportunity to work with people from different backgrounds and cultures. In addition, “the more opportunities for business leaders to interact with people from different cultures, the more likely they will be to have positive attitudes from different cultures and identify, learn and apply diverse culturally-appropriate business behaviors” (Caligiuri & Tarique, 2012, p. 614). Culturally diverse environments offer a multitude of benefits including “the variety of perspectives, skills and personal attributes” (Matveeve & Nelson, 2004, p. 254). Moreover, multicultural teams have potential to “generate more ideas of higher quality in brainstorming tasks” (Matveeve &
