Old School, Literally Ring! The loud bell sounded and the children came and went running past Maggie. She told her mom she would go straight to the office when the bell rang, whatever that meant. Now it made sense. Well, there it is, she thought as she glanced at the huge big block letters. She opened the door and heard a sweet voice say, “Scotts Valley Middle School, Valerie speaking, how may I help you?” She was opening her mouth to answer, when again, she heard, “Okay, I am so sorry, what time or day will he make it back to school? Hmmm, okay! Have a nice day!” Maggie looked up to see a nice looking older lady with dark brown hair and sparkling eyes. She was just hanging up the phone. Oh. Now I get it. She was on the phone. The door hinge and bulletin were looking like they could fall off any second. Wow! This place is really old. Just like her house, she thought with a sigh. Maggie was short, so she was used to having to look up at people. “Hello! My name is Ellie. I will be guiding you today around this trashy, old school,” she joked. Well, she seems nice, Maggie thought. “Thanks, I'm new to the school, I actually came from Montana,” Maggie managed to get out. “Where should we start?” she asked, looking at the map. “Wow! Montana! That sounds interesting. Well, this room is the office, and as you can see rooms 1 through 10 are here.” she pointed. “You will find rooms 11 through 22 right in front of that huge building, the Pavilion, and rooms, 23, 24, and 25 are behind the Pavilion.” Ellie explained. Then she rattled off so much stuff, Maggie thought her head would explode! “Yeah!
