There’s growing interest in both general and business sectors for building sustainable organizations. More and more big companies are investing big money on retaining employees, providing gorgeous working environment and creating unique company culture. “Placing sustainability as central to business strategy and top management support can be viewed as fundamental drivers to an enduring, successful path to sustainable management” (HR’s Role in Building a Sustainable Enterprise: Insights From Some of the World’s Best Companies, 2007). We’ll talk about the HR’s role in building a sustainable enterprise and give two examples of how the IT giant Google and the ubiquitous retailer Walmart do their job to keep their people and what does that mean to their whole business and future development.
