Task 1: Explain the importance of the role of marketing in an organisation.
Marketing is one of the most very important roles of an organisation. It is used to get the business, product or its service out into the market and to be recognised for potential customers to see. Marketing is the management process for identifying anticipating, satisfying and anticipating customer requirements profitably (CIM definition). For a service or product to be successful, in some way be some sort of value to the customer. For example a new washing machine that uses less water and less electric, which would be a great value to the customers. It includes advertising, selling and delivering products to customers. People that work in marketing departments of businesses try to get the attention of target audiences by using packaging design, slogans, celebrity endorsements, general media exposure and celebrity endorsements. The four 'Ps ' of marketing are product, price, place and promotion. Many people believe that marketing is just about advertising or sales. However marketing is everything a company does to gain customers and keeping a relationship with them.
