Matched, a scientific fiction novel that takes you in the perspective of a 17-year-old girl. Cassia just turned 17 and she is being matched with someone she will spend the rest of her life with. She goes to the matching banquet and sees her best friend, Xander's face appear. When she reviews her micro card, she is surprised she sees someone's face, Ky. Cassia depends on the Society, in which they make decisions for her.
The protagonist is a 16 year old girl named Rachel. I think Rachel is one of those shy girls that don't like to talk to anybody like her crush Steve Millar and his mean sister Brianna. And thus all happens when Rachel sees Steve and the drama comes in.

Ally Condie’s book, “Matched”, takes place in an unreal world, where society chooses a person’s true love and plans their life. The story begins in the mind of Alison Pope, a 14-year-old girl. She is waiting on
The story began pleasant and straightforward. With Lara Jean, as the main character, being a hopeless romantic who write letters to her crushes but never sends them—rather, she places them in her special hatbox. However, things got out of hand when the letters were mailed out of nowhere without Lara knowledge. What’s worse is that one out of the five letters were about her older sister, Margot’s, ex-boyfriend, Josh.

We all have read many different books and stories and have found many similarities between ourselves and different characters. One of the novels I have read during this summer is called,“Across Five Aprils”. In this novel, there was one character that I felt as if she was most like me. Her name is Jenny Creighton, the daughter of the Creighton family, whose only fourteen years old, in loved with a schoolmaster named Shadrach Yale. This girl and I have lots of characteristics in common, such as own point of views, tend to take care the family, and love without thinking.
Many families have different rules set for their children, but they all have the same values. What is “normal” for most, if not all families is the want for their children to get an education and find a fitting career. Geek Love, written by Katherine Dunn, is a novel about the Binewski family, a family that is not exactly normal: each of the children were “created” differently when their mother took different drugs throughout her pregnancies. Arturo has flippers instead of legs and is known as Aquaboy, Iphy and Elly are Siamese twins, Oly is an albino hunchback, and Chick is telekinetic. Together they travel to show off their unusual human oddities with performances. Throughout the novel, Dunn shows that the Binewski’s value their performances over academics and that the sibling rivalries made them willing to do anything, even hurt one another, in order to be the best.
In the book, Matched, written by Ally Condie, the author discusses how the dystopian society’s officials depicted who the citizens get to love, where they work, and when they die. Unexpectedly and very rare was it that she got matched with her best friend, Xander who was in the same province. However, when given a micro card about Xander, she sees another face. The face she sees is one of her childhood friends, Ky who cannot be matched due to his status. Once seeing Ky’s face Cassia becomes confused and starts slowing falling in love with Ky, rather than with Xander. Throughout the story Cassia’s feelings towards two of her childhood friends change drastically.
