Exposure has the power to unconsciously redirect ones terminal direction futuristically. I am living corroboration of the theory that true subjection towards a specific career field can cause one to gravitate in that direction of interest. Speaking through personal experience of substantial impairment and illness motivating my career choice, I can validate that exposure and acquired knowledge certainly evokes a powerful attraction towards the source of exposure. My life has included memorable physical ailments in which fostered countless days in medical environments and interaction with multiple specialized physicians. I have had a multitude of difficulties regrading my appendix and its constant inflammation resulting in detrimental visits …show more content…
My own personal impairments motivated my career choice and influenced my sense of aid. Taking into consideration my abundance of newfound knowledge, I would allow diversity on campus with my amounts of unusual first hand experience and interaction in which the common applicant would not relay. My medical background not only allowed exposure but desensitization, this is a critical necessity with being professionally involved anywhere in the medical field. I would say that I have acquired a multitude of reoccurring exposures therefore deeming my desensitization in the areas in which one would never expect to see a beginning student. This a factor that enables for me to truly dig deeper into the study of nursing, other than getting distracted by external calamities. I hope to be a source of aid for fellow students regarding my sufficient knowledge on the study and how the field works first hand in correction. Diversity can be seen as external or internal, in my case I would not hesitate to admit that I may look as if a common applicant, yet can provide a sense of council for other students based on my early
For my last class I went to a Montessori school for my practicum field experience, and as you mentioned with the homeschooling, they also use the method that allows the students to learn at their own pace, the students are not rushed into going to the next level just because they have spent too much time in one level. I had never heard of this concept until I went there, when I went to the interview and met the principal she told me "This is a non-traditional school, are you ok with it"? that's when I asked and she began to explain and of course I also looked it up online and learned more, but whatever I knew prior to being in the classroom could not prepare me for what I saw in the classroom of about ten students and all of them working on
I am a medical graduate from Viet Nam. I came to the United States with the goal to becoming one of the best internists. I have improved my medical knowledge through my studies at Kaplan Medical Center. After that, I obtained experiences in different healthcare settings such as The University of Florida, Health Shands hospital and Emergency and Trauma Center at Hackensack University Medical Center. At this time, I am working as an extern at a clinic in New Jesery and attending some conversational English courses at Seton Hall University. I appreciate the patient-physician relationship and team-approach which are central practice in healthcare of the US. I am conscientious, focused and persevering in what I am doing. I am helpful and respectful
It is apparent from visiting with Dr. Nael P. Ghael on yesterday December 21, 2017, she was no more prepared or familiar with my medical history then she was on November 22, 2017. In November she said she would order my records from Care Now and wait on the results from the MRI. She did not know that I had physical therapy, she said to call you again about me being off work she could not do that. I told her when I did call you, you were so nasty to me and rude I did not get you to listen to why I was calling. I am going to ask you the same question I asked The Human Capital Staff if you are sending me to a doctor that does not have or will not allow one off work to heal, where will I get a doctor’s statement from. It appears I
I agree with you, for mentally or physically being patient and understanding will give them comfortable. As medical assistant it important to give the best care we can and treat them like we want to get treated. Yes, being kind to patients and being patient will make a lot easy when dialing with mentally
The article I chose fits with my clinical experience because it discusses the effectiveness of several interventions, including the implementation of ignition interlock devices and educational classes. I attended three classes at DUI School, so it was essential for me to find an article that examines an educational approach to help those who have been convicted of driving while intoxicated. Since some of the students who took classes at DUI School were required to install ignition interlock devices in their vehicles, having information about the effectiveness of ignition interlock devices was a plus. I felt confident that DUI School would prevent people from becoming repeat
My fascination of both the biological and chemical elements of the human body has led to my aspiration of becoming a doctor. I have enjoyed the discovery of new elements in my AS syllabus, from learning about the cardiovascular system to the placebo effect in drug testing. Reading a book called Sick Notes by Tony Copperfield entails an account of his daily life in his profession as a General Practitioner. I was able to see how the science in the syllabus was used in the application of General Practice. Through my work experience I understood that the GP’s job was not just based on being a general specialist but also the lives of the people around him.
The medical experience topic I would like to explore and discuss is the ulnar nerve, a large and important nerve, and the anatomical and physiological sequelae of damage to it. The topic is based on my own experience. In 2010, I suffered a severe laceration of my left arm near the wrist, which, fortunately, was able to be treated and partially relatively quickly. This is part of the reason that I was medically retired from the Army in 2012, for combat-related injuries. The ulnar artery of that arm and several interossial tendons were also severed. The artery was ligated (tied), and the nerve was repaired
“Sir” a nurse whispered to me, “you’re covered in blood, let me help you get cleaned up as you’re scaring some of the other patients.” Looking into the mirror, my 18-year-old self was shocked at what was reflected back. 30 minutes prior, while working on a construction site, my finger had an unfortunate meeting with a saw blade. After cutting my finger, the spinning blade had spattered my body, head to toe, in blood. I was terrified I would lose my finger, however, working in the ER that day, was a highly skilled family medicine practitioner who was able to repair my finger to its full functionality. Although this experience had an immediate impact on me, it would be years before I would realize just how much the physician’s knowledge,
The morning of September ninth observation started out with the First Annual Pancake Slam offered by Justin Youth Sports Association at the baseball fields at Justin Community Park. It consisted of all you can eat pancakes, home run derby for all age groups (4U-14U), and prizes to be given out for each age group. Along with baseball games at Justin home field scheduled from as early as 9:30am to 2:00pm, consisting of six and under T-Ball to 14 and under baseball. From the time I arrived at the ballpark at 8:00am to watch them set up, until the last game ended of 4:00pm I observed interaction between children, parents, and coaches.
I want to express my appreciation for your support in my education for almost 2 years now. I will keep you informed of any changes to my time as per school timetable concerning future clinical placements. Sometimes, I may need to come in the morning if my placement time is in the evening. I will get a medical note indicating the sick period.
to be at right now? Well, he’d canceled it at 1:45. What about that email that he had
Legislation regarding continuing medical education for health care professionals remains on the minds of many. Although this hasn't been a hot topic recently, as world events and political campaigns have taken precedence, those in the industry wish to know where past legislation stands and what the future may hold. When it comes to obtaining continuing medical education credits, however, one thing is certain. Doing so has never been easier, thanks to free CNE courses available online. When choosing courses, Individuals need to know what to look for to ensure the credits will meet the requirements for their state and/or organization. Following are some areas where legislation has been introduced concerning continuing medical education and how it may impact health care in the future.
I have personally been affected by the mess that America calls a health system. In the same year, I had severe food poisoning and my stomach and intestines swelled. I had to be hospitalized for a day each, and was then sent home, even though I was still very ill. The reason? My family has no health coverage. Both my parents are very hard workers and own their own business. One would think that my household could afford health coverage, but we can't, despite the many hours a week and hard labor. So, without coverage, there are heavy bills to pay. My mom and I have calculated that my parents will be paying hospital bills long after I graduate from college. Because of two days in the hospital, six bags of saline, and a bagel from the
As a student of nursing program I am doing 220 clinical placements at True Davidson long term care. On the first day of my clinical, I was so excited and quite nervous too. On that day, I picked one patient and it was my first experience to handle the client individually. I am going to write about that I eventually learn something from my first clinical experience. My buddy nurse told me to go to client’s room and ready her for breakfast. Then, I went her room and said her to be ready for breakfast. She looks at me and seems angry. At that time my mind was wandering that what I did mistake to her. It was the fifth week of my 220 placement, however, that event has left a permanent effect on my mind and it comes to my mind on every
Finding educational opportunities are valuable in the continually evolving health care industry (Makely, 2013). Shadowing a health care provider with years of experience is a great way to gain new knowledge, network with a different department, and acquire work ethic skills from senior health care providers.
