What are you waiting for. READ!!! Going snorkeling in Cancun Have you ever gone snorkeling. Well I have in Cancun,Mexico. I feel the chilly crystal blue water on my skin. As I looked at the ocean floor I saw big, bright blue and green fish swimming on the floor. Its lips were HUGE!!!! I was talking to my mom and I felt something slimy on my leg. A shiver went up my spine as I continued to talk to my mom. I feel it again and I looked under water, then I see a fish rubbing against my leg like a cat! I think it was an angel fish. It really creeped me out.I kept on licking my lips and tasting the fishy water. I saw people mid age people looking for sharks. I swear I saw a giant speckled fish swimming buried in the sand. I can 't even forget that timen where I went snorkeling in Cancun,Mexico. Riding a horse in Colorado Have you ever rode a horse? I have in Estes Park,Colorado. It was a humid July day and Icould feel the cool Colorado air as Abe[My horse] tromped against all the light brown over grown tree roots. As our trail guide rode her horse Bullsye up the mountain I could see Bullsyes very thin fur flow in the wind like swaying grass. I would stare up as the very, very green trees ricochetted of each other. I saw all the greenery swaying in the humid breeze. As I was
While reading I start to relive that night and opening my door to my boyfriend, hidden behind a giant teddy bear. That night we went out to my favorite restaurant, unfortunately, the waitress took almost an hour to come, but we were too enticed in each others company to mind. The second one is from my birthday; my friends and I ended up going to McDonald’s because our reservation to a high-end restaurant “disappeared”, ironically it became to be the best birthday I had. Both stories reminded me that some of my favorite memories are the imperfect moments in
The biggest memories that come to me are going to church in my hometown. Every Sunday was a special schedule. I got to wear my best clothes of the week, which was usually a dress, long socks, and a bow for my hair. Once my whole family was ready we would walk to church. On our way, my mom would often stop and talk to neighbors. Sometimes I would have to remind her that we were going to church or tell her that we were going to be late. Mass was an hour or so. After mass, my mom and dad would give me money to buy an ice cream or junk food. When I finished my ice cream, we would walk home with neighbors who lived on the same street. Walking home everybody would talk about how beautiful the ceremony was and how well the priest explained the Gospel. I loved the sense I was given by my neighbors. Comforting and belonging is what I felt when I was around them. McClay and McAllister refer to this as “anchor our memories in something more substantial than our thoughts and emotions,” which is my hometown connecting me back to my neighbors at my
The most vivid memory I recall is of the first trip I ever made to my happy place, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Nothing could ever compare to those 5 days of pure happiness, without a single worry in the world. I truly believe this one little trip shaped the way I want to live the rest of my life.
Over the years we have personally seen our share of magical and mystical creatures on dives, but most have been previously documented. We consider these rare sightings perks of the trade. While diving with friends off the coast of Baja, California, we had the unique pleasure of swimming with Whale Sharks. It would take a tow truck of epic proportions to haul this magnificent creature on land. Yet these 40 foot harmless
There is a trail down the road in Delaware where I enjoy taking my dog for a walk. It is a beautiful, five-mile loop traversing cornfields, thick patches of forest, steep hills and flowing streams; a wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle of the suburban lifestyle and spend some time amongst the peacefulness of nature. It is not a complete escape, however, for I am not the only person that knows of the trail- it seems to also be a favorite of horseback riders. Often times I will encounter a rider or two at some point during my walk and, without fail, I will be in awe of the size and majesty of the horse. What an incredible, gentle beast it is. Standing next to a horse, you cannot help but gawk at the bulging, toned muscles and long, agile legs. It is truly an athlete with a rare combination of strength and speed. Yet, they are gentle and kind and have therefore been joined at the hip with humans; today, nearly all horses have been domesticated. So I find myself
So, most people have great memories right? Mine are marching band memories. Marching band started with my sister. My mom and my sister inspired me to do sports in the first place. It was either marching band or volleyball. Which I believe marching band was for the best. I'm working up to the things that my sister accomplished. My music has helped me develop my life, my values, and my goals.
Memories can last a life time, so we tend to only remember the extraordinary ones. Extraordinary like the essay “The Yellow Ribbon” by Pete Hamill, in which he talks about how a person named Vingo, was riding on a, bus recently released from jail, to this oak tree explaining to some passengers that he had told his wife to leave him if she wanted, since he went to jail or to go to this oak tree and tie a yellow ribbon around it to see if she wants him to stick around and he will go and check it out. In the end, he saw hundreds of ribbons tied on to the tree. Not only is this an amazing story, but also very unforgettable one as well, because he finds out that after four years in jail his wife has enough love for him to go to this tree and tie hundreds of ribbons just to show the type of love the women had for Vingo. I have to say that, I believe this story is truly unforgettable, but I also got a story that is very extraordinary, like the time that I got my very first car. Furthermore, I didn’t just get a car, I got the love of two truly loving parents.
Another great memory I had was when I went to Myrtle Beach with my mom, grandma, and older brother Vincent. We stayed in a horrible motel it stunk, had bugs, and a small shower but we made the best of it. One day while we was there we were walking on the pier and this disabled man in a wheelchair was fishing and caught a baby shark and he stopped me to show me what he had caught, and he asked me if I did not mind would I throw the shark back in the water and i looked at him like he was crazy and he told me it was okay to pick it the shark up as long and I did not touch near his mouth, so I go
What's so memorable
When I was 5 years old, my whole family (on my mom’s side); me, my parents, my two older sisters, my oldest cousin and my grandparents, would go to this place in Oregon called Willamette Foothills. Of what I can remember, it was a beautiful place where you could hike and swim. My memory of Willamette is pretty foggy, but I do remember this one spot we use to stop at and swim. It was a pretty decent sized swimming hole and it was very beautiful and always warm but the center of the swimming hole always terrified me. It looked deep, although I’m not sure if it actually was. It, however, was scary dark and I had a very vivid imagination at the time since I was very young, so you can imagine what thoughts came to my head whenever I looked down there. Thoughts such as, a giant eel; long, slimy and black, and sharks.
The acoustics of woodpeckers carving into the wood is like a jackhammer. Birds singing to the tune of Moonlight Sonata. The sacchariferous smell of fresh cut Pine trees and the angelic look of Mother Nature at her sanserif looks like the land of the Avatar. The steel horse was whiter than fresh snow in Alaska. The rest of the colors were as pretty as the American flag. The tires were as black as charcoal. The powertrain on the steel horse revved like the irascibility of a muscular rodeo bull in Texas. It was the first horse that I ever rode. When I first got on it I could feel the roar of the engine like I was riding a tiger in the jungle.
Memories are like a storybook that is embedded into our heads filled with the good, bad, funny, and unforgettable moments that has happened to us through our journey of life. Looking back at moments that has happened in my life I never would have thought that moment would become a memory that will stay with me forever. The day I did archery for the first time at East Elementary has made so many memories for me.
I began walking towards the beach and I stopped at the edge of the beach where I decided to put my toes in the water. As soon as my toes in the water I got this light shiver in my body, where I felt like it touched my soul. I could feel softness when the water covers my leg. At this time, I could remember the time when I used to play with sand and water. I decide to come close to the beach and I could hear fishes screaming frightened of their preys that is looking to eat them. These birds have been trying to find their lunch as they are hungry for it. I can see the dolphins jumping around with a smile on their life. It feels like they having the best time of their life, as
There are certain memories that we have that we can remember like they happened yesterday. Many of those memories that have special meaning to me were of family vacations when I was young growing up with my brothers and sisters. Family memories are important to many of us because they take us back to a time or place that was special. One particular family vacation I remember vividly, and it’s a story I have shared with my kids on many occasions. Over the 40 or more years since that memorable vacation, I still smile and think how lucky I was growing up with a mother and father that did everything to give their kids an unforgettable memory.
