It all began in the late 1800s when Germany and France decided to make the greatest invention that billions of people use all over the world to this day. In 1901 the first car was invented and designed by Wilhelm Maybach for Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft. J.Frank and Charles Duryea of Springfield, Massachusetts designed the first successful American gasoline automobile in 1893. This invention caused many positive results such as factory jobs for millions of people, they transport people to important places, and they give people a sense of freedom. But it also caused some negative results such as car accidents, greenhouse gasses, and toxic chemicals. The automobile has made our lives better because it helps us get to a place we need to go, shows the responsibility of a person, and they are making hybrid cars to help better our environment.

Although Benz built what is considered the first true automobile, it had mechanical errors and there were no suitable roads to drive on. Another seven years passed before the first successful gas-powered car was built in America by Frank and Charles Edgar Duryea in 1893. They later set up the first car manufacturing plant in America to produce identical automobiles (Bruno).

The history of the first automobile is not exactly known but the first creator of a true automobile would go to Karl Benz in Germany during 1885. Although the first automobile was produced in Europe its real potential would not be fully unlocked until many years later in America; these first cars produced in Europe were unreliable and very difficult to produce. Henry Ford was the first person to come up with a reasonable way to build and produce the automobile. First Ford came up to a problem he made cars just like every other car manufacturer with a few people building the cars with only one or two vehicles being produced a day; the cars were called the model A which had two-cylinders and eight-horsepower, and all the parts needed for them were ordered from other better established companies. Ford then created the model T and put his revolutionary new idea into practice to create the Model T which had a 4-cylinder engine and produced twenty horsepower. Karl Benz created the first two stroke engine automobile. Built in January 29,1886, the two stroke engine automobile was powered by an internal combustible engine.(source one). The automobile had a steel frame, electric coil ignition, rack and pinion steering, an evaporative coil system, and some differential rear-end gears. Though it may sound great it only went 8 mph (miles per hour).It also had a speed regulation system which is an accelerator.The system had spark plugs and clutches too. The engine needed a carburetor to blend air and fuel and give it to the engine so it can operate.

Mercedes relies on the rock solid reputation, and for them to build a vehicle outside of Germany is a huge risk, high reward endeavor. However, they believe that their new facility in Vance, Alabama will help them to get the new M-class into the market faster to compete with the Ford Explorer and the Jeep Gran Cherokee.

General Motors is one of the largest car manufacturing companies in the world. Best known for their automobiles, General motors have become a household name and an empire. It did so not only by selecting the right brands and manufacturers to work with but by remaining innovative and creating designs as rapidly as society develops. If you don’t think of GM when thinking of the auto industry, surely one of their many popular brands comes to mind.

When the name Mercedes-Benz is mentioned, it needs no explanation to talk about a well company as it, but most people have no idea about this automobile legacy and its product’s line.
