When you think of the terms luxury, sophistication, quality, class, and excellence as they relate to the automotive industry, none other than Mercedes-Benz should come to mind. Headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, Mercedes-Benz is one of the world’s most successful German automobile manufacturing companies owned by a parent company known as Daimler AG. Daimler AG is also the owner of the car brand known as Smart. The German automotive giant prides itself on its innovative and luxurious automobiles, trucks, buses, and coaches. In addition to the main Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the company owns a high performance division known as AMG, which independently manufactures, engineers, and customizes ultra-high performance Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles. They produce both upgraded Mercedes-Benz vehicles as well as their own unique vehicles, such as the SLS AMG, that aren’t based on standard Mercedes-Benz cars.
History of Mercedes-Benz The roots of Mercedes-Benz can be traced back to Karl Benz, a German man who in 1886 invented and patented the world’s first automobile to be powered by gasoline. This automobile resembled a tricycle in appearance with two rear wheels and one front wheel with a rear mounted single cylinder engine. In a few short months, Gottlieb Daimler in cooperation with his partner Wilhelm Maybach, invented the first four-wheeled vehicle propelled by an engine designed by Daimler. The first Mercedes was built nearly 15 years later in 1901 by Maybach, then commissioned by
It all began in the late 1800s when Germany and France decided to make the greatest invention that billions of people use all over the world to this day. In 1901 the first car was invented and designed by Wilhelm Maybach for Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft. J.Frank and Charles Duryea of Springfield, Massachusetts designed the first successful American gasoline automobile in 1893. This invention caused many positive results such as factory jobs for millions of people, they transport people to important places, and they give people a sense of freedom. But it also caused some negative results such as car accidents, greenhouse gasses, and toxic chemicals. The automobile has made our lives better because it helps us get to a place we need to go, shows the responsibility of a person, and they are making hybrid cars to help better our environment.
He created this steam-powered toy for the Chinese Emperor Chien Lung. There is no recorded information about the vehicle itself, only the event. This marked the beginning of the steam-propelled era. The first full size automobile able to move by its own power was built in 1769 by Nicholas Joseph Cugnot. This vehicle was powered by a steam engine and mainly used as a military tractor. Because of its weight, it could only accelerate to 2.5 miles per hour. Then during 1885 and 1886, the first gasoline vehicle was designed and built by Karl Benz in Germany; this was the first true automobile (Bellis- “The History of the Automobile”). Others before tried to build a full-sized vehicle that could move under its own power, but none succeeded until Benz. Although Benz built what is considered the first true automobile, it had mechanical errors and there were no suitable roads to drive on. Another seven years passed before the first successful gas-powered car was built in America by Frank and Charles Edgar Duryea in 1893. They later set up the first car manufacturing plant in America to produce identical automobiles (Bruno).
The history of the first automobile is not exactly known but the first creator of a true automobile would go to Karl Benz in Germany during 1885. The first vehicle had three wheels and an internal combustion engine (“Karl Benz” Biography.com). Although the first automobile was produced in Europe its real potential would not be fully unlocked until many years later in America; these first cars produced in Europe were unreliable and very difficult to produce. Henry Ford was the first person to come up with a reasonable way to build and produce the automobile. First Ford came up to a problem he made cars just like every other car manufacturer with a few people building the cars with only one or two vehicles being produced a day; the cars were called the model A which had two-cylinders and eight-horsepower, and all the parts needed for them were ordered from other better established companies. Ford then created the model T and put his revolutionary new idea into practice to create the Model T which had a 4-cylinder engine and produced twenty horsepower. His new idea was the assembly line; many people worked to build the cars now and each person did one job every day all day. The people doing these jobs were very
German inventors Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz built the first gasoline- powered automobiles in the mid- 1800’s. For years many tried to build them as well. One of these enthusiastic people was Henry Ford. Ford wanted to make a car that was lighter, faster, and cheaper than any other car made by anyone else.

Karl Benz made the first car in 1886. He was a German inventor. He exclaimed out of what he had discovered. This first vehicle did run on gasoline. However this unbelievable invention has evolved over the years and it's better than riding horse back.
Although Henry Ford is sought of as the inventor of the automobile Karl Benz is generally acknowledged as the inventor of the modern automobile in 1885 Benz began promotion of the vehicle on July 3, 1886 and about 25 Benz vehicles were sold between 1888 and 1893 the first design for an American automobile with a gasoline internal combustion engine was made in1877 by George Selden of Rochester New York however the first running gasoline-powered American car was built and road-tested by the Duryea brothers of Springfield Massachusetts in 1893 the large-scale production-line manufacturing of affordable automobiles was introduced by Ransom Olds in 1902 at his Oldsmobile factory located in Lansing Michigan it isn’t until 1914 that Henry Ford created
Karl Benz created the first two stroke engine automobile. Built in January 29,1886, the two stroke engine automobile was powered by an internal combustible engine.(source one). The automobile had a steel frame, electric coil ignition, rack and pinion steering, an evaporative coil system, and some differential rear-end gears. Though it may sound great it only went 8 mph (miles per hour). It also had a speed regulation system which is an accelerator. The system had spark plugs and clutches too. The engine needed a carburetor to blend air and fuel and give it to the engine so it can operate.
Mercedes-Benz operates on the differentiation strategy. Luxury, prestige and technological innovations drive the company 's production from the high quality small cars and e-bikes of the smart brand, to the premium automobiles of the global corporation.
1). With Deutsche Reich Patent number 37435 granted to him by the German government on January 29, 1886, his three-wheeled car set the spark for years of innovation. Later on that year Benz began to carefully market and sell his automobile to the general population (par. 3). His invention immediately shocked and quickly instigated curiosity of all those who saw his now archaic vehicle, much like Google 's 21st century self-driving vehicle is successfully doing today in the United States of America and around the civilized world.
Many car designers changed the look Marcus’ vehicle, but the major change was done by Emile Levassor, moving the engine to the front of the vehicle with rear wheel drive. This enhanced the vehicles balance and improved steering which constructed the stereotypical build of today’s cars. With the gasoline powered engine outselling all other sorts of motor vehicle, the market blew up so manufactures had to accustom to the need. Many entrepreneurs hopped on the opportunity and started making cars, assembling them piece by piece, and one car at a time resulting in making one hundred vehicles per year.
One thing that Mercedes has been able to do is to build a reputation for itself, built on quality and customer satisfaction. For some, when we hear the name Mercedes, we think of sleek, sexy, and expensive automobiles. However, we also know that when they turn that key, the German engineering behind that vehicle will not fail us. Mercedes relies on the rock solid reputation, and for them to build a vehicle outside of Germany is a huge risk, high reward endeavor. However, they believe that their new facility in Vance, Alabama will help them to get the new M-class into the market faster to compete with the Ford Explorer and the Jeep Gran Cherokee.
General Motors is one of the largest car manufacturing companies in the world. Best known for their automobiles, General motors have become a household name and an empire. It did so not only by selecting the right brands and manufacturers to work with but by remaining innovative and creating designs as rapidly as society develops. If you don’t think of GM when thinking of the auto industry, surely one of their many popular brands comes to mind.
When the name Mercedes-Benz is mentioned, it needs no explanation to talk about a well company as it, but most people have no idea about this automobile legacy and its product’s line. In fact, Mercedes Benz is always associated with the world class brand of cars, buses, coaches and tracks known for their luxurious nature. Mercedes Benz is not a company in itself; Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm May Bach call its parent company Daimler AG, which was founded, in 1890.
