Metallica (also known as the black album) is the eponymously titled fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on August 12, 1991, through Elektra Records. It is a subtle marriage between Thrash Metal's sheer heaviness and Glam Metal movement clean guitars and slowed rhythms, Black Album is, to quote the band, "The Thing That Should Not Be": not because it's bad, but because is contradictory. Could a metal band like Metallica write lines mocking like "Something's wrong, shut the light Heavy thoughts tonight/ And they aren't of Snow White" or confessional like "What I felt, what I've known/ Never shined through what I've shown/ Never be, never see/ Won't see what I've might been" and even ambiguous love declarations
I have chosen to write about one of my favorite alternative rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers from Los Angeles, California. My decision was based upon two things; one being I like the band, while the other was to learn if some of their music is sending the wrong message to our young people. I personally would not consider myself music sappy; never have I really been given a chance to listen to music as I grew up, to find what I like. As of today, I don’t know who sings what song nor really know what the lyric’s mean. With today’s environment young people are given a chance to be inspired by different kinds of media; thus giving them the opportunity to actually find out what the artist is meaning behind the songs. After interviewing four participation;
Kurt Cobain; one of the most famous and influential musicians in the history of rock and roll - more specifically, Grunge. Being a member of Nirvana, the most prominent band in the history of the genre isn’t the only accomplishment of the late, great musician though as he also won many awards. Kurt Cobain had an interesting upbringing, successful musical career, and a life that ended with a sudden death.
“If you came here to see spandex and big hair, this ain’t your band”, Metallica’s “war cry” throughout the early eighties. While the rest of the hard rock bands wanted to get rich and a lot of women, Metallica, as in the words of former lead guitarist Dave Mustaine, “Our hole existence pretty much was guitar, dominating the world and getting liquored up”.
Yesterday, Pearl Jam were (rightfully) nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next year, in their first year of eligibility.
Normally, when you think of Metallica, you think of the heavy metal sound the band is famous for. But, if you think that's the only kind of music the band members, and former band members, enjoy making, you are sorely mistaken.

Keeping it all cool and relaxed in a very demanding genre such as country music requires adamant skill and incomparable passion. Not all country musicians have the guts to stay afloat and be resilient, causing some of them to fall off the trail and never regained what they started anymore. Some have succumbed into the notion that being known once and for a short period of time will suit them well already, while for those who planned to stay as soon as their audience needs them, loving the craft and being addicted to fame are key points for you to succeed. We have known bag shot names such as Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Alison Krauss and Shania Twain to have dominated the country music realm, and yet, we know in our subconscious that there are other great artists just waiting for us to unravel. Take for example the admirable Dierks Bentley, a man who got the country music flowing through his blood as if he’s created just to serve this genre.
Many people do not realize what it means to be a musician, much less a famous musician. You need to be smart, talented and charasmatic. Dave grohl has achieved all three of these things. He has completed the goals of many young men, including myself. Dave has been in many successful bands and written and performed multiple hit songs. Dave Grohl Has many admirable attributes but considering my time constraints, I will only touch a few of them.
There are many phenomenal musicians in the world, but very few as diverse and cultured as Dave Matthews. Matthews was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1967. Matthews and his family then moved two years later to Westchester County, New York, where his dad went to work for IBM. Then, in the early `70s, Matthews and his family moved to Cambridge, England, before returning to New York. It was in Cambridge where Matthews' dad died in 1977 from Hodgkin's disease. After his father's death, the family moved back to South Africa in 1980. It was here that Matthews went to a few different schools and learned more about the evils of government, there and in general.
Stone Temple Pilots were able to turn alternative rock into stadium rock; naturally, they became the most critically despised band of their era. Accused by many critics of being nothing more than ripoff artists who pilfered from Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, the bandmates nevertheless became major stars in 1993. And the influence of those bands was apparent in their music, although Stone Temple Pilots did manage to change things around a bit. STP were more concerned with tight song structure and riffs than punk rage. Their closest antecedents were not the Sex Pistols or Hüsker Dü; instead the band resembled arena rock acts from the '70s -- they made popular hard rock that sounded good on the radio and in concert. No matter what
Alabama’s Million-Dollar Marching owes its success to its directors, various sections, and the upbringings of the band. The band’s first conductor, Colonel Carleton Butler, began the band as a military band in 1914. He was nicknamed the ‘Father of the Million Dollar Band’. His music style included high-paced tempos with quick stepping to elaborate maneuvers.
The Woodstock Music Festival is the most famous 1960s rock concerts, made by four promoters who did not know what exactly they were doing. Even with no experience they still managed to create an impressive masterpiece of a concert that truly captured the feel of the 1960s, with acts by Jefferson Airplane, The Who, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix.
Heavy metal in the 1980’s is hard to describe. Its static style did not change much from the 1970’s, but the lyrics, image, and theatrics took a step forward. Heavy metal had a huge impact in the 1980’s and there were many successful bands.
The heavy metal band Judas Priest was known for being one of the most popular and most respected heavy metal bands on the planet. Even though they have had many members, they have made a huge impact in the heavy metal genre. They were hugely influenced by two of the most popular and well known heavy metal bands of all time.
Rammstein was formed in 1994 after frontman Till Lindemann found most band members in Feeling B (Paul H. Landers, Christoph "Doom" Schneider and Christian "Flake" Lorenz). The name is a memorial to the 1988 Ramstein airshow disaster. After the band gained popularity they denied this as truth. The reason for that is because they made an error when spelling it (the two Ms), because of this it now means “stopping stone” in German. This is the current meaning behind their name until they say something different. The genre of music Rammstein plays is industrial metal.
