Jacksonville and Miami while both in Florida are still very different. Having vacationed in Miami a lot while living in Jacksonville the difference between the two are abundant. The cities are only a 5-hour drive apart from each other but with all their differences they seem like a different world. Some of the main difference I noticed while visiting Miami was the night life, the beaches, and the amount of Spanish spoken in the two cities.
Since 1980, the United States has taken on 10-year plans that outline certain key national health objectives set to be accomplished during a 10-year timeframe (Shi & Singh, 2015). These initiatives are founded on medical care with prevention services, health promotion, education, community health care, and increased access to integrated services. The initiative, Healthy People 2010: Healthy People in Healthy Communities, launched in 2000. The initiative emphasizes the role of community partners such as
After gaining this information about how my community was affected, I decided there needed to be more awareness drawn to the existing organizations in the areas I served that addressed or worked on community health initiatives. I began contacting with local organizations to see if they might be interested in partnering with my organization on already organized events in order begin to combine efforts and to let community members know of services in their area. The event we hosted was in the form of a community event

The mission is to improve the quality of life with early detection and prevention.
The African American Health coalition is a group under the Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency, newly redesigned as the Common Ground Health. Their focus is to create a community response that would eliminate health disparities that affect African Americans within the community (Common Ground Health). The creation of a coalition is due to a need for “different sectors of the community, state or nation” to join together “to create opportunities” to benefit all parties involved (Butterfoss, 157). As well the “strategies for addressing the initial problem” are not a one time solution, but are “sustained” over a long period of time (Korfmacher, 436). The African American Health coalition has done a considerable job at not only creating opportunities

The Health Quality Subcommittee is a House committee composed by different representatives. The jurisdiction of the Florida Health Quality Subcommittee includes bills and matters related to health care programs, health care systems and health research. Therefore, the main goal of the committee is the discussion of decisions, plans and actions in order to achieve the Florida’s health care goals.
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — What started out as a typical meeting of the South Charleston City Council turned into a discussion about the heroin problem in the city and region.
When it comes to scientific research, the goal of the health initiative is to use the principles of measuring the action of the surrounding Miami-Dade community to utilize educational programs to improve health and implement free screening testing for all persons in the community. The purpose of the proposed program is to increase patient centered care, create coordination with local health providers and improve access to care for patients with chronic
The city officials of Southern Florida looked to expand the inner city of Miami to attract tourism for which it depended much of its economic growth to. However, most of the black population lived close by downtown Miami in the Central Negro District. A little under half of all minority families were below the poverty line with almost 85 % of blacks working as non-skilled labors. These individuals lived in slums with little financial means and little political power to stop the City’s encroachment. In the eyes of Miami’s city officials, the black communities had to be moved so the city planners could use their land for new building projects to make the city a commercial hub. One of the methods the City used was eminent domain. This power allowed
Miami Dade College is a government funded educational institution that started more than 50 years ago as a community college, with only one campus, and has grown to eight campuses, offering associates, bachelors degrees, and professional certificates.
Arizona General Hospital is examining ways to deliver and expand quality healthcare to as many of our clientele as possible in the rural community. I would like to propose an organized community health fair that will offer various practical benefits for the public as well as our facility. We can utilize our highly trained and motivated professional team along with community collaboration to resourcefully contribute to the needs of the community. A health fair will enable Arizona General Hospital to extend our services through health education, disease prevention, and diagnostic screening, which in the long run is a cost effective intervention. An attractively planned community event will create a purpose for the scattered community to unite and be well-informed. Examination of barriers to healthcare can be addressed and Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) benefits can be reviewed to encourage full use of the indemnity. The health fair will target children and adults to accommodate the entire community. Giveaways, incentives, and items with our advertisement and contact information could be handed out so that everyone walks away with something special and useful for future reference. A prosperous health fair requires the essential components of planning, health education and screening objectives, and executing an evaluation. I will review each element with supported research on the benefits of creating a community health fair to enhance optimal
The first group was a performance by the Miami Dade College jazz faculty and students. It was a quartet by Tim Brent on keyboard/vocalist, instrumental jazz coordinator Matthew Bonelli on electric bass, Jack Ciano on drum set, and MDC alumnus Felix Gomez on piano. Also, the group introduced a Miami Dade College Kendall student and trumpet Jose Romerowill. There were two original compositions; Lost is Love composed by Tim Brent and R.C. composed by Felix Gomez. The group also played songs written by jazz composers such as Sonny Rollins, Joe Sample, and Neil Larsen. Each player had the opportunity to have a solo. Vocalist Tim Brent delivered a great performance when he was singing rather than playing keyboard in “Lost is love”. Jose Romerowill
The program, being a health education and promotion program with the aim of achieving at least 50% increased awareness of CHD, its risk factors, prevention and control measures, as well as a 50% reduced incident rate by December 2016 within the Los Angeles county, strategic partners will be required. Besides the program coordinator, who will be the leader of the program and the health educator who will lead the education segment of the program, other members of the coalition will be the epidemiologist, the IT specialist, the mayor, a local church (and the clergy), a local bank (as well as the manager), hospital and medical professionals (a medical doctor and a public health nurse), a dietitian, a gym and exercise instructor.
