Most people know of Michael Vick as a professional football player. But in 2007, he created national attention for something other than his athletic ability. He was accused and convicted of running a professional dog fighting ring, and he 'd torture the dogs that proved themselves weak and bad fighters. It was bad enough he was committing these crimes, but to be representing the country as a highly paid athletem, led national controversy, and with that, discussions of the ethical issues surrounding the matter. People (fans) think he got off lucky, givin ' his predicament of being wealthy and one of the greatest football players of all time. People believe that Michael Vick should 've received a worse punishment for his operation, which included the killing of dogs who proved themselves weak. It 's very possible that Michael Vick got off because he 's rich, famous, and most likely well-liked, despite his personal history. Most people feel compelled to believe that if he was an ordinary citizen, his short prison sentence would 've been a lengthier one. Michael Vick lost a lot of fans from his horrendous acts and people didn 't want to see him in a place other than jail for his heinous crimes. In August 2007, Vick pleaded to federal felony charges and served 21 months in prison, followed by two months in home confinement. Vick filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after being hurt financially by the loss of his NFL salary, product endorsement deals, and financial mismanagement.
Would you want your whole career ruined due to a mistake? Professional athletes more than likely label as the “Golden Children” and are expected to never do anything wrong. These athletes are the one’s little kids and young athletes look up to and aspire to be. One mistake and this can all go away. Everyone makes mistakes, but professional athletes take the fall harder due to their fame and fortune. Although professional athletes are in the public eye, their career should not be ruined due to crimes people commit every day because, underneath all the fame and fortune, they are just regular people.
Many people believe that professional athletes are “above the law”. In reality, they are human beings like you and me who, no matter what the circumstances, can and will be charged like an average person. The offense of the crime can certainly come into play on whether or not a professional athlete who commits a crime should be allowed to play again.
Though this NFL conduct is in the light, it is unnecessary because the U.S. criminal justice system has the ability to end the professional sports careers of society’s worst criminals. Everyone asked themselves how could such a successful, talented person throw their opportunity away like this? Crimes from the past always catch up and come to light in the justice system. The NFL from now on is trying to prevent incidents like this from happening from making their off field standards stronger, and making consequences stronger that come with
I do agree that Tom Brady is unethical if indeed he did deflate these balls. However in this situation even if he is proven to be innocent then his charter will still be questioned as he was brought into this situation. For a leader to break the rules it defiantly questions his ethics in his career and in his life. With this it brings so many questions. Has he ever cheated on a game, how long has this been going on and if he did this then what else did he do to win? Since he was accused of this I feel that his charter will always be in question. I feel that he has no courage is in question as it now seems that he feels that he has to cheat to win. I also feel that he has lost his honor by doing this even if he didn’t do it he is still a suspect
Would you call yourself a person of high moral character if you were to watch and participate in national gladiator exhibitions every Sunday? With the recent comparison of the NFL to gladiator exhibitions, many fans also questioned if they should support the NFL. Gladiators or football players are sent in to arena’s knowing that they could have their brains, backs, joint, knees and other body parts completely injured. Not only are the players putting themselves in a postions for their morals to be questioned, but individuals that buy tickets and continue to support the sport are also looked at as not being someone that truly cares about the ethical issues. However, the root issues are the NFL commissioners and leaders that continue to allow the sport to be played in a violent way without giving the players all the help that they need.

Different quarterbacks have different strengths and weaknesses, and each one is better suited for a particular playing style. Quick and athletic quarterbacks for example are able to go on a run before throwing passes, while others prefer to stay behind their offensive linemen and pass the ball. Others are better at throwing the ball long distances, others short. Their whole skillset is defined by attributes such as acceleration, strength, throw power etc. When selecting your team, bear in mind that your quarterback should suit your playing style. Remember to always check his stats and make your decision based on whether he is the right player for you or not.
In Summary, Michael Vick has rebuilt himself by speaking for The Humane Society, Helping the pit-bulls that he abused, and by helping to pass laws that ensure the safety of
The court system may have allowed many of these players to walk away from very serious crimes with inadequate punishment while the NFL’s response did little to discourage criminal behavior. Because of this, the first part of the solution lies with the judicial system to begin holding players accountable to the same standards as the average American citizen. Michael Vick served just a year and a half behind bars in a state that routinely sentences individuals to five-year terms for the same crime (Humane Society). In the case of O.J. Simpson, a jury of his peers allowed him to walk out of a courtroom a free man despite compelling
“The NFL must open its eyes to the consequences of its actions. The NFL has the power not only to give former players the care they deserve, but also to ensure that future generations of football players do not suffer the way that many in my generation have.” (“Mega-Lawsuit”).
We are here today to recognize and celebrate Tom Brady becoming the winningest quarterback in NFL history. The 4th of December marked the time where Tom’s number of wins exceeded Peyton Manning 's to mark him as the quarterback with the most wins in NFL history. 201 is the number and everyone in New England has been diligently counting Tom’s wins since Peyton Manning retired. Like every New England sports fan, Tom is my guy and I will put my money on him against any opponent. You may think I’m being too informal when I address Tom Brady as Tom, but it’s what we do in New England. 99% of us do not have a direct relationship with Tom, but we have an indescribable connection that gives us the right to call him Tom.
Tom Brady is widely considered to be one of the best athletes of today’s day and age, and thought of by many as possibly the best quarterback in NFL history. Numerous factors have led to his overall success in football over the past 20 or so years, but nothing has been as important as his own implicit personality structures. Brady has dealt with a lot of negative feedback ever since he started playing football; people telling him he wasn’t good enough to play or that he wasn’t tough enough to be a quarterback in the NFL. His whole career has been a balancing act of proving people wrong by continuing to surpass what was thought to be humanly possible on the field. He has clearly surpassed expectations on and off the field, because of this success it is acceptable to ask the question of how his personality has helped lead to his success in the NFL. Furthermore, Brady is clearly a person high in conscientiousness and self-control, therefore another question that could be debated is how would he cope with not being able to play the game he loves.
Some people forgive Michael Vick for what he did and some people don't. Vick saw his first dogfight when he was about 7 or 8, he said that he didn't think that it was wrong because the police didn't do anything about it. And no one really cared about it either. He thought that dog fighting was fair ok to do. In 2007 Mike Vick went to jail for dog fighting. He was caught by his cousin which was taken to jail for having drugs in his vehicle, and the man gave Vicks the police went to Vick’s house and they found these building behind his house. He was running a dogfighting business called “Bad Newz Kennelz”. He went to a FBI agent and lied to them. The second time around he pleaded guilty. He knew that he mest up. In a conference before he went to Kansas to be put in jail he asked for understanding and forgiveness. 18 months later he got out of jail and went to his house in Virginia and was in house arrest. People should forgive him he spent 18 months in jail, that's for a 1 year and 6 months. Come on Vick spent his time. Let's put it this way: A friend is in jail for 18 months, would you forgive
