Misha Collins is widely known as Castiel, angel of the Lord, from the CBS and Time Warner Corporation’s (The CW’s) prominent show, Supernatural. Ever since his appearance in season four, Misha and his character have been accepted as part of the Supernatural family. Misha has even developed a fan base who have proclaimed themselves “Misha’s minions”. With the help of his “minions”, Misha has become an influence worldwide with the creation of his organization The Random Acts, G.I.S.H.W.H.E.S., and from the awards he has won as a result. Misha co-founded his organization, The Random Acts in the winter of 2009. It all started with a tweet to his “minions”, asking for a ““minion stimulus” project. The goal was to obtain US government stimulus …show more content…
The scavenger hunt is a week long, worldwide event. All participants are part of a 15 person team. A person can create their own team, or they can sign up online, and the team will be created for them. The cool thing is one could be on the same team as someone all the way over in Europe! Once the hunt starts, Misha airs a video online with a short speech, and along with the video, releases a list of the things participants must “find”. But not everything is necessarily something to be found. Some of the things a team must create. Each thing a team may “find” is worth points. But as proof a team actually “found” things, they must document them in the form of a picture or video, and post them online. At the end of the week, the team with the most points gets to travel somewhere, personally, with Misha, and spend the weekend with him. Above all, the point of G.I.S.H.W.H.E.S. is to inspire and influence people to get creative! Some things from the 2012 list that teams had to find, or create, were as follows: “Find an object that was manufactured the day and year you were born in the city or town of your birth. Get your team name and "GISHWHES" on a billboard. Must include commercial-looking graphics, and be on an actual commercial billboard at least 100 square feet in area. Hand in coats you've collected from your home, friends, and neighbors to a local homeless shelter. Get an orchestra in a symphony hall with at
And most students wish that they could just complete a project because they WANT to! That’s kind of how I see the yearbook. We could go any direction with it! We could do a classic, “A Year to Remember” all the way to a twist on Google’s “You Are Here.” I would do good working on backgrounds and creating unique ideas for layouts. I enjoy creating designs for really anything. I often create binder covers for friends, make magazine collages, and in August I organized my cousins My Little Pony/ Frozen birthday party. I made her invitations, designed her cake, etc. The great thing about yearbook staff is that our “free will project” isn’t something we’ll work hard on and then throw away after it’s graded! The finished product is something hopefully all of our class will keep into their adulthood to look back on and remember where they came from and what shaped them into who they
The first person to fill in all of their squares without repeating a name wins. Tell students to raise their paper and call out if they think they have won. 7. Give students time to complete their scavenger hunt. Walk around the classroom while students are engaged to make sure everyone is playing fairly and nobody is running. Call time when a student has announced they have finished and have students quietly freeze where they are standing while you check the possible winning sheet. If the student is mistaken, have the class resume the activity. If not, ask students to return to their seats. 8. Discuss the scavenger hunt with students. Who learned something new about their classmates? What did they learn? Why was it important to use good listening skills during the scavenger hunt? Why was it important to use good speaking skills? 9. If time allows, students can practice their reading and listening skills online with interactive stories at this Web site http://www.alfy.com/Storyville 10. 11. Evaluation: 12.
We held a camp for the Jr. Titans that ran in July. I loved seeing how happy these kids are learning and playing a new sport. They were all so eager to learn and play, even if they were not able to do the thing they were learning. This not only brought the Jr. Titans together but it
My project would address the need of girls who want to play softball but may not have the means to purchase the needed equipment. Many kids across America want to play sports but parents cannot afford the expensive equipment which allows them play. Being on a sports team has a positive effect on kids because they encourage teamwork, friendships and leadership while allowing the child to get needed exercise. The skills children learn on a sports team will help them create a stronger workforce. I will be working with the Peachtree City Girls Softball Association located at Meade Fields in Peachtree City. They will help collect the equipment, distribute the equipment to girls in need and will store the equipment in the off-season. For my overall
A group that I had to participate in recently was for an event called GISHWHES, or the “Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen”, which is a weeklong scavenger hunt that happens every year in the beginning of August. The purpose of the event is to promote random acts of kindness, all over the world in groups consisting of fifteen people. My group consisted not only of a wide variety of different people from all over the United States, but a few people from other countries as well. In fact, one of the members of my group was from Sweden and another from Argentina. The official team leader was a woman by the name of Courtney, but everybody still had to take charge since the group was separated. In my group we accomplished
We provide music with a DJ. There are fuse ball and corn hole. It is a fun and safe place for students to go. Specifically, I assisted in creating the decorations for the event. It takes a lot of people and a lot of decorations to transform a school to make it look like a specific thing.

The scavenger hunt consisted of 260+ high students and 300+ middle school students in the Jefferson state. Every school has at least 1 coach or mentor.
GISHWHES is an international scavenger hunt which connects zealous people to their community and others like them through unusual tasks. GISHWHES inspires people to be creative each year with over 150 tasks such as snapping a picture of a homeowner tanning while a Stormtrooper cleans their pool. The team that completes the most of these missions in a week gets to spend an all-inclusive vacation with Misha Collins (Torres). In addition to inspiring creativity, GISHWHES takes people out of their comfort zones and makes them work with new people. Emma Buchman comments on how GISHWHES brings people together from all over the world, regardless of their race or identity. Buchman remarks, “You work with people not just in your own area, but also with a worldwide community of over 94 countries. My friends and I worked with people from Colorado, Ohio, and Canada...The main goal of GISHWHES is to bring everybody together: race, gender, sexual orientation and general weirdness combined” (Buchman). One of the goals of GISHWHES is to help creative people who feel lonely or dejected find new friends with similar tastes. Furthermore, GISHWHES allows people to collaborate with scavenger hunters all over the world and create lifelong relationships. GISHWHES also encourages scavenger hunters to support their own communities. Jennifer Rodriguez talks about
I have been continuing with the word scavenger hunt and it appears to be successful with the clients. Each week I have been finding more and more of them joining in. Even the ones that wish not to participate at first will join in once it starts. The secret sentences get slightly longer each week to accommodate the growing number of participants. I usually feel a slight anxiety before I start the game, wondering if it would be successful, but now after five tries, I have no doubt in its success.
My co-worker thought it would essentially be fun to have spirit week in which would entail days of the week which were promoted to certain themes along with food themes that would help promote giving. She also wanted to incorporate flyers and posters around the office that would highlight the many advantages of United
Right now we are working on building toys and puzzles for the kinders at our school as well as for the local charity organization, The Cottonwood Mission, for those that cannot afford gifts for the holidays. Our scrap wood puzzles provide a simple, environmentally friendly brain teaser for anyone who wants it; our toys are quality gifts of all different
This week, I contributed primarily to three different aspects of the project: the game, the skit, and the STAAR-like questions. On Monday, I helped complete our game. The game, similar to Apples to Apples, consists of several rounds. Each round someone draws a fallacy card and a topic card. Each player, except one who acts as judge, must make a logical fallacy specified on the card regarding the topic drawn. The judge chooses the best answer and the player who gets the point must then explain why their statement was fallacious and provide a correct alternative. This week, I helped to establish the rules and structure for the game and complete the set of thirty fallacy cards. For each fallacy card, I listed a specific logical fallacy and an
Before we began any work with our sponsor, we knew the overall goal was to assist and improve their annual “Fantastic Girltastic Code Company App Challenge” event. In our initial conversation with our contact from the YWCA, Meg Grady, she made it very clear of what our team would be responsible for:
This is also a special players and the fourth person plays for free. We hope that this will others. Moreover, another advantage we have is that many students are familiar with and enjoy pricing benefit that sets our scavenger hunt apart from the scavenger hunts as there is a sense of thrill. Since the theme of our hunt will be "Escape to . Freedom", students will be more motivated as they will earn a sense of thrill through our activity. Word of talk is something that will promote our activity throughout lunch and we would the more interested activity, we participants. With the incentive of a factors like financial status and entertainment preferences of students in mind, w predict that our event will be extremely successful. As a group we estimated that we would have a minimum of forty studentsgetting involved in our scavenger hunt. We hope to get a larger range of King students from all grades in order to have a much diverse result. Our ticket fee is quite low, which gives students the opportunity to get involved and have fun with our scavenger hunt. We predict that our expenses will cost around ten
