So in wrestling there are multiple moves you can do. These moves are probably the most basic moves you are taught and the most commonly used moves done today. The first move is the double leg takedown.”The double leg takedown is a flying tackle similar to a football tackle”(Douglas). For a double leg takedown there are a lot of little steps that you may need to execute this move correctly. The first thing you need to do is perform a setup and then to perform a penetration step. The next thing you are gonna wanna do is to place your head on either side of your opponent. Next you are going to want to push your chest up against your opponent's thighs and hips. The less space you have the better control you will have over your opponents strong …show more content…
Typically, the lower part of the leg is pulled in one direction, while the torso or shoulder is used to press the body or upper part of the leg of the opponent in the other direction. Another great takedown is the duck under. In a duck under, the wrestler pulls the opponent's elbow forward and away from the body, lowers his own head, and ducks under the opponent's arm in an effort to get behind or at least beside the opponent; from this position the opponent can be taken down by lifting and throwing or by a leg trip. Then for the best and most used move everyone uses in wrestling, the half nelson. “The half nelson is referred to by most coaches as being the easiest, but most effective move in folkstyle wrestling”(Wrestling Moves). It involves you using only one hand, by passing it under the arm of the opponent and locking the hand on the opponent's neck. Then you will run him over until his back is fully on the mat. Then you will want to get chest to chest to make sure that he can’t get out of it. You will hold it there until he is pinned or until you get your nearfall points. So there are a lot of wrestling moves to know about, but in order to be good at these moves, you must choose to eat healthy so you can execute these moves
In the first 20 seconds of the match, I had the first take-down. I was working crossfaces, cheap tilts, and everything else I knew after my takedown. Then, I did what I do best and gave him a swift, hard crossface and cradeled him up. Squeezing with all my strength and might it took about 7 seconds of him being on his back and he was pinned! It took a total of 55 seconds to pin my first opponent at state.
Wrestling is a sport with a long history and offers many benefits in today’s world. This paper will explore the history of the sport of wrestling as the sport of wrestling has been around since biblical times. There are many facts and myths about wrestling. This paper will take you through the history of wrestling and address the benefits it provides to children and athletes of modern times. Wrestling can change lives, let’s learn how.
For warm ups we would run for at least 10 minutes around the track, after that we stretched and did burpees and up-downs, it was very hard work in the core and upper body. We one time had to team up with a person farthest from your weight class and hold at least a 9 lb medicine ball over our heads and run through the halls. Training was hard since I didn’t have any girls in my weight class other than smaller boys which I didn’t really want to wrestle. I decided to work with a girl that was at least 20lbs more than me, which made me push more harder.
Wrestling has been a very important factor in my life ever since someone suggested it my freshman year of high school. Even though I have not wrestled a lot I would say I am very literate in the sport.
The holds in this chapter are interchangeable and it does not matter what side of the body I decide to apply the hold too. My goal is to remain “flexible” and as I transition to the back of the person I take what the person is giving me. One thing to keep in mind with these standing holds is if the person is similar in size to me or extremely combative, I am not necessarily trying to keep them in one place. If the person is able to move around some that is fine; I just move my feet with them and keep my body tight to theirs. When I make the person carry my body weight around it can be exhausting for them. I often make my opponent carry my weight around in Grappling or Mixed Martial Arts. In my experience most people do not train properly for this and they get tired much quicker than they anticipated from me constantly “clinching” with them.
Practices would start by running trail and stretching is still the way we start practice. The first half hour is the only thing easy about this two hours. The second half hour is spent shooting high crotches and double legs like in a match. This is when the sweat starts to pore. Following that is live wrestling. Occasionally we will wrestle a card like in high school but it is normally not going to be that easy. One of the hardest things is to wrestle twenty minute matches with a short break for an hour. The most common way we work on ground wrestling is thirty second goes. A thirty second go is when with your partner you wrestle for thirty second the guy on
Use your large muscles in your legs to power the activity, keep the load as close to you as possible, and make sure you have a good grip. In case of a person, check that the movement and your grip doesn’t cause discomfort.
You have to be responsible of knowing all the one-step sparring’s and forms. When you make a mistake in a form, the lower belts copy you make the same mistake. If you make a mistake in a one-step, you might injure the person and twist the wrong muscle.
Move to the low beam and attempt it there. It is quite scary to get over the fear of doing it so at any point, have someone spot the gymnast. After that, try it on a high beam. There are a couple different ways to do a backwalkover like, have your good leg lightly touch the beam or lift the leg to start. Make sure enough power is being pushed back, so it is easier to kick the leg over. However, having a lot of power increases the percentage of falling off, so learning to control all the power is a must. Now you can show off a back walkover on the high

* Take the bottom part (heel) of your hand and deliver 5 separate forceful strikes between the person's shoulder blades.

Once in the air, the left arm swings down first as a guide hand, then the right arm follows and contacts the top of the ball while snapping the wrist. Then follow through to the right hip. It is important to land on both of your feet instead of just one to refrain from injury.
Breathe in, while slowly lifting your lower back, middle back and upper back off the floor. Gently roll in your shoulders. Touch your chest to your chin without bringing the chin down.
