Batman has pretty much always had a sidekick, but none have worked out as well as Robin has. So what is so different about Robin that has made their relationship last so long, and how did their relationship become so strong throughout the years? When Gardner Fox writes these stories he constantly reminds us how Robin compliments Batman in more ways than just being his sidekick. When Batman makes Robin part of his team, he not only saves Robin but Robin saves Batman in a way as well, he gives him a sense of compassion and a feeling of having a family again. Pulling him away from the darkness that he constantly battles with. Robin is that light showing a brighter, friendlier side to the war on crime. A voice of reason that always puts Batman on his feet, softening the harsh view Batman has of the world. Before Robin Batman was darker and more violent, and that was good for adults but the creators also wanted to include the young adult audience. Creating Robin with the child like personality seemed fit for the goal they wanted to reach, and it worked well.
Robin, the faithful sidekick to the Dark Knight is not just a sidekick but a best friend, co-worker, son, and in some sense an advisor to Batman. Not only is he an anchor for him, he has kept Batman from falling down a dark hole many times before and will do so in the future as well, the best way he can. Robin will always be there for him even when he least expects it. Popping up during cases Batman purposely went alone on,
Everyone knows about Joker’s struggles with mental health. However, there’s another that goes unseen until this film. Though, it's evident in the comics. Jason Todd is best recognised as Batman’s second sidekick, Robin. Although, few people have analysed the second Robin's issues with bipolar. This includes other mental issues that made him a potentially
The main conflicts in the world of The Dark Knight Returns revolve around escalating crime in Gotham city and forces of the authority attempting to control it. The authority should be a moral force and represent justice. The figures that represent the authority should be selfless and work only to promote the integrity of law and order. Authority proves to be contradictory in Miller’s novel as the authoritative figures express qualities of vigilantism and overall moral ambiguity.
Laberge explains that Batman has described as the image of the adventure as well as the cartoon that has taken the American world and admired by the kids and adults of all ages. The Batman also established the character of the superhero as well as the person who is a symbol of strength and enthusiasm regarding believing in himself. Separate from most superheroes, Batman has no unique powers, identifying him as a more convenient symbol of American values. The writer clearly states that Batman and Robin represents the 'real' American Dream. Many parodies were made afterward the series become the popular and Batman is
Batman is a depiction of hope. Batman was the answer to a lot of people’s problems in a place where nobody felt safe like they should in their home. He was like the rain after a long, dry spell for
When you think of psychology what is the the first name that comes to mind? My guess is that you thought of Sigmund Freud. Even though none of his theories of dreams or sexuality have any empirical evidence, he is still one of the most influential figures in all of philosophy. One of Freud’s ideas that does have substance is the idea that our minds are dynamic and contain both conscious and unconscious memories, thoughts, and desires. Freud labeled these phenomena the id, ego, and superego. While the nuances of this theory are complex and somewhat monotonous, they are brought to life in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. The chaotic and childish joker (id), the pure and valiant Harvey Dent (superego), and the one responsible for finding a balance between the two, Batman (ego).
He is fearless in protecting his home, Gaetland, as well as the people of Danes and King Hrothgar. He easily gains the people’s trust and proves that he is reliable. Like Beowulf, Batman is also a loyal
Is Batman a hero? Batman is a hero because he follows the hero cycle. The hero cycle that batman follows is easily split into 3 sections, departure, initiation, and return.
If I could be a superhero for a day I would be DC's, Red Robin before the new 52. I like the backstory of Red Robin before the new 52, but I love the custom for the new 52 version of him. Red Robin or Timothy Jackson Drake is a unique character to me. Timothy at a young age was considered a genius. He is also a better detective than even Batman himself. He is praised by Ra Al Ghul and was given the nickname "Detective" which was the nickname Ra used for Batman. He found out Batman and Robin's secret identity when he was nine years old. He also is on par with Oracle or Barbara Gordon's computer and hacking skills. He decided to dedicate his custom to the "fallen" second robin, Jason Todd, who was murdered by the hands of the Joker. Timothy
Also, speaking of the robin, in the movie he doesn’t make a big appearance. Yes he is there, but in the book he is made out to be almost a main character, and a close companion to Mary. Yes it is said that he does become a friend of Mary, but after that you don’t see much of him. Not until spring that is. I really wish they had used more of him in the movie.
Robin would love to have a family and settle down and live a normal life like most people do, but he does not think he can because he thinks there might be people who he has robbed that will take is family and either kill them or torture them, which something Robin would not want to risk anything at all” I want to have a simple life, but I don’t know if the life is meant for me” (Sullivan 202), this shows that he wants a family, but does not know if he would be ready to have one with his crazy schedule he has or the everyday job he would have to settle for, which he thinks would bore him to death. His other decision is to keep on doing what he is doing, which makes him happy with all the kids he is helping, which is what he is somewhat leaning towards because less of a chance less people he loves will get harmed and if he stops the life he has right now who will fund the orphanage/ hospital, which he does not want to leave it up to other people to help out with. Robin debating about his future shows that he is searching for an
Batman: The Dark Knight directed by Christopher Nolan is non-stop action thriller that continually did the unexpected. The film is based off of the original Batman comic book but additionally changes the perception of the everyday world as good to naturally bad. Throughout the movie, Batman stands for honesty and goodness while the Joker is a symbolism of chaos and evil. Both sides are forced to make quick-witted decisions in order to stop the opposing vigilante from doing his desired work. The citizens of Gotham are put in the heart of this circumstance and feel obligated to go against their values to stop the chaos. Numerous people habitually pursue their dreams and values but often become blinded from their
Batman originally began as a DC Comics' detective a superhero quite different from the one envisioned by Nolan and company today. Batman was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger in 1939 for Detective Comics, and for more than two decades it depicted a hero defined by his mystery-solving techniques and cast of quirky characters against whom his braininess and eccentric costume could be balanced (along with his knack for solving crimes). Needless to
Robin Hood, unlike many of the contemporary iterations of medieval legends like King Arthur, is lies outside of the literary realm and more in the confines of popular culture. Robin Hood himself was born out of medieval ballads and folk culture. Thus, stories that revolve around Robin Hood are not tied down by any pretense of historical authenticity and therefore the narrative is malleable. This kind of Middle Ages story is known as Speculative fantasy fiction and it is quite popular for referencing the Middle Ages but also bringing in a more fantastical or anachronistic elements to the stories themselves. While Robin Hood is a character that came into existence during the Middle Ages and has an established canonical back-story, the folk story nature of the character himself lends itself to having the legend continued, retold, and
Batman is one of the many fictional superheroes which appears in the “American comic books” that is published by the DC comics. The character is a secret identity for Bruce Wayne, the only heir to Wayne Enterprises. Bruce Wayne swore an oath of vengeance when he witnessed the death of his parents;Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne (Diamond, 2015). Bat man combats criminals in Gotham: a fictional city, with assistance from various characters, for example, his butler Alfred and Gordon; Gotham city police commissioner. Unlike many of the superheroes characters, Batman possesses no powers .Bruce Wayne trained himself intellectually and physically .it is from dedication to training he possessed the useful traits of physical prowess, martial arts skills, detective skills and indomitable will to fight for justice. Though his motive is to combat crime and protect people of Gotham city from criminals, the justice system in most of the times views Batman as a villain and vigilante. He can inflict fear to Gotham city criminals thereby bringing calmness to the city. I identify myself with the Batman character through his selfless will for justice, his strong determination to do good
I’ve decided to write my discussion post about the Dynamic Duo Batman and Robin. Batman and Robin are a team of super heroes/vigilantes who protect the citizens of Gotham from the dangerous villains. This Dynamic Duo has protected Gotham from crazy psychopaths and murderers such as: Two Face, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Penguin, Bane, and the Joker. Both Batman and Robin have faced many struggling times throughout their lifetimes. Not only was Batman’s parents murdered right in front of him, but Dick Grayson’s (Robin “The Boy Wonder”) parents were also murdered in front of him while performing acrobatics. Later in life, Bruce Wayne (Batman) vowed to protect the people of Gotham from scum like the person who took his parents away from him. In a
