I built my first computer in 1997 installing a brand new 2.4ghz wireless card. At that point in time not knowing how this frequency was going to have such a profound effect on the world. I have seen it change from a simple telephone Tx Rx to a device that allows people to upload their every waking moment. But it has far more practical uses than this, you see this frequency has saved mine and others lives on numerous occasions. Working as a communications specialist in the Armed Forces over the last 15 years has shown me the value of telecommunications and I now know that the world we have built is quite literately at the mercy of the networks that bridge the entire planet.

I was responsible for a network that fused multiple radars to a computer system to a loud speaker array to provide an early warning of rocket attacks, giving soldiers and civilians the chance to take cover. This was running on WiFi which presented its own troubles as the 2.4ghz and 5ghz range were saturated with many different devices. I was constantly rebuilding the network which at one point had over 120 units deployed within an area the size of Reading. During my time in the forces I was to become an instructor on many systems of communication from radios to radars.
I am a highly motivated and committed leader and know the value of teamwork having led teams under the tightest of deadlines within austere conditions, and what I lack in recognised qualifications I more than make up for it in a wide variety of experiences. I could write about what I have accomplished for far more than this form allows, but that is in the past. In the present and future I want to do better, to study something that I am keen to learn not just for me but for the betterment of my whole family.
Since joining the military I have come to appreciate the value of education, while working with some spectacular Officers and the two leading defence contractors Lockheed Martin and BAE I have seen first hand where a solid education will take you.
Having been forced to re evaluate my direction over the last two years I believe that university is my best option. I enjoy mastering computer
My Mother and Father relocated from Costa Rica to New York City where they met got married and where I was born. When I was just two years old, always wanting the best for us, my father moved our family from New York City to Jacksonville, FL in search of a better paying job and the American dream so he could provide us with a better quality of life. To ensure we were always clothed and feed, my father sacrificed everything for us and worked long hours to do so. Though I did have a pronounced, safe and active upbringing the North Florida school system didn’t expect much from the Hispanics that were starting to move to the then small town; unfortunately since my parents worked so much they expected the school system
After the completion of my high school career, I obtained a job at Radio Shack.I worked as a sales associate for approximately one year, after which I joined the U.S. Army. I left for Army Basic Combat Training on September 2012 and graduated in December of that same year. I was assigned to Joint Base Lewis McCord in Washington state for the past three years. While at Lewis McCord I took some college classes at the local community college. I plan to continue my education by obtaining a bachelors degree and excelling in my Military
I was born in Minneapolis, MN where I was raised. Graduated from Champlin Park High School in 2001. In 2003 I attended Dunwoody College of Technology and graduated in 2006 with 2 A.A.S. degrees. One in Electrical Construction and Maintenance and the other in Automated Systems in Robotics. After graduation I moved to Las Vegas, NV where I worked as a commercial electrician for 3 years.
1. I have already reached my Professional goals. I am a retired U.S. Army Soldier. I currently work for the United States Postal Service, I have been employed with them for over 16 years now. My personal goals are what I am focusing on now. I would like to get a degree in Social Science. You see my wife and I have adopted two little girls and I want to teach them how important a education is, also, I would like to go back and work for the State as a Social Worker.
My darkest hour was also the moment I became a man. When all my years of training, all the blood, sweat, and tears of running, aiming, skills training, and hand to hand combat had finally been put to the test. My first kill. It wasn’t a proud moment but it was one on necessity and choice that I’ve played over and over again and I still get the same result. It would have gone exactly the same.
It has imcatede me personally because i couldnt see a world without this instant way of communication. I love my phone, and i dont know how i would function without it. It has also affected me because we all relay so much on it. We want news storys, and big events, ect, all instenttaniusly, but back ten it took days, weeks, or moths to reach the outer most parts of the U.S. it goes for the World as well to hear of the current news, or other events that jave taken place.
I have wanted to go into the military since i was very young. Most children say that they want to be a firefighter or a doctor, but i said that i wanted to be in the military. I remeber looking at pictures and learning about military officers and i felt called to be one of those men. My decision and dreams never changed, as most childrens do when they realize the work required. But for reasons beyond my comprehension, my desire of a miltary life never wavered. Both of my parents' fathers served in the military, one n the Air Force and one in the Army. They told me stories of their days in the military, bragging of their different branhes and I took what they said and choose a school that woud lead to a career in neither of their branches.
Janis Karpinski once said “The war was declared over - the end of major combat operations - in May 2003. Release procedures got under way immediately; reducing the population from 8,000 to just over 300, of course, requires fewer military police soldiers.” As a child, I always wanted to protect my country and be a part of a positive cause. The career of a ARMY Combat Operations Enlisted is an challenging and remarkable career, because of the duty you do for your country and all the training needed. The research will describe the career of ARMY Combat Operations Enlisted soldier, what is required to become a successful, and the impact this career has on society.
1. I was born in Lexington, Kentucky on September 27, 1986. I have five sisters, I am the fourth child, and I am the only son to my parents.
A normal community is a group of people that live in the same place, but my community is different as its spread out all over the world. I chose to look at the needs of the military community, as it is the only true community I have been apart during my adult life. The military community is a special group of service members and their families who have different lifestyles than most and share a unique, family like bond. For my report I chose to interview two military spouses, currently stationed in two different states, to get a better feel for what our spread out community needs. During their interviews they each gave me different, yet important answers.
Frequency Hopping has impacted me in many ways. The first major reason is how I can use wifi and not data. The second major reason is how the military can do what they do and I'm not getting bombarded. The third major reason is easy access to the Internet. I think that Frequency Hopping is defiantly one of, if not the, most important modern (not really) day invention to be
Serving in the Military for 17 years, it has taught me many skills to be successful in life and when attending online schools or traditional learning in classroom environments. Of those skills are leadership, organization, reasoning, problem solving, oral communications, planning, and adaptive skills. Some of these skills I try to use during school such as organization, planning, and being adaptive. These skills are what I would say that I bring to the program and that they will continue to help me throughout my academic journey. Being able to be organized is key to ensuring that our coursework flows smoothly along with our everyday life styles. If we are unorganized then it can become very chaotic and unproductive to completing school work
Following graduation, high school students are suddenly thrust out into the world after four years of classes that has done little to nothing to prepare them for life after school. Always told that college is the only way to find a job that makes enough money for them to live a “happy” life, but for some, college isn’t the answer. The military offers not only a variety of jobs and a steady source of income, but an opportunity for higher education for free. Due to the complex nature of their mission, the United States military has multiple options for those who wish to make the most of their military careers. Known as Special Forces, these men and women face some of the most challenging opposition available. Pararescue, Tactical Air Control, and Combat Control are a few of the Special Forces under the control of the United States Air Force. Before choosing a career path, candidates should make sure to research the physical requirements, training length, and the mission of each career.
What I started to realize was that I can remember a time when if you wanted to keep in touch with someone you actually had to mail them a letter. My father used to tell me stories about how he used to listen to the Lone Range every week on the AM radio. But I remember watching Buck Rogers and Star Trek on a tiny little black and white TV and what it felt like when we got our first color TV set. Who knew that bugs bunny actually was still grey on a color TV or that Jerry was brown and Tom, well he still had a hard time catching that mouse no matter what color he was. Now when I watch my young children playing the Wii on the 55 inch HD plasma TV I remember my first game of Pong I played on my Radio Shack TRS-80. I also remember having to go home to make a phone call and often listen as my children are talking on my cell phone while we drive to grammas’ house. Then to top it off is that they don’t know what life was like before the internet. So I decided to it would be more interesting to take a historical walk through of some of the most significant technology and telecommunications developments that I have been so privileged to see develop in my lifetime.
I would be eligible for this occupation because I love to be active, and I was in cross country. I am able to run long distances without taking a break. My relatives were in the army like my great grandpa who participated in both of the World Wars. My grandpa used to be in the Vietnam War; he talks about it a lot in his spare time. My family has been in the military, but some of my past relatives have. The US Airborne provides excitement, education, opportunity, and competitive wages.
