The Hero That Never Stopped Fighting
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. My definition of a hero is someone that has fortitude, someone that keeps fighting through it all, and most of all someone that, even though they are hurting, takes care of others first. A person that is a great, amazing example of this is, my aunt Karen.
My Aunt Karen was born on February 19, 1962. Her parents were Clarence and Margaret Kapperman. Siblings are Jeff, Tim, Linda, Dennis, and Ben. She grew up right outside of Hartford, South Dakota. She grew up learning how to treat people, how to be a loving person, and learning right from wrong. She graduated from West Central in 1980. When she was 20 0r 21 she met the love of her life,
According to Merriam-Webster Dictionaries, a hero is “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities” (“Hero” def. 1). A hero is also “a person who is greatly admired” (“Hero” def. 2). While brave acts, fine qualities and admiration generally sum up what a hero is, I believe that these individuals who impact our daily lives deserve more respect and honor than what this simple definition gives them. A hero is someone who is genuine, valorous, and not afraid of self-sacrifice.
“The real hero is the man who fights even though he is scared.” General Patton. A hero is someone who inspires, solves, or helps others in a major way. Heroes can also change people's lives sometimes. A hero can range from many people, from first responders, famous citizens , or even strangers.
You are my hero. You have put up with how bratty of a kid I am. You have always pushed me to be who I am today, and pushed me to get to where I am today. You have showed me many things in life and one of them is how to be the best parent possible. You tell me day after day to go to college and make something of myself instead of wasting my education. You have always been there when I was down, and you are there for me when I cry to hold and love me. You always tell me I can be anything in life and that you would back me on my decisions; and so far I think you have done a good job with me. You have always gotten onto me when I wasn't doing right so that way I would know right from wrong. You have always told me not to have a life like yours
As a veteran seventeen-year-old living a fortunate life faced with no extreme dilemmas, being asked who my hero is really forces me to shift my focus onto the not-so-great times of my life. Thankfully, my focus is shifting back many years from now and not any recent events.
Throughout history there have always been heros present in society. Whether it's the mightiest warriors or just a person to look up to, heros have always been an important part society. Society require heros because they allow us to attach ourselves to symbols that define our ideals and recognize traits we would like to have and helps us solve problems that we may encounter. Although our views of who are heros can vastly differ we all have someone we idolize or have certain traits of someone we wish we had.
At first glance, the answer seems incredibly obvious; heroes are the good guys, villains are the bad guys. However, if you take a deeper look into the context, they each share the same purpose. Both heroes and villains are used in literature to show the specific characteristics that differentiate what we as a society view as “good” and “bad”. For example, the classic American opposites, Superman and Lex Luthor. Superman is used to show the importance of strength, courage, and honesty. His ultimate goal is to help any citizen in need and essentially “save the world”. Lex Luthor, however, has a completely opposite goal. Luthor represents moral depravity, single-mindedness, and letting power go to your head. His ultimate goal is to use his genius to destroy Superman and eventually, “take over the world”.
Everybody has been educated in the values that underpin our way of seeing life and relationships with others. To me, my family have taught me that for a person to be free need to be educate and fight for the rest of the people to have equal opportunities in a society based on respect, work and democracy.
A hero comes in different forms. It can take shape in a stranger or a familiar face lending a helping hand. Although it is difficult to tell initially, there is a defining moment when you can actually call someone a hero. One that exhibits genuine selflessness, bravery, and emotional strength for people in a time of need, no matter the scale of the action, is a hero. According to this, my grandma, or Lola, is my hero.
A true hero is not only characterized by having super strength, or beating the bad guys. A hero is a person who is looked up to, and appreciated by others. My dad is my hero, since he has helped those in need and is a good example for others who want to look up to him.
“Break the silence! Be bold and brave! Never lose yourself!” That was me ten years ago. Now, I’m marrying a man I do not love and dealing with my mother’s constant disapproval of the woman I am. So, yes, I am as unfulfilled with my life as one can be, and this is how it how it all started:
There are people in this world born with instincts unlike those of the average person. A person who does not hesitate running into a burning building or even a combat zone regardless of what might happen. These rare people share an uncommon trait. It happens to be the same traits that heroes posses. Everyday heroes are not people who stand out in a crowd; they are people willing to give their lives in exchange for the greater good of another person. Heroes help protect our community on a day to day basis, however the term “hero” has recently started to lose its real meaning.
Heroes have been a huge topic in the world from books to movies. But have you ever wondered what a true hero is that isn’t fictitious? People have a lot of opinions on what a hero is, but in my opinion a hero is someone who would go out if their way for another person in need, even if it’s something small. For example, someone who doesn’t have much, but still donates to those less fortunate or even someone who lifts a person’s esteem or sticks up for and defends another is a hero. My heroes are my parents, they have been there to help me and get me through some of the challenges I have faced so far. My dad is very encouraging when I feel defeated and my mom is there to help me understand something and have a deep conversation to express myself
“he·ro[ˈhirō]NOUN heroes (plural noun) 1. a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” Most people think of this definition when they think of the word “hero”, however when others think of the word “Hero” a different definition comes to mind. A hero is a person who other people look up to for guidance because they impacted their lives and whenever there was a tough situation that person got through it. That definition are also three traits that every hero needs. While there are many different types of heroes, the following three character traits are generalized to fit most heroes. A hero is someone who impacts someone's life in any way, regardless if it emotionally or physically. For instance,
My definition of hero is a person who goes above and beyond to achieve a goal. A true hero is honest, intelligent, brave, and resilient. A hero does not cheat, or lie to achieve a goal. A good example of a hero would be Dean Kamen who is an engineer and a person who looked onward to the future. Or someone like Elon Musk who devotes his time money and effort to help change the world. A fictional example of a hero would be someone like Odysseus. A man who had a challenge before him to get to his home. And he worked hard to achieve his goal. If we lived in a world without heroes then it would look a lot different. Without heroes then there would be so much lost progress. Inventions never invented, things never discovered, and Generations of people
“Yeah, it’s like they say. Heroes aren’t born, they’re made!” Influential in its simplicity this quote from the Dreamworks movie MegaMind, supposes a truth that has implications to real people. That simple truth is, “Are people born to do greatness and to change events around them, or do the events in a person’s life propel them to interfere in historical events?” This simple, yet insightful question, can revel that people are indeed made by the actions of others. Consequently you can look at several leaders and important influences in our early history (American Revolution) and observe what influenced them to become the heroes that they were. Events and peoples actions change others to change their life’s actions, their thoughts, and worldviews
