Environmental Assessment After the general assessment on my patient when I was able to use SPICES tool, I had the opportunity to visit her apartment, to evaluate her environment, focusing on safety, fall prevention, and any supplementary help available. My patient is living by herself and she is independent in all activities of daily living. She is a widow and her kids are living far away from her and they are in touch with her almost every day via telephone. Her apartment is her universe and from time to time she is visited by relatives. Also, she has a neighbor, a retired nurse who is checking on her almost daily. She is trying to keep up with all housekeeping work, but her recent umbilical hernia surgery prevents her from keeping her house …show more content…
Therefore, I insisted on talking to her about her depression. She told me that her husband passed away a few years ago and even if her daughters are living away from her she still have a good relationship with them. She has some relatives living in the same town with her but they are also older people and she is in touch with them via phone. Her neighbor is visiting her almost every day to check on her and she has some contacts with the local church which after few questions I find out that actually she can have a lot of support from her church but she doesn’t want to ask for help because she thinks everybody has problems and she doesn’t want to bother them. I talked with her about how important is for her to stay in contact with other people, to meet with them and have activities together. Her depression will go away when she will go outside to take a walk and because her apartment is closed with a park she can go there and spend some time with other people of her age. Also, I encouraged her to continue to read and I offered myself to bring a book on my next visit so we can talk together about the book and in this way her thoughts will be changed and she will have another prospect of
As the counselor I would help her come up with a plan to help cope and deal with the depression especially on the weekends and when she is alone and away from school where I am available to talk and discuss everything with her. Furthermore, I would also open up and show that it is okay to feel alone it is just how you cope and deal with things that can change her outlook on everything. It would also be beneficial to talk to the client about speaking to her parents about how them working all the time makes her
1. Explain how the environment is prepared, maintained and cleaned to ensure it is ready for the healthcare activity
Science is in my blood. I grew up always being fascinated in science both physical and environmental. My love for science started early when I was able to play outside every day and performing my own experiments in the backyard. Throughout middle school and high school, I took every available science course, I simply just wanted to know more. I did not know my exact path of study until my senior year in high school. I enrolled into an AP Environmental Science class, a brand new test run course at my school. Thinking back to AP Environmental Science, it was not just the material that directed my study. Ultimately it was my teacher, Mrs. Andre, who strengthen the flames of desire and intrigue to continue along the environmental studies path. Her drive and passion every day is what inspired me to focus on environmental education and communication.
Environmental scanning can be viewed as a way of acquiring information about outside events that can aid organizations in first identifying potential trends, then interpreting them
Mr. Weaver lives in a three bedroom two bath home with his wife and dog. While both are fully mobile and Mrs. Weaver is still working full time, he is 71 and wife 68 and have a few health concerns. My recommendation for future changes to the home to help keep the couple independent as long as possible would be as follows…
Desired outcome: Patient’s family members will decrease modifiable hazards in the hallway and in kitchen within one week
I signed up to take AP Environmental Science this year because I was more interested in taking it than expanding on solely biology or chemistry. This course includes several different fields of study which is why I thought it would be very interesting and I would learn about several subjects compared to just one. Before completing any work for this course, my definition of environmental science would have been, the study of elements of the environment such as climate, soil, and water. I also would have thought that the term environmentalism meant simply protecting the environment. The difference between environmental science and environmentalism is that environmental science is the study of the environment which runs more tests and experiments

I will do my part to ensure environmental justice for all by being educated and aware of environmental issues and the evolving covers/ another name for racisms. I will use that knowledge to vote for the right politicians who will focus on bettering the environment. I will do my part to ensure environmental justice by volunteering my time to work for a local environmental group/ small grassroots movement to fight for the local community. I will use my education to spread the awareness of the inequality and to push for equity. I will ensure my part for environmental justice by being more environmentally friendly and to push for more sustainability and by saving the environment, it reduces the stress on communities. I already do not eat meat because
An ecological footprint is your overall impact on the environment based on the resources that you use. The resources that you use will give an estimate to determine the area that is needed to support your lifestyle. Typically a person in a modern society that is industrialized can have a bigger ecological footprint than a person in a society that is not as developed and where certain resources have not reached. After taking the quiz my overall footprint was 4.6 planet earths. It surprised me very much because when I first went on the website I took the basic quiz first just to get an idea of what the point of the test was, and I got a total of 5 planet earths. Once I was done I thought for sure that I would get a lot less if I had to put in details, so I answered everything honestly and it only decreased by .4 planets. I was also surprised because for a few questions my answers were “infrequently”, or “occasionally” which I thought would help.
The physical environment assessment evaluates the community location, housing types and condition, and crime rates in the area. When Quadra Village was first designed, the community plans allowed for many walkways and spaces for people to gather (Appendix F). Today, various spaces exist throughout the area and are used for this purpose. Spaces that allow community members to interact and form relationships with each other create a sense of community (Community Toolbox, 2015). Despite a sense of a community, some residents in the Hillside-Quadra area expressed concern regarding the rising crime rates.
In William Gibson’s Neuromancer the natural world has become virtually nonexistent. The environment has essentially been destroyed and replaced with man-made technology, and anything genuinely ‘natural’ has become unfamiliar and even intimidating to humans. People in the dystopian society of Neuromancer are able to manipulate the ecological world to an incredible extent, so much so that even the human body has become unnatural through the use of medical technology such as artificial organs. However, despite the incredible abilities of technology in Neuromancer, certain imperfections show that humans are still incapable of recreating everything that they have destroyed, and thus Gibson is encouraging environmental preservation in the underlying themes of his book. Gibson’s portrayal of the environment, or lack thereof, in this future dystopia represents his fear of what the world would become if humans were to abandon nature. It is regrettably clear from the beginning of the novel that even the few aspects of nature that have not been destroyed by human activity are no longer viewed with admiration, nor do they contain beauty like they do in the real world; they are dull, gray, and unnerving.
In today’s economy, it’s hard to keep up a middle-class lifestyle, and to achieve living the upper-class lifestyle is even more of a challenge. The economy still hasn’t recovered from the recession in 2008. Jobs are hard to come by, good paying jobs, especially those that offer advancement and extra bonuses. Everyone wants to stay ahead the competition; the challenge is how? It is a race, a race between young professionals with bachelor degrees, MBA’s Ph.D. and older professionals with experience, extraordinary expertise and qualifications. My name is Germimah Clarke, and my strengths have morphed and developed very strong over the years, especially in my academic, career and social life. Talent, skills, creativity, ambition, and determination and finance are some of the key elements that are needed for pursuing a degree especially for a graduate degree. I’m the eldest. I have a sister and a brother, with two adorable nieces and a nephew.
Social Factors - The California Pizza Kitchen sells pizzas, pastas, salads, etc. and the ambience of the restaurants is quite informal and homely. Its primary key to its success has been that they were the first pizza restaurant that offered fresh and non-traditional ingredients for its pizzas. On a whole, the American consumer base is traditionally not very nutritional conscience when it comes to dining out. Regionally, the consumer preferences are suiting the business model of the company in most areas; however changes in the consumer
Our aim was to perform a holistic assessment including technical, economic and environmental aspects, in order to assess the overall sustainability of SBT plant. The methodology for environmental assessment used here is Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). LCA is a useful tool for investigating environmental impacts associated with a product, service or process from cradle-to-grave perspective. It is becoming increasingly popular amongst researchers in wastewater treatment field nowadays because of its holistic approach. It has been proved as a useful tool for computation of environmental impacts of a given wastewater treatment technology (Hospido et al., 2004; Gallego et al., 2008; Li et al., 2013). Table 1 shows review of studies on CSF technology and table 2 shows literature review on application of LCA to natural wastewater treatment technologies. Only Worli SBT is monitored and studied in detail i.e. in-depth evaluation for physicochemical parameters, microbial parameters, socio economic aspects and LCA was carried out.
