Life is beautiful yet it’s not a bed of roses. Though it’s filled with many ups and downs, it has many facets of blessings and successes. There are two types of people in this world, one, who believe that life is difficult and merciless. These sets of people live life as punishment also known as a life without principles. They lose every sense of direction and their escape to reality gets lost in the process. On the other hand, there are those who see life as a challenge. For them life has color, meaning, and a prospect. No matter what situation they are in, their life’s motive is to keep on going because eternally success is in their fate. No wonder an adage says, “Where there is life, there is hope.” The most essential values come from …show more content…
So maybe for that day I don’t need to live the Ben Franklin version of life, a life that is devoted only toward following my principles. However, at night I lay in bed realizing exactly why I and all those who live an organized life follow such principles and suddenly those thoughts clear up the fog built inside me of whether my values are worth fighting for.
Moreover, my life does not consists of waking up on time, praying on time, respecting the people around me, and all the qualities that makes up a perfect person. I also work on being a better person because none of us are flawless. Every day is to overcome the obstacles that are in my way. For instance, the idea of confidence may seem amazing but I am a person who lacks it. Yet, it’s important to not feel obligated to hide such weaknesses because my principles wouldn’t exists if my weakness were non-existent. Therefore, I am proud of my strengths that put me above all but I am also proud of my weaknesses that give me something to fight for as stated in Crisis No.1 that there are some fundamental truths that are worth fighting for which becomes a human duty of sorts. Living an integral role in not only my own life but also other people’s life is key which brings a full circle back to the idea of living a life with principles. Human beings are not accustomed to be perfect because there is a difference between living a life with goals compared to living a perfect life. To elaborate, striving for
Personal values, beliefs, and principles are important for individuals to know about themselves. However, when asked the question, “what are your personal values, beliefs, and principles?” The first response is often a laundry list of characteristics with the assumption that those three words are synonymous. From my experience when posed this question the laundry list became long and in retrospect, I began to wonder what the differences were between each of these terms. As a teacher, employee, mother, and Christian knowing these differences and how to answer the question is an important component of determining how I make decisions when faced with ethical dilemmas. Hence, began the investigation of how the terms relate, their meaning and what my answer is to this question. Since my laundry list was quite long for this essay, I will share and explain the top two elements for each category, how they relate to one another and how the knowledge influences tough decisions.
Living is about making choices. The choices people make shape their lives for better or worse. Even the decision not to choose has its effects, often not wanted. But the individual who chooses to make positive choices and to act accordingly is more likely to see his or her life reflect his or her beliefs and desires. Usually the individual who chooses to take action is also willing to face the risks and obstacles that such choices involve.
From the time children enter into preschool, they are expected- for the most part- to do their best and be proud of it. One child’s best could be another child’s worst, and the second child’s best could be a different child’s worst. If everyone is doing their version of the best work possible, then could anyone ever truly achieve perfection? A generally accepted truth is that the answer to this question is an obvious and resounding no. By definition, a perfect human does not exist. However, humans are constantly striving towards this goal despite their knowing that it is impossible. The constant striving brings people closer and closer to the impossible goal but leaves them just shy of reaching it. This close-but-not-quite-there ending means a life that it is almost perfect- a life almost straight.
This shows us that it isn’t easy to achieve goals. It’s actually really hard, but we should never give up because every time we fail to achieve our goal, we still learn something new. As, all of us are capable of doing lots of things that we might not be aware of yet. Now, moving on to spending time with your family and friends. On average, families only spend about 8 hours together in a week. Which sounds odd to me because right now I spend more than 20 hours with my family and friends each week. For example, my dad didn’t used to care about his studies or anything and just wanted to have fun when he was younger. But as he got to university, he realized that he has to be serious in life to get somewhere. So, he got serious with his studies and he got a rank on #1 out of twenty one collages, which I think is really hard, since before that he was almost failing. So, my point is that you can do whatever you want when you set your mind to it. Moving on to my third meaning of being human, which is learning from your mistakes: “The successful man will profit from his mistakes and try again in a different way.” ―Dale Carnegie. This quote reflects on my meaning of being human because I think that learning from your mistakes is something that we all do. I have made numerous mistakes since I was born, and I can say
My audience will learn by reading my essay that life is full of amazing things. Life is also full of many obstacles and difficulties that sometimes can make you want to quit. These obstacles aren’t there to make you quit and give up,
We often don’t think about what we do or even how we do things. The “Kenyon Commencement Speech” is teaching us how to think outside of ourselves. David says that hard-wired into our boards at birth is a basic self-centeredness and it’s a part of everyone. No one wants to admit that their world revolves around them, but what they fail to realize is that it’s a choice, a decision that one chooses to make. Reading, thinking, and analyzing this essay can help you realize that as a human being we can’t be self-centered, we have to be aware that life happens. A person can’t be selfish they have to be open-minded to real world situations, unplanned events that occur on an everyday bases.
Throughout our lifetime, us as people decide to admire different objects, ideas, and people due to what pleases their thoughts and actions. The infinite examples of things we could’ve valued could’ve been toys, friends, book, etc.. But then we began to mature and begin to come out of our little shells to discover new products, views of the world, and new ways to advance in our technology and therefore influencing what we value today. And as I matured in my lifetime, I established a novel value to my parents the greatest.
“Life includes unforeseen incidents that prove critical to promote personal growth. Life rarely gives us what we want. We are lucky if life gives us what we need in order to fulfill the path that was in place at our birthing.” ― Kilroy J. Oldster, Dead Toad Scrolls. People will go through the journey of life. The life is not a destination but a journey. As people go through, they learn, experience, and gain. The journey of the life matters because the people can earn experiences and those experience makes people better.

While attending college after 8 years on break I recently rediscovered what it means to live eloquently and with tenacity, this has lead me to be blissful. Values and morals are an integral part of life; values define who we are on a personal and professional level. My personal and professional values are similar but are used differently on a personal and professional level. In this code of ethics I have identified my core values as respect, honesty, loyalty, integrity, professionalism, and responsibility. Developing a code of ethics has provided me with an opportunity to reflect on my values and evaluate how I turn those values into action.
My personal values act as a basis for determining right and wrong in my daily life. My life, my parents, my husband and my children have all played valuable roles in the development of my core values. The following is an ever changing personal ethics creed, that I plan on using to help guide me in my endeavors.
1. I believe my personal values of justice and wisdom strongly correlate with social works ethics and values. The NASW Code of Ethics actually list social justice and competence as values in the social work profession, which are very similar to my values of wisdom and justice. My personal values greatly influenced my pursuit in social work because they have motivated me to seek wisdom as a social work student but also fight for justice where inequality prevails. The values of justice and wisdom have been guiding my life since an undergraduate student when I majored in both Women and Gender Studies and Political Science. I believe both majors laid a strong foundation for values. A major influencer in my pursuit of social work was my
Life is a complicated twist of suffering, laughing, and learning all merging to tell a great story - or great many stories. Based on this view, "it is not the end goal or outcome of life that gives life meaning but rather the quality of the story, the quality with which one lives out and develops his or her role."
My personal mission is to constantly strive to be the best overall person that I can be within my personal and professional life. My goals are to inspire and help others and myself around me to achieve greatness and a balance that will maximize our potential that will transcend the boundaries of our dreams.
As well as there is people who believe perfection is not attainable, there is also people who believe that it is possible to reach that, when they give everything they have. It is a much divided opinion, which will perhaps never come to one only general conclusion. To succeed in life people must always work hard and sometimes sacrifice some things they think are important, but putting them in front of another type of situations they would not be taken as a priority. The majority of these people who believe in perfection
