My biggest accomplishment was graduating from Eastern Michigan with my Bachelor’s degree. I want to take the next step to do a graduate Program and to learn more about the healthcare to further my career. My short-term goals are to simply break into the healthcare field. As a college graduate, I tend to want to start building a strong presence in the healthcare field, to simply work for a company I respect and doing a job that I enjoy. I want to improve my knowledge in the areas of the program such as, design development, adoption, and application of IT-based innovations in healthcare services, management and planning.
My long-term goals are to earn new responsibilities within the company, ultimately reaching higher positions within my career.
A time in my life in which I have been successful is when I graduate from college. Even though this was my second degree I was going to receive, it was the next stepping stone to heighten my career in healthcare. It was an uneasy decision, but I was determined to achieve my Bachelor’s in Science in Healthcare Administration.
Time flows like a river and you find yourself not thinking the way you used to as a child. As I grew older, my dreams and goals changed as well as my mindset on how to achieve those aspirations. Mercyhurst University’s Public Health Program is the main step toward helping me achieve my career goal of becoming a Registered Health Information Technician. I’d like to define success as many achievements and accomplishments, as well as the coming of knowledge for that which was unknown to one’s self. Therefore, there should never be an ending to a success story. It was when I graduated as a medical assistant that sparked the realization to what field I was most interested in.
My short term goal is to secure a position with the company Life Labs. I have already completed the Medical Laboratory Technician Assistant program so the purpose of this goal is to gain as much work experience and develop competencies working within the lab. My long term goal is to take my work experience and job knowledge and use it to return to school and
In May of this year, I will be graduating with a degree in Healthcare Management. I chose to obtain this degree to begin setting me up for my future endeavors.
Beyond the immediate exposure of healthcare best practices and how to address each situation with its own urgency; it has molded me to develop the skills necessary to balance a busy schedule to meet deadlines. Keck Medicine of USC has taught me to only accept the highest standards while being forthcoming and endearing with research for any project. Entering into healthcare from a completely different career path has been nothing short of challenging. This change of career required me to refocus my efforts and abilities to become a team player within an office setting and learn a new dialect only known within the health care community. All the skills and knowledge I have obtained required a great amount of perseverance and dedication outside the workspace to become a successful employee. I have no doubt that the dedication my career has bestowed me with, can also be applied to my education and will help me succeed within the USC environment. With this is mind, I have come to the conclusion that I am prepared to commence my graduate education at USC in pursuit of a Master’s Degree.
After four years of learning to be a college student and meeting the requirements of each of my instructors, it is time for me to prepare for graduation and the move onto my career dreams. The creation of my career action plan is one of the many steps I will take to assess my goals, abilities, skills, weaknesses, and likelihood of landing gainful employment. My career action plan can be considered a roadmap of my change from college student to career professional. The action plan roadmap can help me see the trail that takes me to understanding my professional goals, and the health care position I should look for. This Roadmap can also help me
There is no other place that would make me work this hard at everything I do, but now I know I could do it. Before being an MEHS student, I relied in only my grades, but getting those good grades with such simplicity was bringing me nowhere. After hearing about Mt. Edgecumbe I was scared that I could not make it up there. After two years of being a student there, I understand that succeeding at Mt. Edgecumbe is no simple task, but it could be done by someone who truly give it everything they have. Although this would be one of he most streaneus accomplishments I had ever achieved, I know I that I could do it if given the
As a child, one of the most important questions that is asked is, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” My response was a little bit stumbling, but it was very straightforward. “I want to be a nurse because they help others.” But as I grew and learned more about the healthcare field, I managed to find something that interest me. I am so eager to become a healthcare manager, leaning towards a leadership position, that I have researched every aspect and component of the career. Asking guidance counselors, parents, even those who work in political arenas, eager to learning more about the healthcare management career field. Ever since then, this has always been something that I wanted to set my goal as, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison has an impressive healthcare management specialization that can help me reach my goal. Enrolling in the school of business then adding the specialization of the healthcare management component. Overall, I want to attend UW-Madison because of its reputation in academics, extracurricular activities, research, the welcoming atmosphere, and the beautiful
Setting goals is the one thing that keeps me focused, or shall I say keeps my eye on the prize. Beginning my academic short term goals by earning a Career Diploma from Penn Foster Career School in Medical Coding and Billing. Then going on to pursue my Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Technology with Kaplan University. At that point, I immediately re-enrolled in the Bachelor of Science Degree program in Healthcare Administration. A long-term goal is to return to Kaplan University for the Master’s Degree program in Healthcare Management.
My answer to the question, what will be regarded as my major accomplishments is, that I have been earning A’s in all classes in school for as long as I can remember. Good grades are something to take pride in. I feel like my accomplishments are something to be proud of. I say this because A’s don’t come easy. So in the end when I look back and think about what I have achieved I think about how different people might think about me. In addition in my previous travel season of softball (around 75 games), I had one strikeout. That is a pretty challenging and amazing feat to pull off, and I was very excited at the end of the season when I found that out. My coaches and teammates respect me more now.
My main goal at this moment is to achieve the Bachelor in Healthcare Management & Leadership. My goal meets the SMART require management because is specific, measurable, archival, realistic, and timely. Back in 2012, I decided to come back to college
As you will come to know most of my experiences are based on sports because other than hunting and fishing. In sports one of the most important thing I have learned is tenacity. My sophomore year of wrestling I was soft, a little chubby, uncoordinated, and not very strong. If you know anything about wrestling you will know that you must be in top physical condition. Needless to say I was not much of a match for the two state qualifying senior wrestlers that were the only other two on the team. That year I got beat up so bad I got slammed, smashed, smacked, and tied into a pretzel. That was all before conditioning I could barely do 20 regular push-ups going into the year by the time that year was over I could do thirty clapping push-ups and
My biggest accomplishments thus far has been improving my academics. By doing so, I finished my first semester of senior year with a 3.6 GPA but, I also won the principles merit award and made the honor roll for the first time. I ended my junior year with very poor GPA of 2.5, this year I made the decision to improve my grades and take academics more seriously by not focusing on athletics so heavily and eliminating as many outside distractions as I could. Another major accomplishment was me getting accepted into UCCS. Even though I was still applying and being accepted to other schools, UCCS was one of the top colleges that I wanted to attend, but I realized that I need to mature as a student and as a person. I changed my attitude about school
I started my freshmen year in high school with a negative attitude and had no goals set for myself. I didn't even know if I wanted to go to college, so I didn't take anything seriously. I didn't really care about my grades or gpa. However, throughout the years, I matured immensely, and devoted myself in school. I started to care about my grades and how they reflected me. I joined clubs, and started attending tutoring to increase my knowledge. I proceeded to challenge myself by taking harder classes to raise my GPA. My junior year I set a goal to achieve straight "A's" through the whole year, which I successfully achieved through dedication. I continued to set goals for myself for my senior year. I challenged myself by taking my first AP
What's mine is yours. Having lived a year in a student hostel I understood this phrase was the best to describe my first year student life. We shared everything: all of bright spots, all of difficult moments, all of the books and all of the cakes. My roommates are my best friends now and I trust them as I would myself. I believe amazing adventures and close friendship are waiting for us too! Also I believe, my dear roommate, you’ll get at least one new hobby living with me. I promise I’ll share to you with my frenzy for mountains. Oh, that’s really amazing! I’m a participant of the university tourist all around team(sports tourism university team member) and every weekend we get to go to incredibly picturesque places of Zailiyskiy Alatau.
