Writing is not a profession for me, it's more like a path to reach Zen. I'm a budding creative writer who focusses on coming up with meaningful contents which can help my readers in some way or the other. So, needless to say, I don't do crappy jobs at all.
I am an avid reader and like to see the historical side of stories to have an understanding of the vastness of wisdom, so that some day, my wisdom could be reflected through the pages of my writing.
See how dreamy my writing looks ? Don't worry , tell me who your target audience are and I can tailor the story accordingly. But at least when we talk, lets keep the dreamy side up and create something meaningful and beautiful.
My childhood never consisted of a basic family routine. Other than my own house, I spent a majority of my time between my aunt’s and grandma’s house, which had a major impact on the way reading and writing has affected my life today. I was around the age of four when I began the first stages of my interests in reading. My aunt was the first one to sit down with me and begin the layout of my love for reading by teaching me the alphabet and the basic sounds of each letter. And my grandma was the first one to ensure the writing factor as she often told me stories that she had written herself. These two women, along with my schooling, are the benefactors behind my success in reading and writing to this day. Reading and writing have been very important
Write down for both your writing - as well as for your audio-visual skills what your strengths and weakness are. Be concrete and detailed. Give evidence / arguments why you think this is so. Below some sentences are given which may help you on your way.
Throughout my life, the English language has acted as something much more than a communicative tool. Because I emigrated from Germany to the US when I was almost five years old, my adoption and ongoing usage of the English tongue has connoted a change of cultural, and even personal, identity in my life. I did not know one word of English when I arrived in the US in 2004, and so, as I learned English, thus I became familiar with the new life I would live on the other side of the Atlantic. I quickly became fluent in English and entered public school after one year of preschool. I remember that, for the first hundred days of kindergarten, I did not utter one word. This was not due to a lack of English ability, but rather to my shyness and the fact that I was still acquainting myself to the norms of existence in the US. Following this, my shyness
Can you consider myself to be a terrible writer? Most writers get inspiration from experiences, circumstance, or imaginations make a contribution in authors storyline. Each writers have their own style of writing since they all different messages, languages, and tone for the reader to actual take a position in the narrator’s writing. In a past even, when my grandfather is no longer with me, he has made a huge contribution in academic life.
Growing up I always knew I loved to read. There was a time when I thought reading was just for school not for anything else. When I started to get into sports I started to enjoy reading sports magazines online articles, and that made me enjoy reading about my favorite athletics their stories and how they became what they are and how they did it. Soon enough I saw myself finishing the whole article or the magazine. Part of that made enjoy reading more, and that made like to read other than sports so I started to read about history because I always was fascinated with what happened in the past, but I just never put the time to read about it. Which made me challenge myself to see if I can read a book or an article or something that I wanted to check it out and read about
Reading and writing has always created a sense of understanding for me in my art. Reading in the literal sense is a way that we understand text or symbols in our minds which in turn create meaning. Writing also in a literal sense is our way of communicating our knowledge and emotions to others through symbols in text. The human experience for all people includes communication and through reading and writing this experience is created. From the beginning of this course, my only prior experience with reading and writing were high school level course over literature and reading. I had an average level of rhetoric, reading, writing and language overall however, understanding the significance of these subjects was never put forth in such a way until I took this course. I discovered through this course that reading is a combination of not only our “visual information” but also our “nonvisual information”. My comprehension of reading has evolved from reading
One of my most challenging experiences in writing was actually in Virginia Wesleyan College. During my last semester, I was taking Professor Ruh’s ENG 250 class called 19th Century American Women Writers, and we were required to write a few literary analytical essays on novels and short stories that were written by women during the 19th century. Even though the class was very interesting, I was having such a hard time writing my essays that I actually thought I would never be able to pass his class after I failed my first essay. I am usually the type of student that never asks for help because I would often feel intimidated by my teachers. However, I managed to speak up and ask for his help throughout the entire semester and because of that,
As a person who enjoys the subject of English, I feel safe to say that I do have a love for reading and writing. Reading helps me escape to another world, and developing a well-written essay is very satisfying. My favorite genres are historical/science fiction, and I’m a fan of dystopian novels. Oddly enough, the wretched societies and brutal experiences within these books cause me to look at life with a better perspective, and it opens my eyes as to of what could be, and what is. My strengths as a reader include my ability to decipher a piece of text, and read quickly enough to complete a book within a couple of days. Contrarily, I find it very difficult to get myself through books which I may not feel a connection with, and that tends to
While a young writer develops his skills, he utilizes the writing process as a guide; unfortunately, not all writers are in good relations with this guide. When viewing the process theoretically, the task does not seem daunting, but when put into action that is not always the case. Each writer has his own experience and views on the writing process. Some find revision and editing easier than prewriting, and others may not. Every writing experience is different, even between the pieces a singular author writes. That is why finding out what strategies within the writing process a writer best connects with is imperative. The writing process is important and different for every writer; therefore, celebrating strongholds, pointing out flaws, and setting goals to improve the relationship with the writing process is necessary for the singular author.
The career I'm researching about is a professional author/writer, the required level of education is a college degree and a bachelor's degree in English although it's a little bit harder to get your book published, to get a book published you need to get it confirmed by a literary agent and if they approve of it they will send it to a big publisher. The required classes to take are pretty easy the only required one is really English, but it's also just kinda good to prepare yourself a little bit more by taking writing, literature, and any other extracurriculars that involve writing could definitely help, writing short stories would obviously help you get better if you're even interested in doing this. If you tend to give up on things or loose
Is it wrong for me to believe that to be a good writer, one must be blessed with natural talents? Or so I thought when I realized that writing is something anybody can do through practice, hard work, and even reading. Of course those who have a natural talent for writing may have it easier, but you don’t need to be a genius to be a writer. To be honest, there was a point in my life where I thought I wasn’t good enough to be called a “writer”, but I was more like a person who just writes. Even in school, I struggle with finding a motivation or passion to be able to write a well thought out paper beyond what the requirements for school are. The fact that I have more weaknesses than strengths left me with the feeling of uncertainty and doubt on whether I can freely write my thoughts and words down onto a piece of paper. I mean if I can’t even do something as simple as that, then how am I ever going to be able to clearly get my point across to those reading. Through my strenuous years of writing countless papers, I still find myself having problems. One of my downfalls has to be the fact that it takes me a longer amount of time to write an essay compared to my fellow peers who can probably finish one within less than an hour.
My first college writing experience consisted of several resumes and cover letters for the various work-study jobs that I applied to. Prior to that, I have constructed numerous essays where I primarily critiqued the literary works of many well-known authors. In junior year of high school, I critiqued the notable poetry of a unique author-- Wislawa Szymborska. The poetry Szymborska wrote was very intricate and rich in subliminal messages. Her poetry usually disregarded the use of rhyme, and instead focused on the sophisticated use of metaphors and allusions. In addition, I continued to evaluate other notable literary works in my senior year of high school. My English teacher instructed me to analyze the poetry of John Donne-- who focused on constructing short poems which reflected complex messages through the use of extended metaphors. I
As far as the skills acquired from the course and its applicability to my field of study, I feel that the overall increases writing effectiveness, methods of persuasion, and creative writing could be very advantageous in my pursuit in marketing and 3d modeling. With these skills, I will be able to pitch ideas more effectively. As a writer in general, I hope to improve my use of voice to make my writing more personalized as well as cathartic.
One of my dream was a writer. I enjoyed the writing since when I was young. I just wanted to challenge for my work and never thought I was selected because I wasn't confident of my writing. After I got this award, I felt more confident and had pride of my self for writing.
Throughout my high school career, I’ve endured history class after history class; however, I am no history buff. My niche happens to fall in the STEM subjects: science, technology, engineering and math. So, my brain prefers to think in terms of numerics--and there I sat--in AP World and US history classes, learning what seemed to me as silly, trivial facts about history, until a particular subject grasped my attention: the evolution of technology and the unfathomable thoughts of inventors. From the cotton gin to the typewriter, the camera to the telephone, the programmable computer to the world wide web, the rage of new inventions always explodes across the globe. And as I always tend to look towards the future, the constant curiosity
