My involvement with NSCS has helped me feel prepared for my future transition from Austin Community College to Texas State University in various ways. By showing me that making connections with others will not only benefit my future in education but also help encourage me to achieve my future career and life goals is what has encouraged me the most in making the transition to a 4-year university. These connections have not only helped me recognize my ability to be academically successful, but has also provided me with the opportunity to be engaged with a group of likeminded students. Due in large part to the encouragement of these students, I, in turn, have begun to feel better prepared to develop stronger leadership skills, make a difference on and off campus, help gain a greater sense of achievement, enjoy a variety of experiences, and work hard to impress graduate schools as well as potential employers. …show more content…
Not only does this help determine one’s qualifications to be hired for a job but also helps them to exceed in said job. Employers today are looking for diligent students that they can depend upon to go above and beyond their set job description, and are happy to realize that the number of students of this kind continue to grow in number. Not only to please their employers, most likely, but also to give themselves a sense of pride and achievement for having the ability to be so versatile in a number of fields. The mere thought of this feeling alone is enough to encourage me to start going above and beyond in my studies, so that I may already begin to be more successful. These skills are beneficial to have in any place in life, and are encouraged to be gained at all points in one’s
At first I was not sure what I should put, but then when I starting thinking about it, it came pretty easily. However I did have a difficult time thinking about what I can’t change because I try not to focus on that.
I am attending GCU to improve my education and myself and to achieve my goals for the future.
This unit does not introduce much new material. Instead, we expect you to integrate technical and theoretical knowledge acquired from study across your degree. We refer to two frameworks that may support you in carrying out this integration:
Pursuant to California Vehicle Code (40902), I plead not guilty by Trial by Written Declaration of the charges of CVC 22349 (b). I have paid the fine of $352 and have attached the receipt to the case as instructed.
As part of my Business Innovation Development Project Unit, I had the opportunity to put myself into group with my friends or people I believed I could work well with. In the first stages of our group we all tried to get to know each other more through analysing personality and learning types’ test that we previously undertook. I realise we were going through the normal stages of the team formation in particular forming and norming (Tuckman, 1965). In my assignment group we had all Belbin team roles which helped us perform well throughout our project and also helped us to identify other team members’ behavioural strengths and weaknesses. During the initial stages of the group getting together I believed it was
SNC spoke in monotone voice and had some long pauses during his brief as he tried to make sense of his notes. He jumped to conclusions and made assumptions from the information in higher’s brief, saying that the enemy was equipped with explosives and small arms. SNC did not adequately brief Coordinating Instructions, did not have a clear initial plan and his tasks were merely billet assignments. As a result, he did not quickly transition into execution but took a great deal of time trying to determine a good course of action and asking candidates if they could perform certain tasks, such as commando crawl across the wire. During execution, he did not move his team with a sense of urgency and could not decide on what course of action to
What really motivated me to enroll at GCU was a couple things. I was in the process of applying to a different college, and something just wasn’t feeling right. The process wasn’t going smooth at all. The enrollment advisor called me numerous time a day and the over the phone interview felt fake. As I got off the phone with her, I thought I would research my degree more. I googled Bachelors in Science with Business Management and Grand Canyon was one of the links. I had taken a previous class long time ago with GCU when I was pursing my BSN. I had remembered that all my previous prerequisites were on file. After more research on GCU another thing that convinced me was no out of state tuition. That is a big perk. Online classes are my only option
I believe that I have a good understanding of the law in general which is a good start for APS. On the other hand, I was struggling with the files at first. I then decide to always work, review, ask someone different for help with my file. This way, I see different ways to do my file and have a larger knowledge of the file work. I also always bring my previous file to work on my current file. Doing this, I don’t do the same mistakes twice and quickly improve. When I receive the correction of my file, I take time to read and understand my mistakes and ask questions if needed. I consider report writing one of the most important skills you can have as a police officer because you will use it a lot. Bad files can have big repercussions on a suspect
In the past, I have worked in an LTAC setting with ventilated patients. Specifically, eight years ago, in which I had a different skill level as an LVN, as well as, did not understand the ramifications of induced delirium due to certain medications. In addition, RN’s were the licensed staff to implement certain IV medications and as an LVN would manage patients and give meds per peg under RN direction. Since skill level of course differs, it was hard to research or even have any training in LTAC setting with delirium patients. This would be an interesting topic to enlighten staff from different skill levels on how to manage and cope with the effects of delirium, especially induced by medication. When I was a clinical
Now that I have been in NYU for a few months, I felt somewhat exhausted but overall enriched. It is exhausting to accommodate a new learning environment and heavy workload in NYU; however, it is also enriching that I gained more knowledge from different courses and improved my writing skills. Although I have finished most of my midterms in October, there is still a lot to be completed in the following months. I am stressed with the tightly packed schedule. I was procrastinating for the midterms and papers in the previous weeks that I did not have enough sleep. In the previous school, I did not procrastinate that much for school works and often have enough sleep at night. I now realized not sleeping enough can greatly affect my concentration and the ability to
At the NIH, I study an RNA binding protein, LARP4, and how it affects mRNA translation and stability. This research has broad implications for understanding cancer, more specifically tumor progression. While my undergraduate research was meaningful, working full-time at the NIH has elevated the amount of time and resources I have to fully commit to furthering research. The NIH provides a platform not only for me to add to the growing knowledge of health, but to collaborate with great minds in order to utilize this information for improving medical care. I feel that this is emblematic of OSU’s vision to improve patient lives through innovative research. I also believe that OSU’s mission for ever-improving patient care is reflected in my volunteering
The UMC has a variety of sources to define the characteristics of our beliefs. A part of our beliefs focus on the wellbeing of the member as they take their journey with God. A journey so absolute they become disciples for God’s transformation of the world. Likewise, a vast majority of UMC members exemplify their work through participating in daily religious practices.
As I take a moment to reflect on my time here at NCOA, I have learned that as a leader in my work center, I do a lot of great things. However, I also realize that I have room for improvement. Throughout the module readings, I highlighted areas in where I felt I needed the most improvement to become the leader that I aspire to be. For the next three to five years, I plan to implement these changes to improve the way that I handle things. From the way that I think to the way that I lead, effectively implementing these changes will make me a better leader for my subordinates, peers, and supervisors.
Upon assessing my experience in COMSKI2, I can say that undoubtedly learned new knowledge, skills and techniques in writing which would be a great help in the future. During the first weeks of our meeting in the course, we were asked to answer the participant contract which contains statement about the possible contributions that each of us can do for the class. From this, I can say that I was able to help in achieving the objectives of the class paying attention and asking questions in behalf of the class. Also, I was responsible enough to finish all the requirements on time or even ahead of time as I encouraged myself to always do my best. Moreover, I made sure to hone the target competencies through setting certain goals especially in doing
When I first arrived on the unit, I was so clueless on where I was. It all happened so fast in between getting off the elevator and standing in the area. Due to the staff in the area being busy I sat and observed, which made me feel the most distant. I immediately found out that the area was called “Same Day Surgery (SDS)”. The nurse on the unit who engaged with the students on the floor was the most helpful and affirming, which made me feel included in patient care. Same Day Surgery is a health care facility that prepares out-patients’ for surgery that will take place that same day, also known to be a pre-operative setting. SDS or outpatient surgery is eligible to patients who needs minor or immediate procedures.
