Reaching my goal in becoming a member of the National Honor Society would give me a great sense of pride both academically and personally. I intend to live on campus to help ensure exemplary grades, attend all classes whether attendance is mandatory or optional, and lastly, I have an strong and supportive family of successful alumni to push me to be a prosperous student. Students should demonstrate scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character because of three reasons. One, if students demonstrate these qualities they are more likely to get better grades and get reprimanded less. Throughout my freshman year at Notre Dame Preparatory I have participated in many new activities that have allowed me to grow in character, leadership, and service. Examples of such activities include school athletics, membership in the United States Civil Air Patrol, and ushering at my Catholic parish. Through school athletics I have not only grown in my athletic ability in the sports of track and cross country, but I have grown in my ability to move through adversity and challenges. Empowering the community is essential to its vitality and continuation. Within my small hometown of Riner, we try to support one another as much as possible and care deeply about our community. Despite recently moving to a town 30 minutes away, I still try to be an active participant in the Riner community. This organization is known for sharpening social and academic skills, and producing well-rounded scholars.
