The National Honor Society is a prestigious organization that recognizes students who stand out among their peers. Being nominated to be a member of such distinguished organization is a privilege itself. I believe I demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service and character, therefore I would be honored to be a part of the National Honor Society. As an ambitious, hardworking student, I hope to gain the skills and confidence achieved from being a member of this respected society.
My definition of strong character is to stand behind your own beliefs, treat others with dignity and live by a code of strong moral and honesty. I am and have always been a straight A student with school being one of my top priorities. Last year, I finished 9th grade with a GPA of 4.29. I have been awarded for my outstanding academic performance by receiving Principal and Presidential Honor Rolls every semester. I strive to complete challenging courses to demonstrate myself and others how hard work pays off. For instance, I have completed my AP Spanish course and got a 5 on the test, and currently I’m participating in the AP World History course. In addition, I am highly interested in expanding my cultural knowledge. For that reason, I am learning my third language, French. On the other hand, I also pursuit artistic and athletic accomplishments. I have been chosen alongside few of my classmates to participate in an art project at school to portray my country’s culture and folklore. Simply being invited to become a member of the National Honor Society is a privilege. It’s not necessarily surprising to me that I was invited but rather gives me an exhilarating feeling. A part of me now knows that my sedulous efforts have finally paid off. Throughout my high school career so far I’ve exhibited the four pillars, which are scholarship, leadership, character, and service. This organization administers a plethora of opportunities that has an impact on the students and the lives of others especially. To be accepted into the National Honor Society would motivate me to contribute even more to not only our school but also the community.
I think I should be considered for a membership for the National Junior Honor Society or NJHS because I am a different individual with a dream. The National Honors Society allows students to be build and create traits that are essential in a successful adult. I truly believe that hold many of these traits and joining the National Honor Society will grant me the opportunity to expand on these traits and grow as a person. Thus far I have focus greatly on the scholarship aspect of NHS and have been dedicated to my academics. I have held my GPA above 4.0 and have always been devoted to maintaining that high level of academic success. Reaching my goal in becoming a member of the National Honor Society would give me a great sense of pride both academically and personally. As a person I have ambition, academic excellence, and great decision making skills to offer NHS. I have been striving to do my academic best for a chance to be in the NHS, I show this with my 3.5 GPA. The National Honor Society is based off four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character.
After doing some research on the National Honor Society, I learned that one must demonstrate the qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and service in order to be considered for membership into the National Honor Society. Therefore, by showing that I possess each of these four qualities, I can contribute to Ocoee High School as a member of the National Honor Society.
Being chosen to be a candidate for a membership for the National Honor Society is such an honor to me. It shows that I have worked hard in all aspects of my life to show leadership, success, excellence and service, despite the many challenges I have faced along the way. It also proves to myself that I have worked hard to maintain my grades in ninth, tenth, and some of eleventh grade while maintaining a part time job, and volunteering at a barn in my hometown.
I am extremely honored to be considered in being in the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization helps a lot within communities and keeping grades up. That is why I believe I should be a member. I know how to keep my grades at the highest they can be, which in my case is a 4.0. I am also largely active within my community and school. I play softball for my high school and hope to be a captain this year since I am now an upperclassman. I also enjoy helping within my community doing things such as work, clubs, and travel softball.
Overall, I am a devoted and well-rounded student, making me a perfect candidate for National Honor Society. Not only do I posses the four tenets, character, scholarship, leadership and service, but I am also constantly working harder and striving to be better in all four regions. National Honor Society will help me reach my goal in becoming a better student and person. My academic drive and diligence as a student are manifested in my scholastic achievements. I was presented with the Most Outstanding Student Achievement Award when I graduated 8th grade from Mountain Home School. I currently have a grade point average of 4.0, which has been sustained throughout my years of high school thus far. Last year, as a sophomore, I received three Academic Achievement Awards for Religion, Chemistry, and Spanish 1. I also took three senior classes, and I was on the Principal’s List for every quarter. This year, I am taking two dual-credit classes and excelling in both. I believe that the main reasons I am a straight-A student are because I am self-disciplined, I have a strong work ethic, and I strive for academic excellence. Mediocrity is never an option for me.
The values which the National Honor Society exudes and its members must stand for are leadership, scholarship, service and character. For these reasons, I know that I would be a valuable member of the National Honor Society, due to my scholastic expertise, my ability to both persevere against and to entertain, ideas which conflict with my own and my skill at entering and excelling in leadership positions.
