The US population is increasing at a rapid rate of 2.1 million per year” and with it, are many issues that plague the world. Because of overpopulation, scientists have had to increase the production of food and materials. These processes have affected the environment and caused global warming. Global warming is when the overall temperature of earth’s atmosphere increases slowly, typically because of the greenhouse effect caused by the rising level of carbon dioxide gases in the air and other pollutants. Some examples of carbon dioxide gases are fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas. Global warming has a negative effect on the environment because there are many environmental changes, vegetation’s growth is debilitated, natural disasters are more prevalent, and animals are becoming extinct.
The environment faces many changes due to global warming. For example, in California the soil, trees, and grasses dried out. Precipitation patterns and rising temperatures are starting to change where the plants grow. The formation of water in the oceans change because carbon dioxide gases mix with the water and the big sheets of ice that cover land in Antarctica and Greenland happened to melt. This ice is sliding off the land and falling into the oceans. Changes in weather affect waters rapidly because the water temperatures increase and become warmer than they should be. There is a increase in the possibility of storms, droughts, and floods occurring around the world. In order to prevent
Other species are being affected by this global warming. Especially, the animals that survive on ice like polar bears. Impacts of global warming include the melting of ice in the Antarctic; this is due to the rising temperature of the ocean surrounding the ice which then causes melting. However, some people argue that the ice caps are growing rather than shrinking so they completely devalue the issue of global warming. This is not necessarily true, since the heat from the ocean causes the ice to melt but the melted ice (turned into fresh water) also freezes immediately after it melts. So it is still an issue that is supposed to keep an eye on. The ecological impacts of ice melting would be the reduction of small ice caps which polar bears land
Global Warming has a huge affect on our daily lives and on animals. We lose a bunch of natural resources, especially fresh-water, because it melts into the salty oceans; however, attempts have been made including the slowing down of global warming by stopping the usage of fossil fuels; whether the attempts have been successful or not. The earth’s temperature is slowly increasing which is a massive long term factor on inhabitants all over the world. The Amazon Rainforest has also experienced many problems due to deforestation and the water circulation throughout all of the plants and trees. Global Warming is exponentially increasing causing the rapid melting of glaciers, which leads to ocean currents changing and
Global warming is a resultant of Heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere. The release of these gases has increased in the last 500 years since the industrial revolution. There is an expectation that global warming will result to rising sea levels, droughts, fires, heat waves, extreme storms, heavy rainfall, floods, and melting of snow and ice. These changes as envisaged would affect agriculture and general food availability with devastating consequences for existence of life on earth. In additional, life would change completely because many systems are tied to the climate. For example, temperature changes would affect breeding
In recent years, global warming is a topic that has received much attention. It’s is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants, which also known as the green house effect. Global warming can negatively affect the earth's delicate ecosystems. It has been linked to dangerous new weather patterns, the extinction of plant and animal species and so many others bad effects.

Every place becomes warmer because people always do the things that would damage the planet. For example the people usually use the air conditioner, this would discharge a lot of greenhouse air. That is too late to save it from complete destruction when climate change has damaged the planet beyond repair. Global warming is caused by the factory and cars always discharge CO2. ’ Global warming is primarily a problem of too much carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere—which acts as a blanket, trapping heat and warming the planet.’ (Union of Concerned Scientists, 2011) Some people think that it is not a serious problem to damage the planet or they can still save the planet. However, Global warming has already caused serious destruction to the planet and it is too late to save it because the planet start to arise many problems and people cannot do anything to help the planet.
Global warming is “The increase in Earth’s average surface temperature due to rising levels of greenhouse gases” (NASA). This issue is not a myth anymore, is affecting our economy, health and our future aggressively. The need to reduce pollutant emissions is now something urgent and an important commitment for all the nations. Natural disasters, virus and diseases are consequences of changes of temperature, the emissions of carbon gases weaken the ozone layer, water and food pollution.
Each year, the temperature of the Earth only gets worse due to human actions. “Global warming is already responsible for some 150,000 deaths each year around the world, and fear that the number may well double by 2030” (Gould). This statement proves that the choices we make and activities we take part in, affect the population’s health negatively. Humans do not have the capacity to easily adapt to extreme temperature or to any other events resulted by global warming. All the direct and indirect effects of extreme weather only hurt humans because we create this situation. Health is one of the main aspects that is negatively impacted due to the rise of temperature. Therefore, our priority should be to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But all these problems around us make it impossible to be healthy in many ways and this results in damaging the human development since the pregnancy and after it, lungs problems, and mental stability issues.
Since the industrial revolution, scientists keep telling the story that the earth is not what most people might think back then: “a mother”, to be feared and respected. Instead, science today gives man godlike power; the earth is a machine, and we are its engineer, masters. We can change the earth like Lego blocks; we extract from it whatever we want to make use of, without needing to think about the consequences on environment, animals, or people. Humans caused global warming. With the economy that was built to deny any responsibility for the environment and cover up the truth behind their disgusting selfishness, it is hard to start fixing the environment when many people do not even believe a problem exists. I believe that it all came from the overwhelming power of the industry to lie and blind people from what is right there. Related to “Two Economies” by Wendell Berry, the economy that we have is an economy without value; I learned the lesson from history, nothing without value can survive as time goes on. Many may still believe in the industrial revolution but to me it is definitely the end of the world.
Since our earliest adaptations, our species has always been dependent on this Earth. Long before we raised our bows and became hunters, our gathering instincts lead us to drink from rivers, collect berries, and plant seeds. We asked for nutrients, and so the Earth provided. Through hundreds of years, however, we have rapidly increased our planet 's destruction, and so when we ask for the same nourishment, the Earth had a different answer. Instead of the plains of grass, and springs of fresh water that previously greeted us, we have become accustomed to the polluted wastelands that surround us in our day to day lives. The fact of the matter is: by killing our planet, we have begun to kill ourselves as well.
This paper deciphers the risks and damages associated with global warming. All the hazards are discussed in detail along with living and nonliving factors that causes or are affected by global warming. Measures to attain sustainability are also discussed thoroughly. Benefits and challenges to attain sustainability are also argued.
One of the more troubling themes of over the past few years is global warming. Global warming is the result of human activity overloading our atmosphere with carbon dioxide and other toxic emissions. These emissions trap heat, drive up Earth’s temperature, and create significant and harmful impacts on our health, our environment, and our climate. In an effort to hinder global warming, advocates have made several efforts to decrease the amount of harmful emissions being released into the atmosphere and have put pressure on the government to be involved in the fight against global warming. The U.S. Federal Government responded by making certain atmosphere-harming actions illegal and providing incentives for individuals and companies to
Global Warming is the result of too many gases, which accumulate in the atmosphere. These chemicals build up and produce what is known as greenhouse gases. This results in temperature changes and various weather patterns. The gases, which rise up into the atmosphere retain a lot of heat, which can cause higher temperatures and more moisture in the air. Many of the pollutants in the atmosphere come from everyday human activities, such as using automobiles, factory fuels, and agricultural waste.
Ultra violet radiation from the sun passes through earth’s atmosphere and heats up the surface of the planet. Radiation in the infra-red region is then reflected from the earth’s surface with the intention of being emitted into space. Greenhouse gas molecules absorb the reflected IR radiation and re-emit the radiation in all directions, including back to earth. This additional radiation is being absorbed by the earth and is thus accelerating the rate at which our planet is heated.
Global warming is the constant increase of temperature in the earth’s atmosphere that is caused by the increase of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, greenhouse gases and many other pollutants. Chlorofluorocarbons are any type of compounds of carbon, hydrogen, chlorine, and fluorine which are harmful to the ozone layer. Global warming can affect many things, one example is the rising of temperature which can result in different types of disasters like storms, heat waves, floods, and droughts. Global warming also causes Higher death rates, Dirtier air, Higher wildlife extinction rates, the increase of Acidic Oceans, and Higher seas levels. In this essay, I will provide information that will show how harmful global warming can be to not only the earth but to humans and animals, and what we can do to prevent it from increasing.
